Ok ladies, here's the new thread, let's hope it's a lucky one!

OP posts:
TomboyWife · 13/02/2011 12:59

Imps it didn't take 8 months for them to give my DH an appointment, it took him 8 months to phone up and ask for one! The wait once he'd phoned was less than a week. Much quicker than I was expecting, actually.

Your symptoms sound really promising Imps! Me, I've got vague and fleeting nausea, being overly emotional, and sweet FA else, so I'm not overly optimistic about this month.

Imps7 · 14/02/2011 07:54

Oh, my mistake Tomboy ! A week is pretty quick. Always think it must be horrendous for blokes to have to w-i-a-c - really quite embarrassing for everyone knows what they're up to!

Apart from boobs, all other symptoms (not that there were many) have completely disappeared...holding out no hope for this month and the horrendous thing is that there's another 45-ish days until the end of my next TWW. Arrrggggg!

Giraffe - they say timing is everything - keep us updated on the symptom spotting!

ToriaPumpkinHead · 14/02/2011 21:48

Evening ladies!

Imps I have been keping an eye on your symptoms in my lurking, everything crosed for you!

Tomboy Glad you've got your OH to make an appt, ours is in three weeks time. Think he's starting to stress about it now.

Truff Has the boob prodding lead to any symptoms?

Giraffe Second that timing is all, fingers crossed.

News here takes the form of my blood test coming back all positive and normal, which has stressed OH out a bit. While there was a chance I had a problem it was less likely his swimmers were doing backstroke! I'm on Day 27 now so ERTD due Wed if I follow the same routine as the last two months.

Have a couple of strange symptoms to spot, lots of blood when I blow my nose, weird cramping and stabbing in my abdomen, tingly nipples and I'm both knackered and have a burning thirst. No spotting yet either which is unusual for recent month, but I think I ovulated two days late which would mean there's every chance ERTD will be two days late so trying not to get my hopes up!

OP posts:
Imps7 · 14/02/2011 22:20

Ooooh Toria those symptoms sounds brilliant!! I'm actually a bit jealous - how daft is that?!

I can't wait for the next BFP on this thread! Good luck all!

Imps7 · 15/02/2011 12:59

I may have just had a wave of nausea!!! How exciting!

Can anyone tell me what the cheapest way of buying pregnancy tests is? Is there somewhere where you can buy in bulk/buy them cheaper than in Boots?

ToriaPumpkinHead · 15/02/2011 13:04

Amazon and eBay. I've used these guys before and they're pretty good, sensitive to 10miu as well so plenty of scope for early testing menkulling :)

OP posts:
Imps7 · 15/02/2011 13:24

10miu? (Excuse the ignorance)

ToriaPumpkinHead · 15/02/2011 14:57

Most pregnany tests measure at 25miu (smaller than mililetres) units of Hcg in a given sample. Early Response tests, such as First Response, are sensitive to 10 - 12miu. The internet cheapies I just linked you to are dipstick tests rather than mid-stream, and also measure to 10miu.

25miu should pick up from a day or two after ERTD is due, depending on when in your cycle you ovulated, how quickly your body reacts, when you implant and various other random factors, 10miu can pick up a pregnancy up to only 7DPO.

Disclaimer: That said, they're most reliable the day ERTD is due. There are stats floating around that give their reliability up to 7 days before ERTD is due and a lot of women get false negatives using them as while they're super sensitive they are, unfortunately, not magic :)

Wow, that was a long, rambly post that makes me sound obsessed. I'm not. I just spent a few months reading up how likely it was that my clear BFN was actually a BFN lol.

OP posts:
Imps7 · 15/02/2011 15:04

Toria - thank you! I have ordered 15 dipsticks off of Amazon for £2.80 (no p&p!) Thank god I thought to ask so early on in my attempts to conceive - I spent a fortune last month!

evilgiraffe · 15/02/2011 15:19

While we're talking cheap POAS - anyone got any recommendations for cheapy (but sensitive) ovulation sticks?

highheelsandequations · 15/02/2011 17:02

evil I have a box full of ovulation sticks, only used about 10 out of 100, they didn't work for me but think that's because of the PCOS not the sticks. If you want them PM me your address and I will happily post to you.

Imps7 · 15/02/2011 18:11

Well my dipsticks have been dispatched, so hopefully they'll be here for Thursday which is when I'm going to test.

My boobs have gone from sore to tingly today - it's like I can actually feel them growing...I really hope they are, even if I'm not pg, because as a 34A I have always hankered after a resplendent pair of norks.

I also just yelled (I mean yelled ) "fuck off and leave me alone" to a fork because it fell off my plate. I guess that means I can add "moody" to the list too Blush

Sad LateToTheTTCParty TTC#1, Cycle 3, UCL 26-ish, CD2

ERTD burst onto the scene yesterday, six whole days early and only nine days after I last ovulated. Confused Never mind, it may be the shortest month of the year but I'll be ovulating twice during Feb! DH isn't that bothered it hasn't happened this month, what with the cystitis and all that, but he did wonder in a small little voice when we were in bed last night whether he might not be quite the man he thinks... it doesn't take much to make them question their place in the world does it!

Fingers and toes crossed for you Imps, keep us posted!

Imps7 · 16/02/2011 10:16

Thanks Late - although have definite pre-ERTD cramps this morning so think that my monthly friend will be turning up early this month too. Better early than late though - means less time until the end of the next 2ww!

I think this list is up to date, I've updated my own stats as ERTD arrived on Sunday. Unfortunately my ovulating time this month looks like it coincides with my husband's football team playing in the cup final at Wembley so am not sure how much SWI we will be able to get in when he is in the pub for most of the weekend and we have a house full of football fans staying over for 2 of the most important nights!

Sorry to hear ERTD got you too LateToTheParty although we are at similar stages in our cycle so might be able to symptom spot together this month!

Luckily (or not, depending on your P-O-V) I have not had to POAS for a few months so I still have a few in my stash and ahve not succumbed to internet cheapies yet. I tend to have a pretty regular cycle nowadays (thankfully) and ERTD tends to turn up early if anything, so I have rarely had any POAS excitement!

Imps let us know how you are getting on and Toria if your stats are right, you are already late so what is happening with your very exciting symptoms?

Am excited about Masterchef starting tonight and that my Mom is coming to stay for the weekend. These are my happy thoughts for the day Grin

CaveMum · 16/02/2011 15:18

Afternoon all. Just checking in to say fingers and toes are firmly crossed for Imps and Toria, as well as everyone else rapidly approaching T-day!

Imps7 · 16/02/2011 19:15

Okay so if you've understood it in the same way as me Truff then I must have understood it correctly!!

Bloody brilliant news Toria - so pleased!!

Wine Wine Wine

CaveMum · 16/02/2011 19:18

TORIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wine Oh why can't we have a champagne glass??!!
Better make it a Brew for you then!

Spill the details, have yuo told MrT yet??

ToriaPumpkinHead · 16/02/2011 20:52

Thanks for the tea Cave And yes Imps and Truff You understand correctly, thanks for the all the excmalation marks! Grin

I have told him, he was a bit underwhelmed but then got excited and has already started looking at Outdoorsy websites for carriers and baby clothes Grin

I just wasn't feeling right at work today, and this was the first day I was definitely late so decided it nothing had happened by the time I got home from work I'd test. It was the faintest of faint lines, I kept looking away and looking back quickly to make sure I wasn't imagining it! Came downstairs and interrupted a game of Grand Theft Auto to say "Um, I think I've got something to tell you..." He agreed with me that there was a line and has now started laying down ground rules, including that I'm not allowed to tell anyone. At all. I pointed out that I HAVE to tell work and he's "thinking it over" Men! Still, he's pleased and I'm pleased and now he doesn't have to jizz-in-a-cup!

I am away this weekend with friends so am going to have to think up a plausible reason for not drinking my share of the cocktails but I plan to tell one of my oldest friends despite his edicts and swear her to secrecy so she can help me out by hiding glasses/buying me alcohol free alternatives etc.

TomboyWife · 16/02/2011 21:07

Toria! Congrats! Wow! Wine

I was beginning to think we were never going to get another BFP on this thread. Hooray!

Well, DH has successfully deposited a load of little swimmers for the lab. He, er, did the deed at home and then ran the, er, product over to the hospital. Except that he went to the wrong platform, missed his train, and therefore had to make a mad dash to get there within the time limit. Ah, the joys of ferrying sperm around London on public transport. Smile

CaveMum · 16/02/2011 21:12

Congratulations Toria! About darn time we had another BFP Grin

TomboyWife · 16/02/2011 22:00
