So near, yet so far! Holiday villa for those waiting TTC#1 having suffered mc

Hi all,

I need to take a holiday with some lovely peeps in the same position; I'm TTC#1 but had 2 mc's this year and now discovered my luteal phase is only 9 days (anything under 10 considered a defect) and probably the reason that I cannot retain a pregnancy.

If you have yet to be blessed with motherhood because mc has cruelly taken away your chance so far, then this is the place to retreat for some R & R whilst your body recovers.

Pull up a sun lounger, and lie back for some lighthearted banter and support whilst monitoring cycles or undergoing investigation and wash down the Vit B6, Agnus Castus, Progesterone and Clomid with a lovely vodka glass of sparkling spring water!!

Dachs he doesn't have an iPhone, but he has a BB with GPS. The BB is a work one so he doesn't have to pay the bill himself, so I think he'd rather stick with that than an iPhone. Was also thinking of an iPad though (mostly 'cause I think they're cool!!). Crazy expensive, but he hasn't got me anything yet so maybe it could be our Christmas & bday presents to each other for the next year Grin?

MamaChristmas · 30/11/2010 19:41

Great suggestion Dachs... iphone is a fab idea Smile

MamaChristmas · 30/11/2010 19:43

wakarimasen · 02/12/2010 08:38

Just checking in again. Been away for a while but have been lurking on this thread!

HAve had some success with B6 to lengthen my LP by 1 day (now 11 days) so this month we have started TTC again Smile On CD12 just now and normally OV on CD13/14 so I'm quite busy Wink

Its handy that I'm off work all week due to the snow too - nice and relaxed!

MamaChristmas · 02/12/2010 10:08

Dachs this is a tricky one...I won't be offended if you stick with what you already got!

  1. 12DachshundsofChristmas (Some cheesy feel good movie, actually called 12 Dogs of Christmas!)

  2. WewishyouaDachshundsChristmas

  3. willsantanoticeimnotrudolph

orestyemerrywombat · 02/12/2010 13:19

Thanks. Needed to vent. Another birth announcement at work.

MamaChristmas · 02/12/2010 13:53

Congratulations on a fabulous vent, well done wombat!! lol! Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

wakarimasen · 02/12/2010 14:19

Hi Wombat

I feel your pain. My friend announced she was preg last week. Got pregnant first time they tried and have had a "great" 12 week scan. Have been sujected to photos of her clasping the "bump" on facebook!

I have been grinning through gritted teeth!

Wombat I am impressed with the vent too! Has it helped?

I cried yesterday - we watched the first episode of the new series of Peep Show where Sophie gives birth. DH asked why I was crying and I said "I just want my baby". Since the MC EVERYTHING on tv seems to involve being pg in some way or another!

Dont you think it would be really nice if we could all get together in RL for mulled wine and mince pies? Just because we all understand. Would be lots of tears I imagine!

Anyway, I'm going a little crazy from being snowed in for the thrid day in a row and looking like its gonna be tomorrow too! I'm all for a week off work but not when you cant get out!!

orestyemerrywombat · 02/12/2010 16:14

Xmas Grin MamaC, Wakarimasen and Velvet - glad my little outburst impressed Xmas BlushXmas Grin It was all getting a bit too much! Yes, I think it has helped (that and going to the gym at lunchtime!).

Velvet - it's not just on TV though is it? It's everywhere!!!!!!!!!!! I really thought the gods were having a laugh at my expense on Friday afternoon. I think my work (large organisation) must have been holding one of their sporadic parenting guest lectures or something at lunchtime because I pressed the button for the lift to the canteen and when the door opened there were ten, YES TEN pregnant women in there. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!

I think mulled wine meet up is a fab idea Xmas Grin

Wakarimasen - I'm sorry about your friend's announcement upsetting you. ((Hugs)) It's tough isn't it? Logically I know there isn't a finite number of babies to go round and someone else's good news doesn't deprive me of my chance, but somehow that still does nothing to slay the green eyed monster!

wakarimasen · 02/12/2010 16:51

Yes and it's worse when they didn't even know you were pregnant. She doesn't know how much salt she's adding to the wound!

orestyemerrywombat · 02/12/2010 16:56

Ah, I had that at the weekend with a friend and her new born and lots of very very well meant 'advice' about "getting on with it".
