AF about to rear her ugly head I feel, so annoying.

I have already worked out next month's fertile period, really bad timing and missing on holiday by a week which is so frustrating, such a missed opportunity.

Am feeling :( tonight

Although feeling very :) about the BFP on the First Time Frolickers thread

mememummy · 16/06/2011 19:51

its here cbfm is here... however sticks arent so upset could cry lol do u think it would be ok if i set it for like 7pm? cuz ther is a 6 hour window? i work days and nights i start at 7am and finish at 7:30pm and vise versa so that would be the most practical?

Keziahhopes · 16/06/2011 20:31

meremummy if sticks not come in post in time you can buy them, albeit for more money at chemists etc. Oh timings sound hard - I think it is meant to have first urine of the day, but I could be wrong it is a while since I read the leaflet with it. I have been known to put mine in a bigger handbag and take it to work etc to set my button (or even give it to my dh to press at 9am as it is harder for me to do Grin)!!

Sorry you so Sad tonight Far

Just in the nick of time!!!

Loup23 · 17/06/2011 10:47

dont think pink was good far had more this morning after DTD so think it's just AF showing her head and at 10/11 dpo which isn't great. Feeling Sad about the whole thing really thought this month was it....

Good luck to all, it's about time we had a BFP on here x

MiniH · 17/06/2011 17:45

Loup - sorry to hear about evil AF rearing her head. At least you can enjoy a nice glass of Wine this evening to cheer you up.

I had my gp appointment today and am just bored of it all. She didn't have a clue tbh - commented that dh's results were o.k. as the count was normal (ignoring the fact that you can have billions of the little things, but if they are all deformed and swimming in the wrong direction that's not a whole lot of use!). She's referred me to the gynae (not sure how that helps with dh's swimmers either) but maybe they'll have a few more answers. she said it'll be about six weeks for the referral. I think i'm just over emotional as AF is here, so stupidly hormonal anyway.

I think i'm also a bit sad about it being father's day this weekend - its my first one since my dad died last year, and if i'm honest I thought i'd at least have a bfp by the time this one came around.

sorry for the long rant - I think i'm the one who needs the large glass of Wine !!

Sorry AF got you Farfallarocks Mines just leaving me and I've never, ever, had such a shit week. Ive spent most of it in the loos at work crying. Had to finish early today just to get through and have been so close to walking out and not going back but hey ho, Friday now :)

Yayyeee Auntie, I had fun playing with mine when I first got it but it arrived on day 7 of my cycle so I had to wait! I am far to impatient for that and had read the instructions a million times over.

Dont cry meme you can probably get some from somewhere like boots? Im sure Ive seen them in asda too.

Right, off to hit the wine. Happy weekend all ! x

boba82 · 17/06/2011 18:50

loup mini and raspberry sorry you're all feeling down, enjoy lots of Wine

mini ask for a print out of your DHs results. There are some websites you can look at to get an idea of what they mean and some of the ladies on here (Keziah & KC) are very knowledgable too! Also handy to have if you get a referral to a fertility clinic. Hopefully the gynae will do lots of tests and give you some answers. I think you'll feel better once you have an actual date for an appointment, something to focus on Smile x

OP posts:
Keziahhopes · 17/06/2011 21:02

MiniH - a referral onto a gynae is great result, as Gp's not all good on fertility treatment and can't do more testing. And if they are saying 6 weeks then that is really quick, honest - mine was 3-4 months. The gynae will want to do more tests to see if there are any obvious barriers to fertility for you both. I had, over a few appointments:
day 3 and day 21 (ie 7 days post ovulation) blood tests
thyroid and prolactin blood tests
dh had 2 semen analysis tests with them - one test may be a one off bad test, remember men replace their sperm every 3 months so it will take a while between tests. They can advise on how to improve sperm - no smoking, usual stuff etc.
Internal scan to check my uterus etc
STI tests I got my practise nurse to do at same time as a recent smear - I knew I didn't have any,but before you have fertility treatment they insist on them so I got ahead of the game!!
A HSG - internal scan with dye (not too painful or long, no sedation needed) to check if fallopian tubes blocked.

Yes, do get a print out of all results from your receptionist at gp's - we have a folder and got all of ours, most helpful!! Good advice from Boba. What percentage of normal sperm did you have? My dh's improved with taking one Menevit a day as I think I have said before; other makes am sure very good too of male supplements to improve sperm quality and numbers. Does your dh smoke or drink - is this an area to cut out to help?

mememummy · 17/06/2011 21:12

i think i had a shadow on my OPK ? i may have been looking to hard!
spoke with the matron re pregnancy today... she wasnt to impressed oops!! oh well!!!!

I advised a women with some ov spotting to join mumsnet today.. thought it would give her some reassurance as she was 6/40

mumsnet is now available on nhs lol

Loup23 · 18/06/2011 07:47

mini sorry to hear you're down, I know what you mean re father's day I'm focusing on next year now when I really thought I'd have a BFP by now.

meme are you using OPK for pregnancy test? If so hope it is a line...!

Sorry to hear you're down raspberry hope you enjoy your wknd with lots of Wine

Annoyingly I have had no further bleeding since yesterday and temperature shot up this morning, i/c still saying BFN so not sure what's going on.

Hope you are all having nice weekends wherever you are xx

mememummy · 19/06/2011 09:27

No just to see if I'm laying any eggs would appear not!! Got a bfn today not surprised tho cuz I have no idea when Af is due or if I will ever have one again ?

weimy · 19/06/2011 14:19

Raspberry Ive just finished too and it was a hard one for me, I am going to give it one more month I think and then resign myself to focusing on the dogs. xx

farfallarocks · 20/06/2011 08:35

Girls, some good news here!
Spotting continued for 4 days but no AF. Did a test or five yesterday and BFP! Can't believe it. Still feeling a bit crampy and obviously very early days so am trying not to get my hopes up.
Telling DH on father's day that I was up duffed was very special indeed.
Fingers crossed for a stick bean :)

Loup23 · 20/06/2011 09:46

Wow congrats far thats fantastic news! Fx for the next 8 or so months!

I'm still spotting on and off but not AF, so fed up with it all am sure there is something wrong with my hormones if can't even get a proper AF.... Impossible to restart the CBFM as well as I'm not sure which day is CD1...

Good luck to all, how is everyone else getting on? x

boba82 · 20/06/2011 09:52

Congratulations farfallarocks! Some graduates from this thread are over here if you want to pop over for a chat or questions!

loup is this the first time your cycle has been messed up? Sorry if you've mentioned before this thread gets so busy I find it hard to keep up at times!

OP posts:
farfallarocks · 20/06/2011 10:01

Thank you! And best of luck to everyone on here.
I think the CBFM really helped us, especially to identify the days leading upto the LH surge (we never did it on the peak this month, just the highs)

Loup23 · 20/06/2011 10:07

thanks for your message boba, since coming off the pill AF has been lighter generally but since m/c in March the last three have been almost non-existent, this month particularly, I have been spotting since Thurs/Fri (9/10dpo) but can go the whole day or 24 hours with nothing....... Just so confused as to why it's happening and wondering whether it is stopping me getting pregnant.... I had my progresterone tested at 7dpo and am supposed to get the other hormones done at CD4 or 5 (hard to figure out when that is though!). Maybe I should press for my prog results over the phone at least??

Sorry for the me post - hope your bump is coming along nicely! x

mrsb33 · 20/06/2011 11:06

Hi ladies, hope someone can hel as im confused (doesnt take alot believe me)
a lovely lady from a thread im on kindly gave me her fertility monitor as she no longer had use for it.
Ive re-set the monitor and added in my cycle day, which yesterday was 5.
ive switched it on today and its still saying 5?? i thought id wee on a stick and see what happened but its just telling me to remove??? help!!!!!

boba82 · 20/06/2011 12:24

Loup It was after I came off the pill I discovered I had PCOS (after a long time!) I used to have what you are describing although I have never had a m\c. Defo sounds like a hormone thing to me either caused by the m\c which will hopefully resolve itself or maybe something like PCOS? I was on pill for 10 years before I came off to TTC so it masked a LOT of the symptoms I get with PCOS! I would go see GP again, you have the right as it's stressing you out and there's nothing wrong with wanting some answers.

We had to wait a year TTC before they would refer us to FC but you may get an earlier referal to a gynae?

OP posts:
Loup23 · 20/06/2011 13:48

Thanks boba I have seen a gynae who has done the prog tests and will do the 4/5 day tests when I can work out when that is! I guess I'll go Thursday/Friday and hope that that's about right. And then ask for a follow up to discuss. I'm sure the stressing isn't helpful but it would be nice to have regular AFs to start with! Thanks for your help and advice x

weimy · 20/06/2011 15:15

Yay farfalla!!!

Keziahhopes · 20/06/2011 17:31

Congrats far - enjoy putting yourself on the graduates list Smile

Loup - worth going for blood tests when you think day 4/5 is this month and you can always do the same tests next month if you have an obvious AF. It can take some time to return to normal after a miscarriage - as I have found.

Loup23 · 20/06/2011 20:59

thanks keziah i'll go along on Wednesday or Friday! The prog results were 66.9 on 7dpo, whatever that means! The gynae said it meant I had ovulated so that's a good start......

BLimey what a palava all this is, why did I take the pill for 10 years?!?! Hope you are all enjoiyong your evenings x
