Welcome ladies to our new home yet again!! I hope this one will be as lucky as the last one was!

Hi Elm - I obsess every month and seems every month I get a kick in the teeth by another friend or family member falling pregnant - always a surprise unplanned/unexpected anouncement - the latest being future brother in law already 6 months gone - I only found out when outlaws came over and said "what do you think about the baby?" - cue DP professing not to know about it - but afterwards admitted that he was keeping it from me to save upset!!!! Didn't work very well!

Am hoping to OV this weekend - which typically will mean I miss IUI again this month - not going too well so far - missed last month as OV early!

Rant over - hopefully I'll also be on the 2WW and obsessing again next week!

ElmMum · 29/04/2011 16:09

Hi Slightly, poor you. It's miserable every time someone announces they're pregnant. You just really want it to be you. I find myself nearly telling everyone that we're TTC and failing, so people will understand if I'm distracted, miserable and not my usual self. I have already told quite a few friends - can't seem not to.

Good luck with the ov-ing this month!

Well day 32 for me, no idea what my cycle is doing... perhaps longer due to the ivf? 32 is my longest ever. Good news is see stroke consultant in July to find out what happened (!) and at last community physio triage for waiting list for physio next Tuesday. IRONIC emoticon seriously needed. If have knee replaced you get physio immediately, but if a type of stroke in your 30's with a job you need to get back to you wait 3 weeks for triage for treatment. KC cleaning money a good idea, but my mother in law has saved the day, and used money instead for some treatment to get me back on my feet! Good idea though and just seeing everything sorted, with ironing done too making me feel less guilty and stresed. Dh had awful 2 weeks with me being so ill etc, so hoping next month is better!

Keziahhopes · 30/04/2011 21:19

Sunshine - my cycles vary from 26-32 days, it can frustrate. Why not have one more month with CBFM to see if same pattern next month, ie 8 days (short) post ovulation and then use your private cover? Or whatever plan suits you so you know what you are doing? NHS says 6 months of ttc, seriously not just a once every few months !, then go to Gp for blood tests if over 35 and 12mths ttc if under 35.

Hi Molly - sorry, head not been in right place recently to notice new people here! Hope your stay is very short before you get a bfp!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 30/04/2011 21:49

Keziah good to hear from you, was getting worried about you Smile Glad you are getting better, shame about the waiting for physio Sad

Can you believe after finding out about a pg last weekend, went to a wedding reception last night to find out another (which DP has conveniently ommitted to tell me about) to top it, they are supposed to be coming to our wedding in 7 weeks time - baby due in 8 weeks so they've said they might not be able to make it - grrrrr on all levels!!!

I just can't believe that there are so many people pregnant around me at the moment!

On a positive I am on high readings on CBFM so fingers crossed I'll be joining them all soon! x

MollyDefoe · 01/05/2011 09:46

Hi Keziah - I'm so sorry you've been so unwell. It must have been really scary, and still scary to not really know what or why it happened - I really hope you get a physio referral quickly.

I'm on CD32 of a 32-day cycle. Today's usually the day that my temperature plummets, and spotting begins. But my temperature was still high this morning, and no sign of AF at all. Will have to wait to see what happens with temperature tomorrow....

FX to anyone else testing soon, and good luck to everyone on highs/peaks!

boba82 · 01/05/2011 10:14

Keziah glad things are moving. I expect your cycle's maybe bit messed up after what you've been through recently. Keep getting better. x

SBC Good luck with the swi [cwink]! I think when you are TTC you are like a magnet to smug pregnant women, that's certainly how I felt anyway. FX this is your month.

Molly good luck with the testing.

Keziah- pleased to hear it- not a moment too soon- it really isnt good enough. Keep us posted......
Am now4 dpo- according to temps- cbfm seems to have changed pattern completely- now start d9 ( latest it can start- booklet) highs d16/17, peak d18/19, with 11d lp- 30 day cycle this month- v strange- but ovulated so not gojng to complain.
Dh analysis normal- v pleased with himself- so referral in for fertility clinic- cant wait to see what they have plsnned- i bet it isnt comfortable! Man can walk on the moon but woman still has to tolerate the damn speculum... Grrrr!
Anyway 4dpo trying not to symtom spot. Testing from 9th if no af- will try to ignore until then i guess...
Regards to all, x

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 01/05/2011 13:48

Hi all, just checking in to say got my 1st peak day today, so SWI for us, but typically means we miss the IUI again this month due to the bank holiday and both of us having to go to work Sad

Still, fingers crossed we have it nailed without the intervention.......[cblush]

Keziahhopes · 01/05/2011 21:17

SBC - yes, I don't think I noticed pregnant people and now everyone possible is pregnant and bloomig etc etc... Just keep telling ourselves that there isn't a limit to number of people who can get pregnant at one time- so doesn't limit our chances etc. You may not need the IUI this month -- SWI!!

Molly - hi, hope next few days go well for you and AF keeps away x]

Hi Frootbat - glad you got things moving with testing. How did you manage it with Gp as notice you not passed 12mths ttc mark yet! Wow!! On the negative side for your dh, when you get as far as a hospital person they may still want dh to produce another sample 3mths after this good sample, just to check on consistency - ie good results, as men renew their semen every 3 months, so he can be a little less smug if you share that with him Grin - my dh had to produce 3 samples all 3 months apart!!

Frootbat - when I got referred to fertility consultant (though not see consultant himself first time as just arrange tests) they took a full history - so lots of embarrassing questions - then ordered: more blood tests for me, an up to date smear, sti tests if you say there may be an sti issue (I didn't need those thankfully, but they like to rule out chlaymdia), and ordered a transvaginal scan - often known as "dildo cam" but it had no speculum and didn't hurt. The TSV scan checks health of uterus etc. Then after those tests, went back about 3 months later and they ordered a HSG (dreaded speculum to check if blocked fallopian tubes) and saw the consultant. Dh had issues with his semen, but should not have stopped us conceiving after so many years they say - and ChoccieChip from here had similar male issues and conceived 19mths ttc#1. Let us know how it goes, but hopefully you not need anymore tests!!

fr00tbat · 02/05/2011 08:52

Thanks keziah- not too scary to start with then!!
It has been over a year- just 10 cycles as came off pill feb 2010 and have been trying since started periods in april. Have some very long cycles, only ovulated 3 times since october. Also have a number of medical issues which gp seems to find interesting, and a family history which doesnt bode well. And now a smug husband- will let him know- although the pigeon chested pride is rather sweet- may keep in teserve if he gets on nerves.
When is stroke apointment???

MollyDefoe · 02/05/2011 08:58

Wow! I had a BFP this morning! Am kinda terrified (it's my first) but also very excited! Eeeek!

hubbylove · 02/05/2011 10:04

Hi all

Apologies for being a lurker ... But thought someone may have experienced the same??

Have been ttc for 18 months, used cbfm for 2 months and suffered a mmc in December 2010.

Have been using monitor for 2 months and Af came on 19th usual amount for 4 days. Begun having (tmi bit) brown discharge on 26th which has yet to stop, has become heavier and redder in colour.

Also am usually high fertility as per monitor from around cd9 but am on cd 14 and still showing low.

Any thoughts??

I had to have a Eprc but have had 3 af's since so wouldn't be issue would it?

Any advice much appreciated.

StormBird · 02/05/2011 12:44

Hello Graduate Lurker here just popping in to say CONGRATULATIONS MOLLY what fabulous news!!!

For everyone else:

XXXX

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 02/05/2011 16:40

Molly CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are latest of hopefully many more graduates to come - please pop back from time to time to give us updates on your progress! Think you are very good advert for the CBFM - 1st cycle???!!!!

Hubbylove - sorry I can't answer your question, but I have no doubt someone will be along sometime this evening to answer for you.

Day 2 of peak for me - already trying not to symptom spot, even though probably only ov today! I guess I'm into the 2WW with you Elm

Keziahhopes · 02/05/2011 17:26

Congrats molly. There is a graduates thread from here you can link to. Can't link as on mobile as mum rushed to hospital with suspected heart attack. Dh kindly drove me 2 hrs to be here.

boba82 · 02/05/2011 18:10

Shit Keziah I hope your mum is ok? Your luck has got to change soon hun, chin up x x x

hubbylove sorry I can't be of any help either but welcome to a lovely thread

MollyDefoe · 02/05/2011 18:49

Ahhh, thank you all for the congrats! Stormbird I've got a whole Boots carrier bag of pg tests to do over the next few days! But I've been temping too, and my temps are still v high, and AF is 2 days late and nowhere to be seen: so all of that, combined with the faintish line on the first response test, makes me think it's probably true. But I'll do a few more tests to be sure!

Keziah - I'm so sorry about your mother. What an awful time you've been having. I really really hope she makes a good recovery.

Karbea · 03/05/2011 16:32

keziah ((hugs)) you poor thing dreadful time for you, hope your mum gets better soon!

I got my peak today, so swi this AM and OH came home for lunch so more then.

We get married on sat so when we are back from h-moon I'm going to go to the docs as we've been trying for 6 months now Sad

Keziahhopes · 03/05/2011 17:59

Hope tests get stronger Molly.

Hi Hubbylove - hope KC around as she is the oracle!

Mum stable now, I hope. Scary time, she had a heart attack 7yrs ago. This is her 2nd.

Karbea - have a lovely lovely wedding and honeymoon Smile Your plan for dr's on return sounds good - as initial blood tests etc are useful indicators - eg a colleague found she had a thryoid problem which is why she couldn't conceive etc. Hope it is as simple as that for you!

Frootbat - ah timing makes sense. I have had all tests with fertility consultant - took 3 appointments, over 9 months, as needed to keep checking Dh's semen levels (which is one of the main issues for us), had:

  • blood tests, prolactin, thyroid, Day 3 and Day 21 (well depends on cycle!), Dh had some hormonal blood tests too as semen issues.
  • a transvaginal scan (had sti tests if needed at own gp and smear)
  • then the HSG which was clear. Only if they find issues there will they go further - like a lap etc.

So hope all goes well for you.

Ilovekittyelise · 03/05/2011 18:25

OMG keziah i can't believe all the terrible things that are happening to you. i hope you get the massive karmic balancer you deserve soon ;-)

i havent actually been to the graduates thread maybe i should, still lurk here mostly! been off work today with horrendous diarrhea (is it humanly possible to spell that word without looking it up) the past 2 days.

congrats molly thats wonderful news, hope you have fun trying out all the different pregnancy tests you no doubt have stashed. that first BFP is so bizarre isnt it - if you are anything like me the last time you probably did one was when you were at uni or wherever you were in your early twenties, terrified that it might be positive...

cheekycurls · 03/05/2011 19:06

hello everyone!

i'm a fraud as i'm not using the clearblue fertility monitor (yet)
just wanted to ask a question before i buy it

i've been TTC#2 for nearly 3 years now without any success :(
i've had a few test done by GP all come back clear, have regular periods 29-31 days & OV tests i've been using are cheapies off ebay

question i have is how long did it take to get pregnant using this as OH is a bit of a tightwad and he thinks it's not a good idea to get this if we'll still be TTC for another 3 years cos of the cost! Angry

any advice would be great for me so i can carry on nagging him but with a bit of back up! lol

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 03/05/2011 19:21

Hi Cheeky, most of us on here are yet to be successful, however we have a pretty good graduate list on this and the previous volumes.

Personally I have found it takes out some of the stress as I don't have to think about the day of the month and whether I have or haven't ovulated as it is clear as anything. The success rates the company claim are pretty impressive. The cost is greatly reduced if you look on ebay or amazon (they can be reset so secondhand is not a big issue). If you don't know when you are ovulating it will prove it's worth in no time - but if you are well organised the normal OPKS do the trick.

HTH

cheekycurls · 03/05/2011 19:52

i've been looking on ebay and seen a few there

i've very organised and always got a positive on tests i'm using now but last 2 months my periods have gotten longer so i'm just testing pretty much everyday and feel like i'm losing what little control i did have on my cycle! Confused

boba82 · 04/05/2011 11:20

Karbea best of luck for Saturday, hope it all goes well for you and you have a lovely holiday - maybe a honeymoon baby?!

Keziah glad to hear your mum is stable and I echo the karma balancer comment. x

kitty ha ha on the spelling comment. When we started TTC I did not miss the irony of the HPTs I had sat praying were negative and was then in opposite position. Come join us over in other thread. I still like to keep on this thread as it feels like home and am still too nervous!

Cheeky I echo what SBC said. It defo takes stress out of following your cycles, gives you a good idea of when to SWI and I used the info it gave me when we were seen at the fertility clinic so well worth the expense I say!! Good luck.
