A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread!

Chloe55 · 26/01/2011 19:16

It feels a bit sad to have to start a new thread after this one being so lucky, I hope the next one is as good!

youremindmeofthebabe · 26/01/2011 19:20

here velvet

I already take supplements, have done for 2 cycles. I think I stop swi too soon too. Yes, izz to opk, and probably some temping too...

CaribouMoo · 26/01/2011 19:31

Great news Bee, well done babybee!! Good news for MummyA too! Wombat good luck for tomorrow - haven't had brown CM before, Nix did I think though?

cep · 26/01/2011 20:00

wombat don't panic hon, i know it's easy to say and difficult to do, but as chloe said brown is old. fx for tomorrow. what time is your scan?

Just had a look at the smep, HA!!! chance would be a fine thing.

I feel a terrible friend. one of my best friends has just had a healthy ds today, i am happy for her and sent my best wishes and asked for a piccie etc.... It's a bit weird cause our last pg's (ds) we were a week apart which was really strange had known her for years and was one of the few invited to dom rep for my wedding. Not only has she managed to have her 2nd within the time frame we both wanted. (my dh thought it too soon, no suprises there) but obviously had a happy healthy pg. There's a part of me that is really really sad and jealous and just wants it to be me. I avoided her over xmas as i just couldn't face huge bump, i just feel guilty.

Sorry for the mememe.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 26/01/2011 20:30

cep you are not a terrible friend. We have all been there and it's bloody hard. My baby was due at Christmas and I'm still doing big detours around the playground to avoid the mum from ds's class who did have her baby over Christmas and is now pushing him around in a pram. It's ok to feel Sad. Try to remember that and not feel guilty over it - guilt is a wasted emotion and does no good for anyone. I do believe that - and I'm a Catholic Smile

OP posts:
cep · 26/01/2011 20:35

hey izzy i'm r/c as well. Do you think that's what it is? an inbuilt guilt. Smile seriously though, thankyou it's just so weird to be feeling like this isn't it.

cep · 26/01/2011 20:42

I meant to ask, does anyone know how long ov pains or implantation pains tend to last for? i've had an ache for the last 3 days. think it's too early for af (though on earliest cycle would be due on 31st).

I hope you're all ok.

Wombat sleep well and good luck for tomorrow.

I'm off to bed. speak to you all tomorrow, and sleep well.

lily06 · 26/01/2011 20:50

I've just read the SMEP (thanks, YRMOTB) - has anyone tried the cough syrup approach??

lily06 · 26/01/2011 20:51

Cep - I get ov pains every month and they can last anything from 1 day to 1 week. The ache is a bit different from AF pains for me - usually one sided too.

appleblossoms · 26/01/2011 20:53

Just popping on to say HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE congrats to Dasch!! I understand what you mean about a CP, but what matters right now is at this very moment you are one pregnant lady! Grin Hope it all works out beautifully for you lovely.

and mummya hurray hurray hurray on the news from the doc! Wow... has been such a hectic time for you, but goes to show... you really are the oracle and knew best all along and all your doctor badgering has been worth it. When can you start TTC properly then? Right away? Ooooh, I'm so excited for what the next few months will bring!

ladybee great news on little beanie!

and wombat, good luck for tomorrow... hope you manage to sleep tonight, I know it's hard, but fx you will be crying tears of joy and relief tomorrow!

nickstermum · 26/01/2011 20:54

wombat, moo is right, i did get brown cm, even like jelly substance, several peeps on here said old blood as did the mw when i rang the epu..still not reassuring though huh?!

Be fine tomor xx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 26/01/2011 20:57

lily I tried the cough syrup one cycle, didn't notice any great difference. Plus because I started on day 8 and I ov late, I got through almost a whole bottle in ten days. Which can't be good for you.

OP posts:
mousebacon · 26/01/2011 21:01

Hi ladies, been in hiding for a while after my bfp but had my 12 week scan yesterday only to be told bean had died at about 9 weeks (we'd seen a hb at 8 weeks). I'm booked in for an erpc tomorrow as I just want it sorted and it's obviously not happening naturally. We're so devastated. Can't believe we've lost 2 babies in 6 months.

My boss is really not v supportive this time and is pushing for me to be back in the classroom on Monday. Don't know what to do. Sad

MummyAbroad · 26/01/2011 21:06

apple hello stranger? Hope you are well! I have already started TTC Blush hence the big stress about needing the all clear from Dr March. It was TTC lite though, rather than the full on leave-no-stone unturned approach that I will be adopting next month Grin (if no BFP)

wombat the scan couldnt come any sooner could it? I hope it brings the reassurance you need. Have some lucky charms

lily havent tried cough syrup but I noticed a HUGE difference in EWCM after drinking a glass of grapefruit juice for three days before ov.

Velvetcu · 26/01/2011 21:06

oh no mousebacon im really really sorry to hear that :(
Do not feel pressured into going back to work especially into the classroom! its a stressful enough place to be anyway and your health is much more important than any job xxxxx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 26/01/2011 21:11

((( mouse ))) I've already said it on Charters but I'm so sorry about your loss Sad. Please don't go back unless you feel ready (I would have thought you'd be unlikely to feel ready by Monday). This is not something within your control and you're entitled to the time off. Get a dr at the hospital to do you a sick note if you need one. I take it you're a teacher? Purely from a practical point of view, you'll be no use to the students if you're not really up to it.

Obviously if you would feel better having work as a distraction, then that's different - but don't rush back just because you feel guilty or pressured. You need to think about you for now and to grieve over your baby in the way that feels best for you x

OP posts:
MummyAbroad · 26/01/2011 21:13

Oh Mouse!!!! I am so sorrySadSadSadSad that is just heartbreaking. What an evil boss tooAngry Angry Ignore the pressure, you need time to recover from this. If you feel it will help get your DH to send her this:

www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/ma2006/downloads/Miscarriage%20and%20the%20workplace.pdf

I hope you know we are all here for you if you want to talk. Much love xxxxxxxxxx

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 26/01/2011 21:14

wombie good luck for tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

(((mouse))) you poor thing :( so so sorry love. I really think you shouldn't go to work on Monday. Do you have a line manager or head of year or someone who can reason with your boss on your behalf? If your gp signs you off they can't pressure you to go in as you're not allowed to be there. I would personally see gp, explain situation and get signed off-a classroom is no place for you to be next week. Xx

Wombat33 · 26/01/2011 21:23

thank you all for your lovely wishes and lucky charms. I.ll keep them close tomorrow. Scan's at 12.30. I.ll be sure to let you all know how it goes.

mouse I am so so sorry. I know nothing I can say can make it better but know my thoughts are with you and your dh xxx

cep izz is very wise. You have absolutely no need to feel guilty xxx

right I'm off to bed, hopefully to sleep but we'll see. See you all in the morning.

Still sending sticky vibes dachs xxx

Chloe55 · 26/01/2011 21:24

Oh Mouse Sad I really feel for you, your story is almost identical to mine and it is just devastating Sad I am so so sorry. You are the most important thing here, not your work. Give yourself time to recover, unfortunately a lot of people who have never experienced this have no idea how it hurts and therefore lack sympathy but I agree about sending her link mummya suggested.

Please stick around for lots of support and I hope you get through tomorrow the best you can. I will be thinking of you x

jigglebum · 26/01/2011 21:25

Evening ladies - great to see another BFP Dachs, fingers crossed for you.

Feeling rather fed up and down tonight - not sure why, probably a sign that AF is on its way. I am over 5 weeks since mc and cycle used to be between 5 and 6 weeks so it is probably the case. Hadrian - I know how you feel about waiting for the first AF - just want it to happen and know things are working again so to speak.

Also had a frustrating afternoon with DS - he is 2 and half and can be a right handful at times and I am not the most patient of mothers so sometimes wonder if DH and I are right to try for another. I also get bored of being a SAHM, as I want to work part time and did before we moved with DH job a year ago but can't find anything really.

Sorry moan moan moan - I will blame it on the hormones and the lack of red wine in the house - could really fancy a glass! I think bath and bed will do instead! Night all

jigglebum · 26/01/2011 21:29

mouse sorry to hear your loss - don't go in if you do not feel tp to it. I am a teacher too and know you need all your energy to do it and you need some time to yourself to cope. My gp offered me a sick note very readily after my mc - not that I am working !(see above)

Emoo · 26/01/2011 21:32

Mouse - so so sorry to hear about your loss. Give me your boss's number if you like and I will personally tell him/her to fuck off. You are having An Operation, and I'm sure the hospital will give you a sick note for a couple of weeks. (Sorry, I don't normally swear but this sort of behaviour just makes me mad).

Pink - hope your holiday is continuing to be wonderful! Please eat some strudel for me!

Dachs - implantation spotting sounds likely.. I can understand you being worried though - you have invested a lot of time and energy in getting this far.

wombat - good luck for your scan tomorrow.

YRMOTB - hugs for you - I hope you are feeling a bit better than you were this morning.

Kat - how are you doing?

Chloe - sounds like a horrid and scary dream. I sometimes have dreams where the content is completely inocuous but I wake up an emotional mess and stay that way for hours.

Izzy - please please please let this be your month. It will be your turn soon. The poisson has spoken.

MummyA - fantastic news on the lining. Chart looking good too. Love what Charles March MD says about "technical stuff". He obviously doesn't realise he's talking to The Oracle!

Terry - sorry AF got you. In answer to your question, my WTF cycle had late Ov on CD29, but my next cycle (current one) had normal Ov at CD18 (usually I'm CD 14-18). It sounds as if you might have got back to normal fairly quickly. Unfortunately, I have no experience to share with you on what the next few cycles might bring.

MamaP - hooray for lovely GP. Hope you stay sane until the scan on Monday.

Cep [bsad] for your sore back. On FF, I'm just on the cheapskate free version. Don't worry, you can always post your chart here and we'll do as good a job as FF at guessing your fertile time. A computer is only as good as the person programming it! And I agree with Izzy, don't feel guilty for feeling envious. It's normal. No idea about ov/implantation pains, don't think I've ever had them.

Wiggle - stop panicking about your results! See your doctor! You may be panicking about nothing - all labs have different reference ranges, and you might have picked up some American ranges from the internet - they tend to use different units. Certainly the TSH looks normal if I remember correctly from my gran's results that she conscientiously writes down.

Ladybee - huge congrats for a lovely scan result. Have a nice decaffeinated cup of tea to celebrate!

Hadrian and jiggle - yes, it's horrid waiting for the first AF. Hope it arrives soon for you both.
