A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread!

owlbooty · 16/01/2011 13:56

You're absolutely not a horrible person for not wanting to see her. This is just self-preservation! In all honesty I don't know if it gets easier. I suspect that it must but I'll be totally honest - if I hadn't got the bfp I'd still be wanting to stay well away from her and if this goes wrong I am quite sure I will not be able to face her at all.

It's good that you have people to talk to - I think that does make a big difference.

ochaye · 16/01/2011 14:00

Oh my goodness ... I'm arriving after 4 PAGES of the new thread to say congrats mamap! Lovely, lovely news!!

Now, off to catch up on the rest of yesterday's news Grin

nickstermum · 16/01/2011 14:11

Hadrian I am still steering clear of my pal who is due on my due date even with a bfp. Family must be harder! Losing your mum must have Been hard enough without mc as well. (((hugs)))

Owl I just haven't much of an appetite unless it's for sweets or stodgy shite! Poor bean' and hoping the tearfulness down to sheer exhaustion or hormones! Still don't think of self as pg but that will comein time.

Hope those temps stay high girls and for some bfp action v soon xx

hadrian · 16/01/2011 14:51

Hello nicks, that makes me feel better. Much better to think that I'm preserving self rather than being completely disfunctional. When you say you don't think of yourself as pg is that partly preservation too? Am wondering what it would feel like to be pg again - can't imagine anything except total terror. So sad that a MC can take the joy out of being pg. Are you able to enjoy the ride or is it all too scary?

Maybe I'm just tired today. My job is pretty full on so from Monday to Friday I'm not able to think about anything else and it all comes back to me at the weekend.

youremindmeofthebabe · 16/01/2011 15:22

here is the offending chart

Sorry for quick in and out, off out, be back tomorrow. Thanks for the support.

pigletmania · 16/01/2011 15:31

Just MC for the second time, took a year from the last MC to concieve this one, but just had bleeding on Thursday 6 weeks 5 days, and I think that I passed the sac. Feeling really down, at least I have a little girl to focus on. When can I I ttc again? Everyone seems to by pg with their 2,3,4 baby, its in all the papers, friends announcement aghhgh

DachshundsWantPuppies · 16/01/2011 15:33

yrmotb I don't know much about charting, but that looks pretty darned good to me from the research I've done. Just give the poasing a bit of time! :) FX...

MummyAbroad · 16/01/2011 15:36

hello ladies!

just read everything and now I have forgotten what I wanted to say..Grin

hadrian I am another one one with a SIL who was pregnant at the same time as me. She was two months behind me, she has now had her baby, all through the pregnancy and the first time I saw him was quite hard. I have to say though that it has got much easier. I think I will always add two months to his age and then wonder what mine would have been like now, but the real raw grief is gone (its been 10 months since my mmc)

natalie hello and welcome. I am very sorry for your loss. I understand completely the desire to TTC straight away, but do take some time to acknowledge your loss and allow yourself to grieve. No baby can be replaced and the feelings you have now over this mmc wont disappear if you get pregnant again. When I had an mmc back in March, I found this site very helpful www.pregnancyloss.info Hope it helps you too. Take care xxxx

In my news: I have got a cold, bugger, but luckily DH has not been put off by the runny nose and the shagathon has commenced!Grin I still havent heard back from my docs, so I have based the decision to proceed on:

(sensible reasosn)

  1. doc originally said we could TTC after the hormone treatment finished
  2. had a clear HSG
  3. ultrasound lining didnt look dismal (not great either) but the jury is out as to whether this is really important anyway.

(frivolous reasons)
4) felt like a shag Grin
5) bored of worrying about it all and just want to get on with it
6) Envy of all the BFPs and want to join in.Grin

For those of you eating sunday roasts today. Enjoy the roast potatoes for me! xxxxxxxxxxxx

OrangeGloss · 16/01/2011 15:42

Afternoon everyone, sorry in advance for selfish post...
I'm feeling so low today, I've had some spotting and cramps today which hasn't done much for my mood. It looks like it's red/orange/brown, which I'm hoping will go away. I'm trying to remember the dr saying don't worry about blood but it's hard not to. I can't believe I have another week to wait of not knowing, I don't know how I'll get through it :(

I'll try and catch up later when I'm a bit more positive and not quite so sorry for myself

DachshundsWantPuppies · 16/01/2011 15:53

natalie sorry I didn't say hello earlier - welcome to the thread

mummya good luck with the swi - sorry I can't report roast potatoes - we had potato dauphinoise today. It was yummy!

orange I'm really sorry that you have more stresses - I am thinking of you and really hope that the scan goes well.

piglet really sorry to hear your news - I hope that your stay here is short. It is hard when everyone around you seems to be getting pg, but everyone here understands how hard it is, so moaning welcome.

Am finding it really really hard not to obsess about tomorrow - am a pile of grumpy grouchy nervous misery - what if none of them have made it through the weekend? :(

MummyAbroad · 16/01/2011 16:01

xposts

hello and welcome piglet There is really good info here that can help you make you decision about when to TTC again. The real answer is when you are ready emotionally (but DO do a HPT and check you get a negative first)

Dach I feel for you with the nerves, I have had a lot of appointments recently and I ALWAYS get really nervous beforehand. HTH

Orange chin up! you are doing really well! Look how far you have come already! Keep repeating those words from the doctor to yourself. The blood doesnt matter. The blood doesnt matter xxxxx

pigletmania · 16/01/2011 16:12

Thanks Duchand you too. Its just agghhg, started bleeding more heavily now, I am definitely MC again.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 16/01/2011 16:13

Gosh I just realised I forgot to say hello to Natalie -sorry! - welcome to you and piglet too. I'm very sorry for your losses Sad. This is a great place to be in the circumstances but I hope you won't have to stay here too long.

YRMOTB that chart looks really good too! Will be keeping my fx for you to get a bfp in the next couple of days!

orange deep breaths, and try to keep calm. Remember what the dr said, and try to hang on for one more week x

dachs will be thinking of you and the embies tomorrow, let us know how you get on x

OP posts:
hadrian · 16/01/2011 16:28

Agggh indeed piglet I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. Have you got an appointment to see your doctor or go to the hospital to find out what's going on? My heart goes out to you - am recovering from my MC over Christmas and this thread has been such a great source of support.

Welcome to you too natalie and sorry I didn't say hello before - am a bit self-absorbed today Blush.

Hang in there orange - a bit of spotting doesn't sound bad at all. It must be so hard but have faith in your doctor.

Good luck tomorrow dachs. What time do you find out? Am cheering on your embies!

Yay for the shagathon mummya!

OrangeGloss · 16/01/2011 18:18

Thanks [weak smile] just bawled my eyes out on the phone to MIL and feel a bit better. I'm getting pulling-type pains but I'm so freaked out i cant tell if it's good or bad thing. Am also looking at snowboarding hols as dh said if it's bad news we're going away next month

I'll read and catchup tomorrow but I just wanted to wish Dachs good look for tomorrow, I hope they all look good, but I'm sure if you need to wait until Weds it's not a bad sign X

cep · 16/01/2011 18:36

welcome natalie and piglet sorry you find yourselves here.

orange i'm sorry you're having a bit more blood. are you still off work. If so Pile up a load of dvd's you want/love to watch i always find it makes the day go really quick.

mummya sorry about the cold, i'm still getting over the last dregs of mine. dh now has it and is "dying" however, i told him if he has the energy to work in the garage all afternoon he's got the energy to dtd. Grin he can't get out of it that easily.

dachs fx for tomorrow.

quick daft question, with opk's am i supposed to ov the i test pos or the day after. i haven't tested pos yet but didn't at all last time anyway. but on my earliest cycle i should ov tomorrow (according to ov calculator) but test neg. (again) longest i should ov on thursday.

Just read back and x-posts mummya - yay for the shagfest!!!! Glad you decided to take the plunge as I got the distinct feeling that weighing up the pros and cons and trying to make a reasoned decision was driving you mad!! Welcome back on the rollercoaster!!

My chart is in Bizarre Land at the minute - huge temp hike over last two days. Yesterdays temp can be explained away by wine on Friday, but am surprised it's still so high today. Way too early to be anything exciting (5-6 dpo) so I'm guessing I'm coming down with something. Which is annoying because it means my temps will be unfathomable. Fx for a sensible reading tomorrow!

In the grand tradition of tempting diffedness by planning things that will be completely impractical if ttc actually succeeds anytime soon, this week I'm going to book a two-three week camping holiday at the end of August. Tent and everything.

orange glad you have your mil to talk to, hope you're doing ok

Updating for wiggle Sad

cep I think ov can happen up to 48 hours after a + opk. However my acupuncturist said that it can also happen the evening before - the opk the next day then might pick up the tail end of the lh surge if that makes sense? just remembered we were actually talking about CBFM rather than normal opk - not sure if that's different then [useless emoticon]

cep theoretically it's the day after you get the + on the ov test - but everyone's different so it's not an exact science. I am sure I read it was between 12-36 hours of seeing a + but you might want to check that - I think there was some good info on the clearblue website. Possibly even graphs! I like graphs.

MummyA Felt like a shag???? What is this thing of which you speak? Surely it does not exist.

orange hang on in there! weird pulling feelings is generally not a problem, I'm still getting those sometimes and had loads all the way up to about week 7.

PinkRabbitFood · 16/01/2011 19:25

Evening all,

Hi to natalie and piglet, so sorry you've ended up here. The thread moves fast but don't worry, just dip in and out as you fancy. Hope things are physically ok for you at the moment.

BOA well done on the FF registration and temping - let the mentalling commence :)

dachs I am keeping everything crossed that you have 9 mini dachs multiplying at the rate of knots on Monday morning. What are you up to this evening to distract yourself?

orange (((hugs))) try not to stress, someone else, maybe mouse, had the whole spectum of colours of gunge and it worked out ok for her. Also, my limited knowledge is that pulling is good, means stuff's growing and I know that when I started cramping it felt VERY different to the pulling up until then. Don't look too much at snowboarding holidays, I don't think you'll be going this year!!!

cep I agree with owly that I think it's 12-36 hours after. I use CBFM and have been monitoring the lines compared to what you get with an OPK (excellent way to burn rapidly through money.....) and they do the same thing so I think they are looking for the same hormone.

wiggle sorry AF got you :( Good work registering with a clinic - I felt much better when I did that as now I feel like I've made it someone else's problem to fix.

mummya excellent work on getting back on the shagfest wagon :) Hehehehe also much respect for the 'just because you feel like it'

hadrian not sure how to find good acupuncturist. Apparently there is a network of acupuncturists caled the 'Acupuncture Fertility Network' that take a particular interest in pregnancy and fertility so worth checking if people are on that. Also, check whether they are registered with the British Acupuncture Council. After that I guess it's down to whether you get on with the individual and they make you feel reassured and relaxed.
Also, so sorry you're feeling low, it's completely understandable as we've all been tthere and you've got so much on your plate - II'm so sorry to hear about your mum :(

I would second what the others say about considering counselling - it wasn't as hideous as I thought it would be and I think it helped a lot to talk to someone a bit removed from the whole thing.

izz good work on the camping trip - you're right, it's almost certain to cause diffed-ness!! Where are you planning to go camping?

I went to see the King's Speech this avo, it was brilliant!! I'd definitely recommend it! I've also booked a ski holiday for next weekend so at least if AF shows up I can drink hot chocolate with rum to my heart's content Grin velvet I reckon I might test Friday if AF hasn't shown up, just to be sure that I'm not pickling any little beans on holiday. Maybe I'll buy a digi tomorrow to stash in the drawer - arse, that bblatenty means I'll end up testing on Tuesday and end up with the thing yelling "NOT PREGNANT" at me - why is it always so smug about it????

mamap how are you doing today? YRM when are you going to POAS again??? Your chart looks AMAZING

Sorry to all I've forgotten, big waves to you all xxx

MummyAbroad · 16/01/2011 19:26

cep agree with owl that the "official" time period is 12-36 hours however, stress can delay ov, so if you are ill, doing lots of exercise, heavy drinking etc, it can be even later or even not happen at all. (I have charted and seen ov happen 3 days after positive OPK) Try not to rely on OPK's alone, if you are using them in combo with other things, they can help a lot. But be wary about thinking you definitely ov'd and then stopping SWI too soon. (always get some "just in case" ones in after!) If you are not getting positives, try getting a load of dirt cheap tests on amazon (25 for 5 quid) and do them two times a day. I get my positive on FMU and then its gone by the 2pm test.

owl I have had a long dry spell Grin

Izz am chuckling at your posts. Chart looks lovely. Did you get an "outstanding effort" award from the pregnancy monitor/shag ratings bit?Grin

DachshundsWantPuppies · 16/01/2011 19:41

pink i have nothing planned to distract myself - am currently tearing my hair out and yelling at DH... Blush

where is your ski hol?

Mamapower · 16/01/2011 19:49

Sorry for the post and dash effort here! I've been working on the business plan and our plan overall for the next few hectic weeks, all day... brain is fried and eye's are sore!!

welcome to Piglet sorry you are here (think I already said 'hi' to Natalie but just in case... welcome again).

Dachs fx crossed for tomorrow!

Pink all good thanks me dear. Booking a Ski holiday is a great plan, oooh you could end up repeating the scene in Bridget Jones where she ski's into the chemist to get a HPT Grin

Wiggle sorry the ole biatch arrived Sad

Orange as you said keep reminding yourself of the dr's reassuring words about bleeding, bug hugs... oh I am not looking forward to this emotional roller coaster!

Mummy remember your inner ho and go for it Grin Grin hee hee!

yrmotb hope you're holding up, if you're anything like me you'll be getting mightily frustrated but let's hope it's worth the wait Smile

Waves izzy owl cep hadrian and all around today

Mamapower · 16/01/2011 20:06

orange that was, of course, big hugs Grin Grin
