A safe place for everyone on the TTC after MC rollercoaster. Welcome and come in - virtual wine and chocolate for all, and lots of support and hand-holding until you get your BFP!

The thread moves fast but don't let that put you off - feel free to come along and stay to chat; or dip in and out with any questions.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread!

No help here either I am afraid Terry, mine tend to be all over the place.

Will a piece of carrot cake do biscuit? That's all I have in my biscuit cupboard.

Right school run time, it comes round so quickly!

Chloe55 · 26/01/2011 15:31

Ok, so a bit more bloody discharge today Confused That's bloody CM on CD12, CD14 and CD18. Is it too much wishful thinking that I ovulated cd12 and 6dys later it might be implantation bleeding or would those timings be way out? It's wishful thinking isn't it? Hmm

MummyAbroad · 26/01/2011 15:41

OH MY GOD!!!!! I AM IN FLOODS OF TEARS (OF JOY!)

Dear MummyAbroad
Your HSG demonstrates a normal uterine cavity. Next step is an ultrasound of you uterine lining at midcycle to assess endometrial growth and development. The lining should be more than 7 mm thick and have a trilaminar pattern. In order to verify that the timing is correct, the ultrasonographer should see a preovulatory follicle on one of your ovaries. Some of the above is ?technical stuff? but the ultrasound folk will know what all that means.

Charles March MD

"Techincal stuff"! isnt he sweet!

TerrysNo2 · 26/01/2011 15:42

Implantation can happen anytime from 6-12dpo I think Chloe so not out of realms of possibility!

Mamapower · 26/01/2011 15:43

Mummy about bloomin time, it's taken ages... hope the parcel lands soon so you can get the answers

Dachs 1) Implantation and 2) tell them, they will be used to women not listening to their advise and testing early Grin and the sooner they know, the more support they can offer! Chop chop off you go and dial their number Grin

Chloe it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility but I'm not sure honey, keep me fingers crossed for you though Smile

Terry sorry chick but that's the $50million question! I went from ov day 14 of a 28 day cycle to ov day 18/19 of a 25/26 day cycle! You might find it helpful to chart for the next few cycles.

Waves to wombat biscuit owl yrmotb nix izzy pink and anyone else around today Smile

I went to register my pg today and I got to see my lovely GP who I never actually get to see because you usually have to book 3 weeks in advance. She has said due to the mc and chem preg that she's going to monitor me closely starting with a scan on Monday (I'll be 6+2), so I am relieved that I am being looked after, hoooooray for lovely, understanding, GP's, few and far bewteen these days.

Mamapower · 26/01/2011 15:44

Grin at x-posts with Terry and telling *Chloe the same thing!!

cep · 26/01/2011 15:45

yrmotb am sorry you're feeling a bit low today. hope the little'un is easing up a bit. Knw how you feel about that, mine seems to be going through a lot of "stages" at the moment. all of them designed to drive me round the bend.

wombat ooh are any of those coated in chocolate?

chloe sorry you're feeling ill at the mo. how long have you had the headaches? Notepad??? do you have any secret ambitions to be a journalist???

mummya sorry he's not rcv'd it yet at least you know he's not just not getting back to you.

terry's i had my m/c on 29/11 i didn't have my af until 7/1/11 after a few days of teasing spotting.

dach i think that's normal at this stage, but i know it's pointless saying not to worry cause you're going to. are you thinking of contacting the clinic or leaving it still?

pink hope you're having a fab holiday

Well my back is killing, i hurt it somehow just before christmas and after having had a comical face swelling experience over co-codamol was given an ibrufen based tablet which obviously as i'm ttc can't take now so have just been having paracetamol when it gets bad. But today ended up leaving work cause i just couldn't get comfy, standing or sitting it just hurt, and as i'm on telephony i can't move very much. (hmmm maybe last nights dtd wasn't such a fantastic idea.) [bsmile]

Those of you on ff who've finished the 1 month vip newbie trial, do you really lose all the prediction coloured squares that tell you when you should hopefully be fertile???

Really hope i haven't forgotten anyone I'm absolutely awful at remembering everyone from the list but here goes.

Hello Emoo Izzy Zam Loola biscuit owl

Again appologies if i've missed you.

cep · 26/01/2011 15:45

and mamap ofcourse. sorry Blush

Chloe55 · 26/01/2011 15:58

Fab news mamap! At least you can get somewhere now.

Fab news for your bd last night Cep (even if it did bugger your back up!)

Urrgghh, I will def chart my o next month if I am unlucky this month, this not knowing is doing my nut in! So, you mentioned the VIP first month - does that mean you have to pay for subsequent months?

PinkIsACheeseAddict · 26/01/2011 15:58

dachs have you phoned yet?? Hope you're ok lovely

mummya that is fantastic news Grin-just one tiny little mm in it so no need to worry anymore, right?

YRMOTB hope your little one isn't driving you to distraction!

Terry my cycle went from 28 days all the way out to 37 getting longer and oving later each month. I would definitely recommend temping.

Fab news mamap I haven't even bothered contacting gp as I know they won't give a toss. Luckily I've found the most fantastic private dr that replies to text messages and calls me same day with results!

CEP sorry about your back, hope it's better soon. I think FF still colours stuff in in green to predict ov on the calendar view?

getawiggleon · 26/01/2011 16:00

dachs Still grinning from ear to ear for you! Just wanted to drop in and say that my friend who has just had a succesful cycle of ivf also tested early as she was going on hols for 10 days and needed to know about meds, blood tests etc whilst she was abroad. The clinic saw her the next morning (xmas eve) for a blood test. Her hcg was v high (which may have explained the early bfp) and she is now expecting twins! (that'll also explain it too)

FWIW when she called the clinic and told them about the test they congratulated her. If it was me, I'd contact them and be honest - I don't think for a minute that you'll be the first to call with an early bfp. It would prob put your mind at rest to talk to them about spotting etc too (although am sure it's perfectly normal at this stage) xx Good luck!

Welcome to the newbies here too and sorry for your losses, esp at Xmas. Sit down and make yourselves comfy (though not for too long, hopefully)

Terrys My cycles picked up exactly as they were straight after wtf cycle but then after two months and me tinkering around with agnus castus they appear to have screwed up got longer.

hadrian It was 6 weeks to the day post mc that af arrived. It's so frustrating hanging around waiting for it and waiting to ttc again but at least you know that everything's working again when the old biatch does arrive. Fingers crossed it won't be much longer for you.

Mummy Really holding out for some good news for you v soon x

Great big blanket hugs and huge mug of hot choccy for velvet and also yrmotb It's terrible when your body plays tricks on you, fingers crossed for this month for both of you Smile

Izzy Don't ask me why but I have a feeling that this is going to be your month. I just have a hunch. I really hope so Grin

Scrolling down the ever-expanding BFP list (hurray) it seems that 5 seems to be the magic number, lots of the bfps came on cycle 5.

I've finally had the results back from my blood tests this week (I have been and stood in front of the doctor's receptionist every day for 7 days!) and have since, thanks to Dr Google, diagnosed myself with decrepit ovaries (FSH is 11.4, LH 6) and an underactive thyroid.

Just wondering if anyone knows about the thyroid thing? My TSH was 3.5 and (according t'interweb) they like it to be 2 or below (ideally 1) for ttc and a successful pg. Seemingly an underactive thyroid can also increase the risk of miscarriage too. I'm going to see doc to get her opinion on this as don't want to carry on ttc if this is something that needs treating first.

Oh, and I also registered with a fertility clinic yesterday. ARGC in London. Apparently they have a 4-6 week waiting list?

Big waves to all the BFPers and anyone else lurking today.

Chloe55 · 26/01/2011 16:00

I meant mummya about getting on with it nowBlush but also great news that you are being monitored mamp

cep · 26/01/2011 16:01

mummya just realised i missed 3 posts. That's great news, that's about what they said yours was wasn't it?? Are you going to arrange another scan??

Chloe that is within range for implantation bleed, but see what happens. fx for you. I've had bloody mc on cd 18, 19 and 20. god knows and he isn't telling me.

Mamapower · 26/01/2011 16:02

waves right back at cep Smile chick don't worry, no one ever takes offense at not being remembered by everyone... there are too many of us and this thread moves too fast! You'd need to be super woman to get us all in on one message! Back pain is a biatch Sad I have a spinal fusion... so I understand depths of back pain that most peeps will never know! I didn't know that it was recommended not to take ibuprofen whilst ttc! Shame cause an ibuprofen/paracetamol combo will work much better. Hope it eases off soon Smile

Chloe55 · 26/01/2011 16:05

Mamap, the ibuprofen thing will presumably be because it is harmful to a foetus so I guess we have that period where we aren't even aware we are pg so it's not worth the risk - is that right Cep?

Wombat33 · 26/01/2011 16:09

Whoop for Mummya!!!! That's FAB news!!!!

Mammap what a lovely lovey GP Smile good luck for the first scan.

cep poor you re back. Does a warm bath help at all if you can't take too much in the way of painkillers? (PS half chcolate, half jammy dodgers Smile)

Chloe i'm not sure but I'll keep everything crossed x

cep · 26/01/2011 16:09

getta what does tsh mean sorry? Definately best to get double checked and an official opinion.

chloe the basic is free, but looking on the comparison list it shows fulll featured calendar "(Best conception chances, ovulation, appointments, forecasted periods, ovulation and fertile days, events, weight data...)" as only on the vip membership which you do pay for but i can't see how much it is without clicking the upgrade button and i don't want to do that.

as things stand i think i give up on this cycles dtd, just don't think i could stand the pain now, so am hoping is all better for next cycle.

TerrysNo2 · 26/01/2011 16:12

Thanks getawiggleon, Pink, cep and mama.

I am already charting - chart here in case you are interested.

getawiggleon · 26/01/2011 16:13

X-posts

Fab news Mummy I hope there's a little bean moving into the new house v soon!

Great news about docs mama Great to know you'll be monitored

MummyAbroad · 26/01/2011 16:15

cep

Yep, its really really good news.Grin It means no scar tissue has regrown and and at this stage that means that I am cured! I wont get regrowth unless I have any more traumatic surgery or birth.

Last scan was 6mm, so yes Pink there is only 1mm in it, I am sure with time, it will grow, and if it doesnt I can take drugs to make it grow, the main thing is that there are no scars at all!!!

So it was worth all the money, travel, horrible HRT hormones, stress etc!!

Off out now to celebrate with a girlfriend Grin

PS cep sorry forgot to reply to you the other day when you asked if I was alright, I wasnt, but things are really looking up now!!

cep · 26/01/2011 16:17

chloe yep, it's supposed to stop some bits developing and connecting to other bits, but right now can't remember which bits. [bgrin]
I just don't want to risk it as we're activly trying for one. Took a couple tesco neurofen yesterday without realising (for some reason thought i was taking paracetamol) and felt so guilty and i don't even think i've been successful yet.

mamap ooh spinal fusion that sounds painful, my mum has osteoarthritis so am always worried it's something to do with that, but am pretty sure it's mostly cause i'm just fat.

wombat I had a hot bath when i got home, and after a very diet busting sausage roll, quavers and daim bar. hmmm may not lose too many lbs this week.

Ladybee · 26/01/2011 16:19

Hello! What's this? I disappear off the thread for a day to hide under my duvet, and DACHS GETS A BFP!!!!
Good work lady! See, told you, metal mouth Wink

Now, casting back my memory, friend who had IUI tested early, don't think they cast her out onto the streets, just booked her for scans and said congratulations. Go on, they won't growl you. Be brave Smile

So sorry for mememe bit, but had a major wobble about scan & today's appointment. Was going to get them to delay but in the end I was a Big Brave LadyBee and gritted my teeth and did it.

And have good news! Bean measuring the right amount for 6weeks+6days, and heart beating nice and fast. Everything where it should be and just one. GrinGrin

So will be relieved and happy for as long as I can, knowing that I'm doing what I have to at the moment. I have to dash, as DS is calling but will be back later in the evening to catch up with everyone else. Grin

TerrysNo2 · 26/01/2011 16:22

FYI - I paid $16.95 for 90 days VIP membership on FF

getawiggleon · 26/01/2011 16:23

Cep TSH is Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. Part of the fertility blood tests they run on CD3. I was really interested in the FSH and LH ones to give me an idea of ovarian reserve but when I looked at this one I thought it seemed high compared to what it should be and now it's causing concern (esp since I found out that one of risks of of hypothyroidism miscarriage)

I would have had no idea that I had this (other symptoms include tiredness - I have a 2yo dd so don't think it's unusual to be tired), dry, coarse hair (my hairdresser has suggested on more than one occasion that I ask the doc about this (I still think it's the hair straighteners!)

Just called the docs though and they are closed. Closed! At 4pm on a wednesday afternoon. In the middle of January?!?

getawiggleon · 26/01/2011 16:25

Woop for the scan Bee Happy days Grin
