Ok ladies, here's the new thread, let's hope it's a lucky one!

Oh Karstan sorry for x-post. Big G&T for you too ...

MissFlick · 29/11/2010 11:08

Thanks for all of your kind words my lovely Frolickers. I heart you all very much Bear Bear Bear

I was feeling distraughtpretty down in the dumps but I had a good cry all the way home on the train and bus (got some very strange looks) and got it out of my system. Got home and Mr.F had bought me some sunflowers and a bottle of red to cheer me up so I had another cry and a chat about it but now I have got changed, put my face back on and we're just about to go out for dinner. I'm still disappointed of course but have had a good blub and am trying to pick myself back up again- sitting around moping is not going to win me my baybeeeeee is it?! Just need ERTD to arrive now and then I can collect my next lot of Clomid and try again.

I don't know what I would do without you all xxxxx

MissFlick · 29/11/2010 11:09

Ps. Sorry about your ERTD karstan xxx

pearlcrystal · 29/11/2010 13:32

So sorry about the bad news Flick ... sounds like you're doing the right thing though braving the world - you're obviously a very tough cookie!

It's really snowy here today so am mumsnetting working from home after a really scary experience of trying to drive to work and having no control of the car whatsoever.

I was wondering if any of you had heard of the baby-making bible? It's a book that caught my attention and I got it this weekend. Some of the advice in it seems quite good, based on Chinese medicine, but other parts are really contrary to what I would intuitively do. For example because of my type the suggestion was not to exercise, which to be honest seems to be the only thing that helps when I'm feeling stressed or down. It also suggests using positive visualization (ie imagining yourself pregnant/ with your baby) which I've been finding really hard to do without feeling upset.

The book does have a lovely-sounding chicken soup recipe which I am in the process of making as comfort food on this super cold day.

What does everyone else do to cope with the blues/stress?

JosieSmith1 · 29/11/2010 13:32

Welcome Pearl

So sorry to hear that MissFlick Sad

Sorry you've decided to stop TTC for a while GoldMaple but I hope it goes quicker than you're expecting

Well, nearly snowed in but not quite. It's a bit pathetic really, some people who live round the corner have cried off work, yet here's me travelling half an hour to the yard, getting stuck on the way, then made it back and walked into work as I only live a 20 min walk (in good weather) away from work. If I can manage to get to the yard and back they can make it round the corner! Honestly, I must be made of harder stuff than most people! Grin

Hope no-one else is suffering in this horrendous weather

ToriaPumpkinHead · 29/11/2010 14:01

Pearl the majority of the girls on here have reaad The Baby-Making Bible I think, it was something of a cult book on here for a while a month or two back. I have it and am working on getting back into it, I compleltey detoxed and took a lot of the advice, then had a very bad month and went mental. It's certainly worth a read, and I think, as with everything else, if there's something in it you disagree wtih then don't do it, for example I should eat lots of aubergine apparently, but I can't stomach the stuff so it doesn't happen hehehe.

Oh flick sending you big hugs so sorry about the result. My ertd turned up too so tomorrow I will be on day 4 if anybody is updating the list Grin this month it hit me hard and I was really upset but feeling much better now. Trying to think of the benefits of an alcohol fueled Christmas.
pearl I got the baby making bible and really enjoyed it although now I realise I have more serious problems with ttc I have lost a little heart in it. Must try and apply more of it really as I am sure it all helps.
Got my next appointment with docs on Friday my test results are back but dh's aren't so hoping they will be back by then. Going to ask for my referral to a private specialist. The one thing that is really panicking me about going to a specialist is all the appointments how does everyone explain them to work? Especially the late notice ones I can't see my company putting up with it.

Thought I'd update the list (though have just realised I've put Florin a day ahead) as I've been positively saintly today and cleaned the kitchen and the bathroom, done a load of laundry and finished my NaNo so am now free as a bird til OH gets back from climbing. This is what comes of his climbing partner getting me out of bed to answer the door at 8am when they found out school was closed.

Some weird goings on here, I'm almost positive I'm getting ovulation pains. Have no idea what my body thinks it's playing at, am also still resisting temping so will just don my shag cape and get on with it Grin ERTD is next due on Christmas Day which would be an epic BFP lol.

Just popping in to send big hugs, wine and chocolate to MissFlick. Don't give up though, I'm sure I found stuff on the web whilst on clomid that said the majority of BFPs are whilst on the 2nd-6th cycle.

Waves to everyone else and sending more hugs and goodies to those got by FERTD (and to everyone else, cos you all deserve lovely things). I have had a very lazy relaxing day as school closed with the snow :) Although text alert didn't get to me until 10.30am and I would have been on my way in white-knuckle driving if a colleague hadn't texted me at 7.30!

highheelsandequations · 29/11/2010 15:27

Oh and very Angry as spent a couple of hours yesterday ordering tesco shop and they cancelled our delivery due to weather, so now have no food and don't fancy either driving or walking to supermarket through snow, sleet and hail.

gardenpixie · 29/11/2010 16:59

Highheels how lovely to see you! How are you? I hope everything is going well. Boo to snow induced lack of provisions - send Mr Highheels out! (sorry, just realised I made him sound like a cross dresser but you know what I mean)...

Pearl I've had a read of the baby-making bible. I thought a lot of it was very helpful and interesting but I was similarly flumuxed by the advice on exercise. I simply can't function without running regularly - I don't go very far or fast but need to get out for the sake of my sanity. Especially now I've started taking clomid and having trigger shots that send me a bit loopy! The other thing I do is just to cocoon myself on my sofa whenever ERTD strikes so I can dedicated a few hours to moping and then pull my socks up and get back to being positive. Oh, that, and the odd G&T...

Josie you are a trooper! Well done for braving the snow! None here so far but we are bracing ourselves for a big fall tonight

Toria maybe your ovaries are cooking up a super egg hence the early ov pain? Anyway, good that you are dedicated to the SWI cape; hope Mr Toria appreciates it Wink

Florin how are you doing now? I hope you are feeling OK and making the most of your opportunity for drinking mulled wine and joining in the Christmas spirit

MissFlick I think you are tucked up in bed by now but am sending hugs and hovering to top up your glass should you be in need Grin

Goldmaple how are you feeling about taking a bit of a break? It'll be over in no time though and at least you can throw yourself into Christmas whole heartedly!

Lanky has my memory completely gone haywire or did you move house over the weekend? I hope you are settling into your new home - here, have an orchid and a bottle of fizz to celebrate

Womanly how are you doing? I think you have your Drs appt soon so I hope you are OK and that they can sort out clomid for you again soon

Hello to everyone else - hope you are all warm and not too huffy with snow / tube strikes / generally freezing weather

Not much news from me although today is the last day before the start of The Shaggathon. Mr G is very excited. I am sure I will be by tomorrow's SWI session, possibly some wine and chocolate might help...

Happy Monday Frolicking everyone xxx

cherrycobbler · 29/11/2010 18:22

just popping in to say ((((hugs))) to the lovely flick. Hope you are feeling better today and everything crossed for the next cycle. florin sorry to hear about ERTD too, and that you are feeling down :( You're right to look on the bright side. Christmas isn't christmas without lots of mulled wine and champers before breakfast! And blue cheese and nice bloody steak etc etc. Hope you're doing ok and looking fwd to seeing you on the grads board very soon.

garden - good luck with the Shaggathon!! Best way to keep warm in this freezing weather!

CaveMum · 29/11/2010 19:05

Just popping back to say welcome to pearl - very rude of me not to say so earlier today [smacks self on back of hand].

I also meant to say Flick I order you to go out and buy that Issa dress you have seen! The thing you have to remember with them is that they are such a classic style that they will not date so it can be a wardrobe staple for you for years to come.

garden enjoy your shagaton!

Also for those of you on a bargain hunt I've stumbled across this website which has frequent designer sales. Tomorrow they have an Ugg sale and I have my eyes on a pair of Ugg Wellies with a sheepskin lining that are over 50% off. You just need to sign up as a member to the website (no cost) and they will send you emails to tell you what sales they have coming up.
If anyone wants to sign up send me a message and I will send you an invite (gets me a small discount and you can do the same for your friends!)

raspberrytipple · 29/11/2010 19:35

Evening all,

My good god it's cold. Supposed to get snow tonight so I expect I'll be the only Muppet at work tomorrow as I walk in so wont get stuck - everyone else skives off (I don't mean that to sound derogatory as I know some people do get stuck but last year some people who only live like a 20 minute walk didn't even bother to come in so I'm with Josie on the Angry front when it comes to snow)

Cavey UGGS are SOOOOOO lush. You have to buy them. My friend has some and they look uber comfy. Unfortunately DP absolutley hates them and has threatened to leave me if I ever buy any. Confused total drama queen if you ask me.

garden hope you have rested today ready for donning your shag cape!!! Mines over now, I must deffo have ovulated because I couldn't care less about getting a jump which usually means mother nature has done her bit with making me horny to win us a baybee. Have fun!!!

highheels good to hear from you - I popped into the grads thread to see how you were. I hope the next few weeks flys by for you hun.

Toria A 'conceived on chrimbo day' would be an absolutely epic BFP, although I'd be worried about whether it was DP's or santas!! I've always had a bit of a Santa thing since we watch 'Bad Santa' and there was that girl in it that really fancied santas. Hmm Well done you cleaning - I am resigned to living in a pit, I can't be arsed.

hope your appointments go well florin haven't got any advice with the work thing though. could you ask them (the docs) to mainly give you appointments around work or do flexi/take the odd day or two off?

hello pearl welcome, I hope you have a short stay (in the nicest possible way obviously!!! Grin. not read that book, I am tempted to get it after christmas or ask for it for christmas to see how I get on. I've heard lots of positive things about it though.

Sorry to hear ERTD got you Karstan but heres to getting hammered leading up to Christmas.

and last but not least MissFlick. Glad you had a good cry, it really helps sometimes. Next month will be a different story and I know its hard but do as you are doing, dry the tears pick yourself up and enjoy the time in between doing naughty things you couldn't do if it had happened this time. Hurts like hell sometimes but what else can we do. Hope you have a lovely meal and Mr F sounds amazing. Thinking positive thoughts for you hun.

Right, I'm off for a bath, need to try and get warm some damn how!!! I have my heating on full blast and still can't feel my hands Sad.

I HATE WINTER Angry Angry Angry Angry

raspberrytipple · 29/11/2010 19:36

wow I can Blush

raspberrytipple · 29/11/2010 19:37

I meant wow I can talk Blush

Oh the irony that i can write an epic post then not finish a sentence about writing the epic post.... and then keep going writing this!!! Grin

TomboyWife · 29/11/2010 20:39

Evening ladies!

MissFlick sorry about the test results. Big, big hugs hon.

And sorry also to Karstan and Florin about ERTD. Sad

Welcome pearl!

raspberry are you in London? We've had an effed-up Monday due to the Tube strike, and now we're due an effed-up Tuesday due to snow. I soldiered in today on my pushbike and had a really miserable time of it (so cold and windy!). I'm not sure how much endurance I have left for trying to get to work tomorrow.

raspberrytipple · 29/11/2010 21:09

nope not in London thank god! I'm in the country and we don't tend to get too much snow around here but enough to bugger everything up. Wouldn't fancy venturing on the tube - I am actually terrified of the London underground, I don't get claustrophobic usually but something about the tube makes me feel like I can't breathe, I think it's because I know I'm underground if that makes any sense?

TomboyWife · 29/11/2010 21:39

I get slightly antsy if I know I'm under water (like on a Eurostar train). I'm sure it also doesn't help that Tube trains are really tiny compared to underground trains in other cities.

raspberrytipple · 29/11/2010 22:31

Never been on euro star, think I'd definetly be the same. Fine with lifts though so it's not the confined space thing, I think it is a fear of being underneath something. Luckily I don't get it with dp or we'd be in trouble with the old baby dancing ;-) ohh get me an my filthy mind Blush :)

Truffkin · 29/11/2010 23:07

Hi ladies,

Flick so sorry about your results, you sound like you are doing all the right things though and Mr Flick is taking care of you. Big hugs heading your way.

Garden good luck for your mammoth cape-donning week! I'll be there next week so just behind you.

CaveMum I'd love an invite to that website but am struggling with sending a PM, maybe because I'm on my phone?

I'm back at work tomorrow (boo) and looks like it'll snow overnight so fun and games ahead! Still, had a great weekend and am back on it for a new month!

Night night Grin

pearlcrystal · 30/11/2010 10:07

Morning all,

Well, seems like most poeple at work are snow-wimps and they've actually shut the office this morning! Also all schools, etc are shut here too... So Josie a big star for you for making it in OK.
Toria good advice about only following the bits of the baby-making bible that make sense for me... I can hear you on the aubergine, but it can actually be quite nice if cooked properly (although it does usually end up being a mess that tastes like plastacine)
Gardenpixie glad to hear you're sharing my confusion about the exercise thing. Like you I need my (slow) run to clear my head. Good luck with the shaggathon, I'll be shortly following you as we start ours at the weekend.
Cavey thanks for the welcome. Uggs sound lovely in this cold weather - wonderfly comfy.
Rasberry it's bloody freezing here too (Edinburgh) Fingers crossed for you that your recent babymaking efforts were a success and that you won't even have to read the baby-making bible!
Have started on new supplements - pregnacare (conception)... amazingly they make your pee a bright neon colour, I think it's the Beta-carotene
Right, better get some work done while following baby making bible's advice of imagining follicles maturing and waterfalls!
Keep warm and cosy everyone!!

ToriaPumpkinHead · 30/11/2010 10:08

Garden I have a fabulous image now of a giant egg growing. Enjoy your shagathon!

Raspberry With no idea what you look like I will now forever picture you with long blonde hair in a little santa dress and high black heels... Hope the weather isn't too bad, apparently I can drive today, schools are closed again today so OH got up and cleared the drive for me Grin

Have nothing to do today other than head into town, post some parcels and go for reflex. Bliss!
