Ok ladies, here's the new thread, let's hope it's a lucky one!

OP posts:
Imps7 · 19/02/2011 09:32

Hmmm well ERTD arrived with a vengeance during the night - I was in so much pain that it actually made me sick!! Isn't that pathetic! I think I can definitely say that this isn't implantation bleeding Grin

So, back to Cycle 3 then, Day 1.

Honestly, I really hate men and the fact that they don't have to go through anything even remotely similar to this.

Tomboy - ha ha "prone to being an overly emotional b*tch" is a classic symptom! All sounding quite positive - when's POAS day?

TomboyWife · 19/02/2011 20:25

Aw, that sucks Imps. Sad

Today is CD25 or CD26 for me, so POAS day won't be for another few days. I like to give AF ample chance to turn up first.

raspberrytipple · 20/02/2011 16:30

Hi girls,

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello! No news from me other than the wedding plans are going well, I'll be married in 27 weeks :) I'm also getting so many 'oh, you'll be married then the babies will come along' comments that I've flipped it, I don't need to be pregnant until after we're hitched so I am just sitting back and letting people say what they like without trying to convince them that no, we don't want babies yet etc. I'm actually quite enjoying the conversations and attention! Grin Feeling so much more relaxed and unstressed about TTC it's unreal.

I was also lurking for a bit and I see we have a BFP! Congratulations Toria, that's amazing news and I hope you have a stress free perfect pregnancy.

Anyway, love to all and hopefully we can get a few more BFPs outta this thread!! xxx

highheelsandequations · 20/02/2011 16:58

Raspberry lovely to hear from you and glad everything's going well with the wedding plans, you'll be MrsRaspberry in no time! So glad you're feeling much more relaxed and hope it continues. Hope you pop back from time to time to keep us updated on the wedding (and everything else), and will be looking for photos of the happy event in the summer.

xxx

Imps7 · 20/02/2011 19:19

Hello Raspberry glad to hear wedding plans are going well! Also v glad to see it's proving a good distraction from the bind that is TTC.

Well I had a bit of a down day yesterday - not only did ERTD from hell arrive, but my best mate told me that she's 8 weeks pregnant with her third child. The third child point didn't bother me so much (I don't want to have 3 children) but I got really quite upset by the fact that every single one of her pregnancies has happened in the first month of TTC (her hubby has nicknamed himself "The One-Shot Wonder" lol!!!). In my emotional/irrational/ERTD state yesterday, I got it into my head that her super-fertility must mean that I am not fertile in the slightest and will never conceive. I'm ashamed to say that I think this came across in my reaction to her which was probably a little bit cold.

Feeling much much better today though and looking forward to SWI in a big way - I've even got OH on board with giving up booze/coming home from work on time around OV time etc. May even get some Preseed, having read good reviews about it. I think I may phone my friend and express a lot more excitement for her to make up for yesterday.

But for now I'm putting up with VeryERTD - honestly, I can't remember the last time I had such a painful period - I usually just have cramps but this month it's stabbing pains radiating all the way across my abdomen. Getting a bit better now, but it's all just nasty. Pah.

Sorry for the rambling post. Tomboy well done for holding out - I have everything crossed for you! Would love to see another BFP!

TomboyWife · 20/02/2011 20:19

Imps an unusually painful ERTD could indicate that you almost conceived but it didn't quite take. Was ERTD a bit late as well? I had one month that was insanely painful like that. ERTD wasn't late, but I'd been having pg symptoms up to the point it arrived, and I suspect (though I obviously don't know) that that month was a 'near miss'.

In any case, I know what you mean about going all Envy of super-fertile friends. One of the myriad ways that life is unfair...

Imps7 · 20/02/2011 20:42

Hi Tomboy - that's interesting to know. ERTD wasn't late, but very nasty. Fills me with hope that we could have been "almost there"!

Anyway, so much for SWI this month - OH has just told me that he has to go away for a week for work (obviously) at exactly the wrong time. Am really upset - he doesn't seem to care so much. I think I made the mistake of crying at him while Top Gear is on. I can't compete with Jeremy Clarkson and the others !

Oh well. Must remember that we're still trying to save for our new kitchen and the longer it takes to conceive the more money we'll have for kitchen. I'd best get onto the Moben/Wickes/Homebase website before I start bawling again.

Have a nice evening all.

ToriaPumpkinHead · 21/02/2011 00:12

Hello Raspberry! Glad to hear the wedding plans are coming on Grin Enjoy the planning and putting TTC to the back of your mind.

Imps Echo Tomboy WRT abnormally heavy ERTD. Also, I swear my ERTD and PMT got worse after a few months of TTC!

Well my trip to Edinburgh was cancelled as my friend put her back out so we went to visit the outlaws and OHs best friend and their new baby!

MIL very excited at the prospect of becoming a granny, she practically had a fit on the didning room table! FIL was a little more stoic but came to me this morning, hugged me and was clearly getting a bit excited so we'll let him off. Got some lovely baby cuddles with the new baby as well and got on surprisingly well with his mother who after the birth of her first son treated me like I planned to eat him... But never mind, I bought a CBD on the way home which came up 2-3 weeks so it's really real now and I shall bugger off to the grads thread and leave you all in peace, I will lurk though and keep up with you all and I hope to see some of you joining me soon!

Fingerscrossed1 · 21/02/2011 10:14

So happy for you Toria Smile

Imps hang in there, I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes it can feel like everyone around you is super fertile. Two of our friends announced they were upduffed on ny eve and they had literally been trying for a couple of months.

ERTD due to arrive tomorrow and for some reason I just know it will. Feeling a little bit twingy. I'm a bit more relaxed about it at the moment though because we've decided we're moving.

We've found a lovely 3 bed cottage (ideal for families Smile in the village where my mum and dad live where we've been wanting to move for ages. This has given me something else to think about, I can now obsess about fabric and sofas instead Smile

Imps7 · 21/02/2011 13:59

Hurrah Fingers!! Very exciting to have found somewhere lovely to move to! There's nothing like paint colour charts and fabric samples to take your mind off everything else!

Fingerscrossed1 · 21/02/2011 14:30

I know, I can't wait! I've wanted it for so long.

Have had to stop myself from imagining how I'd decorate 'the nursery' whilst browsing fabric websites though Blush

Truffkin · 21/02/2011 17:56

Hi Frolickers, that's Monday almost over then!

Impers sorry about ERTD arriving witha vengeance. It's always horrible when it's a heavy / painful one as it feels even more like it's sticking the boot in about not being pregnant. Also, WRT your friend's pregnancy news, it's totally understandable to feel a bit Envy at first but great that you are already feeling up to calling her back for a congratulatory chat! I remember having a really painful (and 1 weeks early!) period in September whilst away at a hen do when one of the girls had just announced her pregnancy. Off the pill for her wedding, conceived on honeymoon and she's older than me, I remember feeling very Sad for a good few days after that one.

FingersCrossed taht's great news, something really positive to focus on and of coruse, the nursery will look great Wink Also, do you want to update your stats on the list? You have a few ?s which is no good for us to stalk you when you are late!!

Raspberry thanks for popping in, so good to hear from you and really glad the plans are coming along nicely. Maybe with this new completely chilled out attitude a BFP will be on the horizon sooner than you think. After all, it's the 'relax and it will happen' advice that we all hate Grin

Tomboy as you are now officially due, when will you be testing? Can we start chanting 'POAS' to you yet? Pleeeease?

Hi everyone, just popping in to say hello and see how it's all going

Truff thanks for putting me on the MIA list Smile

Imps I know it's a bit late but hope you're coming to terms with your friend being pg.

Haven't caught up properly I'm ashamed to say but I'm still really down about everything. My friend told me tonight she's leaving our yard next weekend and as you know I've been waiting to move so that's making me miserable, and of course I had to watch my colleague telling everyone at work she's pg, in between conversations about midwife appointments, early scans etc. I still haven't had the heart to speak to her about anything related to her pg. And today mam told me her friend's daughter who got married 2 weeks after me just gave birth, and that her son's girlfriend is due in the next couple of weeks. My friend's sister just announced she's pg. I was today dragged around the baby sections of matalan and tesco looking for pressies for them Sad

2011 is not a good year so far Sad

I'm really sorry if my little impromptu visit has brought the thread down, I didn;t mean that. Any BFPs I have missed?

xx

JosieSmith1 · 21/02/2011 18:16

Just spotted one - massive congrats Toria!!

cookiemoo · 21/02/2011 19:00

Poo!! CD 1 again here, very early so consoling myself with large glasses of red!! Mmm!

LateToTheTTCParty · 21/02/2011 19:43

Well, I just did a test as this was the day I should have come on if I hadn't had the early ERTD - BFN Sad

I know it was a long-shot, and at least I can get right on with the SWI, due to ovulate again on Sat Grin - here we go again! That early ERTD has really messed up my Period Tracker app stats so I hope I've got all that right. Got my OP strips as a back-up

CaveMum · 21/02/2011 20:08

Evening ladies. Sorry to all of those who have been caught out by ERTD.

Have plenty of Wine

I'm on the countdown to my appointment now - just over 3 weeks to go! Feels like it will never get here!
On the positive side my skin seems to be clearing up, though I will always be spot prone. I'm wondering if it is a sign that my hormones are settliing down [clutches at straws]

Truffkin · 22/02/2011 10:13

Morning!

Sorry that ERTD has arrived again Cookie but hope you enjoyed the Wine and haven't got too bad a head this morning Grin

LateToTheParty looks like we might be ovulation buddies this cycle as FF predicts Sunday for me! Let's get shagging......

Hi Josie it does sound like you are still in the doldrums, maybe the TTC break is not giving you the chill out time you had hoped for. Is there anything else you can plan to give you something else to focus on for a while? Sounds like you need a proper time out.

Although on that topic, I ovulate pretty regularly around CD 15-17 but have had some pretty suspect pant snot this morning. We've been better than usual at SWI every other day so hopefully will catch any rogue early ovulation if my cycle decides to pull a fast one! My temp was slightly raised this morning but not enough to make me think I've ovulated as I am lucky enough to get a really clear and significant shift each month. Of course, I am basing my opinions on previous cycles and this could be a strange one just to teach me a lesson for talking about my settled and predictable cycles after all the long cycle madness of last year!

Hello Frolickers,

Big waves to the oldies and hello to all the newbies!

Especially large Wine clinks to Cavey Womanly Truff Tomboy Tiger Raspberry Cookie and Giraffe

And OMG Toria have PM'd you - how exciting!

I am just having a flying visit to say hi and to let you all know I shall be back with you shortly in full TTC bonkersness.

DH and I have our fist IVF appt next week (I can't believe how quickly it's come round) and I've been told I can stay on clomid until we start the IVF treatment. It's been nice having a couple of months off it but I'm feeling more positive and ready to get back into the saddle again Blush

Anyway, best go as I am at work and skiving should probably get on with some bits and pieces ...

Lots of TTC luck to everyone and look forward to madness inducing symptom spotting soon xxx

gardenpixie · 22/02/2011 13:36

And Josie sorry, I missed a big Wine clink for you; here, have another too Wine xx

JosieSmith1 · 22/02/2011 13:50

Thanks Garden Grin

Turns out my colleagues figured out something was going on and when my senior asked if I was ok I started welling up again so although I haven't talked to her as such, I've emailed them both apologising for them feeling uncomfortable and just explaining what's going on. They're being really good about it and at least now I don't have to hide behind a strong facade

I'm really trying not to think about it but as I'm so regular I know exactly what's going on and when so it's not really working.

Truff I haven't really got anything to take my mind off it, spent a fortune getting car fixed, used rest of money to decorate, then the tv buggered up so we've had to borrow money to buy a new one, so the only thing occupying me is 'how the hell are we going to pay off our debt plus save up for a baby'

Hopefully now that it wouldn't be ideal to get pg I will Grin

TomboyWife · 22/02/2011 21:34

Evening ladies!

Sorry I've been AWOL for a couple of days. I've been out eating and drinking with my colleagues for the past two evenings. I'll feel really Blush if I'm pg.

Cheering up vibes and lots of Wine to those whom ERTD has claimed.

Good to hear from you garden and Josie! Good luck with the IVF appointment garden and I hope you get a run of good luck soon Josie. And I hope the wait for your appointment goes really fast for you Cavey.

Well, I'm officially late now, the weird cramps are still there off and on, but other symptoms are pretty thin on the ground, so I don't know what to think. I'll ask DH to pick up a test tomorrow, then I'll probably spend a couple of days staring at it before I use it. It's the old "BFN is just a failure, but ERTD is the beginning of the next chance at success" thing.

LateToTheTTCParty · 22/02/2011 22:37

I'm on it Truff, nothing like organised scheduled SWI! Grin
I'm testing with the opk all week, after that funny 2-day bleed thing last week I'm keeping my eye on whether I actually do ovulate when Period Tracker says I'm going to... I'm not temperature monitoring yet, might give that a go next month if this month proves unsuccessful.

Fingerscrossed1 · 23/02/2011 09:30

Hi peeps. ERTD was due yesterday and as it didn't arrive I was really quite convinced that we'd nailed it this time. However, she's clearly on her way Sad

I'm ok because I've got so much else to be thinking about with moving and everything but I still feel a bit shit even though I told myself not to. Just starting to get a bit worried that it can't happen when so many other people just seem to get pregnant accidentally, inc brothers girlfriend.

Starting to feel that it isn't happening because I've not given up drinking and because DP went out on saturday and ended up with a 2 day hangover that means his sperm doesn't work. I realise how this sounds so am off now to pull myself together and think about fabric and towels Blush

Imps7 · 23/02/2011 12:53

Oh dear Fingers sorry to hear about BFN, but keep trying if ERTD doesn't arrive as so many people I know say that they didn't get their BFP until several days after ERTD was due. Don't give up hope and get back to the fabrics!!

Re: alcohol - OH and I have decided to give up drinking completely this month just to see if it will help things along. Only problem is, I don't want any of my friends to know that we're TTC and there is no realistic alternative excuse for not drinking! So when we have to drink, we're going to go for the weakest beers and drink them much more slowly!

Sorry you're still feeling so down Josie - I can't think of anything really helpful to suggest to you to take your mind off it. It would be much better for you if you could have a proper break but I know how hard that is.

Yes, Truff and Late - get on with the SWI - I need more BFPs to give me continued hope!

As for me, I'm in the boring first two weeks...funny thing is though I am still "feeling" pregnancy symptoms!! LOL, at least I now know that my mind is playing tricks on me and I can take everything with a pinch of salt during the TWW!
