Morning ladies,

Shock at so many newbies! Welcome to you all though and hopefully you will all be getting your BFPs soon. I second what the others have said about waiting for a BFN first though.

[cep] Good luck today, I will be thinking about you and look forward to good news.

[hadrian] that sucks, I know how you feel though and understand your lurkiness for now.

Feeling better today, have had a fab weekend. DH and I made the weekend all about us and didn't make any plans with friends. We even had the best SWI on sat for a long long time, was passionate, romantic and bloody brilliant instead of a quick in out in out shake it all about in the hope we produce something a fortnight later Hmm Grin Then had a lovely sunday lunch at mums yesterday.

Can I ask, I have been taking EPO capsules, zinc and Spatone iron supplement (the iron mainly for my horrendous AFs) but POAS (ovulation) this morning and there is a very faint line - CD10 woohoo! I appreciate I have got PCOS though so it's not necessarily showing accurate results but they seemed to work exactly how they should last month so I am using them again. basically, I know I should stop EPO now but what am I meant to take instead, do I just carry on with the zinc and folic acid? I have also been giving zinc to dh, is that right? I will also start having brazil nuts again for the next couple of weeks. I'm new to this supplement taking lark (apart from the brazil nuts last month) so am tying myself a bit with them.

lily06 · 21/03/2011 08:29

Good luck today Cep, will be thinking of you.

meliesmummy · 21/03/2011 08:35

Morning everyone

Chloe someone (maybe collie?) advised to take epo until ovulation and then flax seed oil. And maybe grapefruit juice? Although I haven't because I hate grapefruit! Grin for the positive opk though! Sounds like a lovely weekend.

Hi happy, make yourself comfortable x

Great news banana!!!!

Hi to lily and everyone else, and hope you are ok Cep

Collie2 · 21/03/2011 09:04

chloe it was me that suggested flax seed, on the recommendation of someone who moved to the common room (izzy or velvet I think) here's a link to the link they gave me, and here is a link to something on flax seed. Glad you had nice weeken and lots of fun swi Smile

sorry for not saying hi to everyone properly, and to the newbies. My nan passed away on Saturday so I'm a bit to Sad

as for me been POAS for OPK and have had feint lines for 4 days so im hoping for positive today. Have SWI twice a day for the past 4 days though Blush OH cant beleive his luck, as you all know im desperate for a bfp this month or i will have to wait a whole year before we can try again Sad

right im settling in with a big Brew packet of choccy biccies and going to try and catch up Wink

meliesmummy · 21/03/2011 09:42

Hi mumtum, sounds exhausting but fx it works and you get your bfp! Hope it's all ok at home x

Hi collie, how are you today? Was it your mums mum or dads? Big hugs to you, are you able to have some time off work?

hopeful1 · 21/03/2011 10:00

collie - so sorry to hear about your nan

Cep - very best of luck for today

I went to see my GP today. Because i would only be 5 weeks I can wait to see if I miscarry naturally or go for a D&C, I dont know what to do as just want to get on with starting again and as I need fertiltiy treatment it is a long drawn out process.

Could anyone advise whether I should have D&C or wait to see what happens naturally.....not a very patient person though so waiting is never a good option for me!!

securegal · 21/03/2011 10:02

Morning all...

Collie - I'm so sorry to hear about your nan. Thinking of you and your family.

Cep - thinking of you today also - good luck!!

*Chloe8 - that sounds like a lovely weekend!

MumTum - nice to meet you! I am a newbie on here, so have got some catching up to do! Is there a reason why you can't TTC for a year after this month? Is OH going away?

Waves to all...

SGxxx

Youremindmeofthebabe · 21/03/2011 10:38

collie Sorry to hear about your nan. Hope you're ok.

chloe nice to see you back, and that you've had a nice weekend. I was starting to worry about you. I know cd1-5 only seem to get worse with time. Hugs.

Chloe55 · 21/03/2011 11:08

collie thanks for the links and so sorry to hear about your nan Sad Must be hard as I presume you haven't shared your recent news with her or did you get a chance to before she passed away? Big hugs for you.

hopeful it's a difficult decision, I had a MC at 5 weeks but I only knew when I started bleeding anyway so the decision was taken out of my hands. I had a D&C with my last MC as I found out at my 12 week scan but the baby had died 3 weeks before and so there was no way I would wait any longer for the process to happen naturally. The D&C will involve a general anaesthetic which in itself can be quite a traumatic thing for some people but the procedure itself is quick and relatively pain free and you are less likely to suffer any infection afterwards. On the other hand there is always a risk with a D&C re fertility and things (very slight) so I would def do your research first.

mumtum bloody hell, I bet you and dh are knackered!! My gp advised to swi every other day to ensure sperm is rich but I know lots of people on here have had joy with the SMEP plan but I am not sure swi twice a day will be a benefit or not? Confused hope it does work for you though.

yrmotb thanks for thinking of me, yes the first few days are pretty pants, aren't they?

Right, gonna research my flax seed oil now!

cep · 21/03/2011 11:25

morning all,

welcome hopeful and happy so sorry about your losses.

mumtum good to see you, you said you were having a bad time in rl i hope you're ok. and fx for this month.

chloe i took epo up to when i thought i'd ov'd (in fact accidentally 3 days past it) then brazil nuts.

collie i hope you're doing ok hon.

well good new from me, little bean with hb measuring 9 mm (6 weeks 6 days) so 3 days less than i thought but not too bad. i am relieved but (and i know stupid) also still worried, i can't help but compare to last time. they don't do reassurance scans so unless i have another bleed will have to wait until 12 week scan now. Confused they couldn't see a reason for bleed, so i'm assuming it was a uti. haven't had a bleed for 3 days now and finished anti b's this morning.

hope everyone is ok.

lily06 · 21/03/2011 11:35

Hooray cep that's fab news, so relieved for you.

meliesmummy · 21/03/2011 11:36

Yippee Cep!!!! I've been hanging around here all morning waiting for news, im so so happy for you.

I've read mixed stuff about flax seed oil Chloe, I bought some and then decided not to take it because the epo messed up my cycle and I decided just to stick to brazil nuts and pregnacare conception for now.

harassedinherpants · 21/03/2011 11:37

Cep glad you had a good scan and got to see a hb!! Have you thought about going private for a reassurance scan? That's what we'll do if I can't persuade doc/mw to do one.

Thanks for moving me down to BFP list.... omg it's feeling real now, have had nausea and tiredness hit over the weekend.

Chloe can I also recommed activated vit B6 P5P. I swear that's what got me my bfp's! I see a kinesiologist and use her version, but you can buy it online. Must be P5P though, not the normal stuff.

mumtum twice a day?? You must both be knackered lol. Fx for you.

Sorry to see more newbies

Chloe55 · 21/03/2011 11:37

Brilliant news cep have been lurking throughout the morning waiting for your update! Funny how we feel 'close' to people we don't even know isn't it??!

Oh, I forgot to put in my first post this morning - I wanted to apologise for my posts last week. It was aday of BFPs and that, ultimately, is the aim goal for everyone on here and I feel so selfish for being grumpy and not embracing everyone's BFPs. So, here I am now, in a better frame of mind and these are for collie, izzy, banana and harrassed

meliesmummy · 21/03/2011 11:42

Sorry meant to say hi to secure gal and hopeful, I would second what Chloe said and do some research before deciding. I didn't want an erpc because I've previously had a c section and I was (probably completely irrationally) terrified of more scaring affecting my future fertility but on the other had I wouldn't want to have no control over when it would start, have they offered you the medical option? That's what I chose. Have they offered you the chance to go through your options with a dr?

meliesmummy · 21/03/2011 11:44

Don't be silly Chloe, this is a place for downs as well as ups x

harassedinherpants · 21/03/2011 11:49

hopeful I had an erpc in Jan. I should have been 10+1, but the scan showed that the baby's heart had stopped beating at 7 weeks. I couldn't bear the waiting, and both my mw and my friend who's a mw and had mc's recommended I go for the erpc. I hadn't had any surgical procedures before so I felt that was going for me. The procedure itself was fine tbh and I recovered from it quickly. I was unlucky though and got a post op infection, and then a dose of thrush due to the ab's!! Just got a bfp though, despite everything. Thinking of you.

Chloe stop being daft Grin.

Rupsje · 21/03/2011 12:02

cep I am so pleased for you! Congratulations Smile

hopeful - very sorry for your loss. It is difficult having to take a decision about how to go on, and I agree with the others about doing research. I had an ERPC just over a week ago because I could not bear the waiting and wanted to move on. The procedure was fine, no pain and no issues afterwards either. I do have to wait now for the pregnancy hormones to leave my body.

collie so sorry about your nan. Hope you are ok and looking after yourself.

Bumpwanted · 21/03/2011 12:08

Hi girls

Have been lurking here for a couple of weeks after a miscarriage at 5 weeks a month ago. I have "chatted to a couple of you" over the last few months though so I wanted to say...

Congrats to everyone with BFPS - it makes me feel so much better to know that just because we have had MCs those BFP are possible again.

Cep huge congratulations to you on the scan. I don't know where you are based but some hospitals (like St Georges in London) will let you self refer and you just go and tick the sheet that says you are "concerned" or have had some pain or bleeding and they will scan you - might be worthwhile if you want another reassurance scan just to make you feel better in a few weeks

and Loup hun I am so so sorry to hear about your MC Sad. I am totally gutted for you but hope we'll both get our BFPs again soon.

I think my cycle is pretty much getting back to normal as I MC'd so early. I actually think I am ovulating now but we've decided to wait one period to make sure all is ok. Half of me wants to crack on, but if something went wrong again I think for me, I would worry that I didn't know if it was because we tried to soon or there really is some other reason why it didn't stick again. Its totally a personal choice though and I can also totally relate to those ladies who want to get going asap.

Anyway, here's hoping for lots of new BFPs that stick! Grin

xx

hopeful1 · 21/03/2011 12:09

oh cep what wonderful news...so happy for you

Thanks all for your responses.

Melies- I feel the same, have had a D&C and c section before and i dont want any more scarring in case it affects my fertility so unnless we are both irrational, I think thats a perfectly normal concern!!

I am feeling a bit crampy this morning (hope its not in my head, so may wait a day or two)

I have contacted the fertility clinic to get their advice as they are experts, just waiting for them to call me back

cep · 21/03/2011 12:16

hi bump how are you doing? no i have to go via dr. Sad i'll see how i go over the days. i'm a bit paranoid driving people crazy so i may end up caving before the 12 weeks. i have an app already with the gp on monday i'll see how i feel and may ask for another nearer on the friday .

Thanks everyone. Grin i'll tell you now if i loose this scan pic i'll plant myself in epu cause it will be too much like last time. i've already had the bleed, the few day change of dates, if i loose the pic i'm done for. Grin

chloe like i said the other day please don't feel guilty for having low points we all do. Did you get yout acc stuff sorted today?

Chloe55 · 21/03/2011 12:22

Apparantly it can take a couple of days either side of the date specified in the letter Hmm Am furious though as it should state that, then people won't rely on it!! Anyway, it all worked out fine as mum very kindly lent us some cash over the weekend so still got to have a nice meal and wine at home.

Lock that scan in a safe cep! Grin

Bumpwanted · 21/03/2011 12:22

Hi cep !!

Ah you aren't paranoid - I think what you are feeling is totally natural so don't worry I am sure you aren't driving people crazy. Sending you lots of good vibes as is everyone on here!

Its been a rough month but I am feeling a lot better this week and think I feel ready to try again..just waiting for one period now which I hope won't take forever!

Collie2 · 21/03/2011 12:25

Just popping on quckily to say YAY for cep so so pleased.
