Donne thy robes and come join the hagges round a crackling fire made of ye olde pee sticks, as we run around nekkid, high on snorted baybeedust, and do our straynge erotick rituals on the altar of ye inconstant moon.

Come one, come all as we cast spelles and do any Magick we can finde on our queste for an elusive win.

Bring thy gynne for yon cauldron and help thyself to a laddle, as we prepare the incantationnes...

Happy birthday to the miniBoo. 3 is an awesome age. Grin

So - went to see a chap for some acupuncture last night, he took my pulse and said he wasn't going to touch me until I'd given up wheat and dairy. Come back in a month. Sounds a bit shit, but think he was kinda cool actually. He is a flowers in his hair hippy type of chappie. Explained his rationale etc. However, I will not give up milk in my tea. That is just too damn far.

Is there any bailey in the cauldron? Adds Lidl's finest gyn(n!)e, and some Pastis from the back of our cupboard of filth... And some Fejoa vodka... Grin

rocketleaf · 28/01/2011 10:08

Oh I forgot Pheonix!! Think that was 94 and 95 but not sure.

Big Chill toilets are usually all right as long as you don't go to the ones actually in the stage area. There are ones just outside the entrances that are always much better. And I always take a blow up bed these days and a gazebo and deck chairs and cooking stuff. My cheffy friend comes with us and always brings fabulous food. One year we even made Mojitos with fresh lime and mint and everything! (Although we still do a lot of getting trolleyed and falling over, but it is civilised falling over, with grace) My 19 years old paraboot wearing, scrumoy drinking, VeganVege burger eating self would not recognise me Wink

rocketleaf · 28/01/2011 10:09

Oh and boo I am sorry, I am a bad friend, no card or pressie for miniboo. I am officially rubbish :(

Ariesgirl · 28/01/2011 10:15

Wheat and dairy Brownie? Sounds shit. I can understand the dairy thing, as there are many people who ask why humans drink the milk of another species, but as for wheat, we are omnivores who have always eaten grasses and grains.

Maybe you should try another one?

owlbooty · 28/01/2011 10:22

Rie it was the fact the blue was mixed into what was loosely described as 'punch' and delivered in a mixing bowl in a student flat. It was never going to end well.

Brownie I've got to say I'm very wary of anyone who is not a university qualified dietician giving out any form of dietary advice - apart from anything else you're at risk of losing out on important roughage and calcium intake unless you either take vitamin pills or make a real effort to find those things somewhere else. I'm a bit ranty when it comes to diet. Parents are both food scientists, can't help it, sorry.

Lidl gynne!

Mmmmmm. Perfect for this time in the morning Grin

ItsMeortheTrog · 28/01/2011 10:42

laughing at the Cities of Gold reference rie. he does have a certain Manga quality about him!

ItsMeortheTrog · 28/01/2011 10:44

Wheat and dairy? I think that's what my entire diet consists of these days Brownie. Pizza must be contraband then Smile

Mr Trog is going to Big Chill this year. He went to Leeds festival last year and came back miserable and smelly so let's hope Big Chill is an improvement.

HighPriestessBoo · 28/01/2011 11:24

Big Chill is just round the corner from me. I have been once, liked it, but I found the security a bit aggressive. Mr Scruffs tea tent is ace though and the site is beautiful - we go there in summer for picnics.

Ariesgirl · 28/01/2011 11:31

Yes well. Perhaps Murray won't lose after all.

Ariesgirl · 28/01/2011 11:44

Or...maybe he will.

I'll shut up.

milanomum · 28/01/2011 12:57

Brownie Dairy and wheat? no way! I don't think I eat much else to be honest, but I have a work-mate who has given them both up and she looks fantastic. Maybe 'cos she only eats grass or summat.

Coming from the island of Oirland I was never really into festivals (cue deprived-Irish rant) but have done my fair share of sleeping in muck and concert-going.

Happy birthday to mini-boo! I wish I were 3 again.

I hate tennis.

Ariesgirl · 28/01/2011 14:19

Bejayzuz, Oi niver knew knew ye were Oirish, Milano. Where are you from?

AlpinePony · 28/01/2011 14:37

boo's woo eh? Wink

I hope you're all well - did anyone manage to win a baybee in my absence? I thought I'd won and was 3 days late - but droid arrived and have spent the last 3 days in floods of tears which is v unlike me.

Ariesgirl · 28/01/2011 14:55

Well look who's just skied in!

Three daysworth of tears, OurPony? Tis most unlike you, me dear. Are you ok now? Granted that would be very normal behaviour from any BESH whose droid turned up after three days of pretending. Bastard thing. No wins here I'm afraid. In fact we had three FAILURES on the same day - me, SunnyD and Trumpkin. :(

Und wie war Ossterreich?

kniveschau · 28/01/2011 15:12

Afternoon BESHingers.

MeteoriteMole how old is mini mole? It's great when they read Smallvegetableknife's (prefer minicheeze-must go back to a cheese based nomdeplume) first read letter was M for Mummy too, I think she can read about ten now and def her own name /polishes chufty badge

I am currently up to my ear in red and blue dye-tis not for my hair though, tis for the most excellent and challenging spiderman cake I am making for Miniboo. It's going rather well so far, but further details are to be kept from our gynnequeen I wish I were good enough to make this a business venture. I really enjoy making da cakeys!

AlpinePony · 28/01/2011 15:15

PersilChick Yesterday's tears were somewhat compounded by driving 500 miles through a blizzard in the dark with a screaming baybee in the back and getting stopped by the polizei who ran us through Interpol.

kniveschau · 28/01/2011 15:15

pony droid lateness (and the 3 days extra WOOFL) is the root of the root of the root of all evil.

Can I add some tequila to the couldron? Ive had it since my sister came back from honeymoon 3 years ago-maybe it's hallucenagenic (sp!!!) by now?

AlpinePony · 28/01/2011 15:23

I've got something from the Czech (?) given to me for a housewarming in 2004. It remains unopened. I was saving it for a particularly troublesome drain, but bottom's up eh?

Tbh, I didn't feel diffed, I felt fluey but when you're 3 days late you can't help but feel you've won. Wanker droid.

starnosemole · 28/01/2011 16:53

Hey piningforthealps (see what I did there ) welcome back, so sorry about the little metal fucker fucking about, have a nipple tweak to go with this magnum of cauldron punch. How was the actual skiiiiiing? Did ponyboy get down any black runs?!
Happy Birthday Li'lLordBoo hope you have an awesome day and eat loads of cake and get a really cool red and blue mouth from all the food colouring, and then get a bit hyper, but stop as soon as mum is tired and go to bed on time so she can drink witches brew relax.
molette is two and half forkyfrau (joey deacon emotion but what's chau about?) Am very proud of myself today as have struck blow at the heart of genderisation in clothing by buying technically boys shoes for her- they have a boat on, I assume only boys go on boats. An alarm went off in the shop and I was accosted by assistants in fairy costumes waving glitter and princess butterflies around, but I would not be swayed.

RE festivals- I am so the person who should have been o many many festivals, but somehow always managed to not go by mistake- blame Scottish uni (far) Spending holidays working on campsites (abroad, also far) and school terms (no way Doing Glastonbury and coming in on Monday) Its on my list of things to do, but am concerned am too old to lose virginity? Tell me about Beautiful Days? I want to go toooooo

Ariesgirl · 28/01/2011 16:59

See y'all on Thursday hags. All the BESHt.

xxx

PS might pop on once or twice before that Grin

owlbooty · 28/01/2011 17:10

Welcome back PonyoftheAlps ! Fucking holiday droid, every fucking time.

Nosely I had never been to a festival until I was 32. Husband had never been to one and he is 7 years older than I am. Tis never too late. You just need to take more comfortable bedding with you as ancient bones do not cope well with sleeping on bare ground.

Apparently Bestival is rather nice; I might go there one day. I grew up within easy drive of Glastonbury but failed to ever go to the festival. And anyway, it's in Pilton, not Glastonbury. Pilton I tells thee.

Knifey could you call small one ParingKnife? Or Teaspoon? Or dessertfork.

I have been swimming. Go me.

ItsMeortheTrog · 28/01/2011 17:32

Hello equinemountainlady. I am new to BESH and I hope you approve. Sorry to hear of droidness coming late - always miserable especially at the end of a holiday. Hope you are partaking of the cauldron of Eastern European firewater and blue wkd.

owl I agree with coming to festivals later in life. The last one I went to we made sure the boys arrived first to set up tents, deckchairs and nachos with various dips. God knows what we looked like.

I made minitrog a Very Hungry Caterpillar cake last year for his birthday. I spent more on icing than a whole cake would have cost and still have food colouring down my nails that is the colour of bitey's astro-turf poo.

Over and out. Am off home from work soon but will hopefully pop in over the weekend.

Truffkin · 28/01/2011 17:34

Happy Birthday to MiniBoo, happy birthday to MiniBoo, happy birthday little spiderman, happy birthday miniBoo Hope the webbed wonder themed day has gone down well.

Welcome back MyLittlePony and props on the police camera action, erm, action. Sympathies on the droid, we've been enjoying droid torturing recently so am sure we could have thought of suitably evil punishments for yours.

I too have been to Phoenix festival and apart from Cropredy and the Warwick folk festival it's the only one I've been to. I like the idea of seeing the bands and being part of that sweaty, excited crowd but am so not into camping, mud, not showering for 3 days that I could never bring myself to do it. At Cropredy we have hired canal barges and camper vans so at least had a bathroom to retire to at the end of the day. I went to Phoenix when I was about 16 and my Uncle worked for a record Company, which meant I got to go backstage and meet the bands and the moment I met Gary Stringer from Reef I thought I might die of excitement. It was also when my dep love for Massive Attack was cemented, what a fantastic set they played.

I have been working from home today and have got a surprisingly decent amount of work done. I have also managed to do some washing (horrifyingly I think it's been about 2 weeks since we last washed any clothes and I am fast running out of pants and socks), make a curry and sort the recycling out. I am also wearing my new navy blue Converse all stars that arrived yesterday

I'M wondering whether I might suggest some drinklets to TGB so I can show them off. We've not been out for a drink locally so far this year so I think it would be warranted.

This is a ridiculously long post considering it contains almost no interesting information. L8rs.

Truffkin · 28/01/2011 17:36

P.S my SiL strawpedoed a bottle of blue WKD on her wedding day and was left with a dayglo blue stain on the bodice of her lovely dress. Quality times.

(I have a feeling I may have told that story on here before. Soz for repeats, I have a limited amount of anecdotes, clearly)

starnosemole · 28/01/2011 18:26

Right, have read entire thread- which I hope you realise meant seeing the clarksonkinigate again, and I have found no information as to where ariel is off to, how am i going to keep following her now? Wherever it be, I hope it's simply lovely- hurry back, gives her a kick up the bum as she departs for lack of faith in the miserable scottish one.
