Welcome to the 2009 MN Christmas Appeal Thankyou Thread

First of all thank you very much to my good friend NormaStanlelFletcher for organising the whole thing

Each mumsnetter that receives a parcel will see a number printed on it.

When adding to this thread could you all please mention the number so that the sender knows for definite it was their parcel.

Thank to MNHQ for helping norma with this mammoth task.

A Very Happy Christmas to you all

Norma Sorry for the crying on the phone there
I'm left lost for words and overwhelmed by the kindness of santa09170 and santa09385

I cannot belive there are so many kind and wonderful people out there.
My ds's will love the gifts.
Infact, ds1 (who is 2) has just come and given me a hug and said "aahhhh ok mummy"

I hope you all have a wonderful christmas xxx

pheasantpluckersanta · 24/12/2009 12:02

PheasantPlucker - so pleased the parcel arrived, I would have been more imaginative but with late notice Amazon is a Godsend!! There was supposed to be another puzzle but I messed it up. There will also be a little something for you but it may be after Christmas.

I am full of admiration for anyone who has a child with SN - I struggle to cope with mine sometimes despite them having no problems. I hope that you all have a very special Christmas xxx

jofeb04 · 24/12/2009 12:24

Recieved a Mn'er secret santa this morning, but could not see a reference on there.

It came in a christmas card, with a postal order and a Marks and Spencers gift card along with some other stuff (don't want to give too much away incase you do not want it in the open).

Hope it is enough for you to recognise yourself (Blackwood may help!).

Thank you so much, it really has helped with Christmas. We all really appreciate it. Thank you x

09323 · 24/12/2009 12:28

Thank you very much to 09323 for her very generous gift. Thank you. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

OK, I am very tearful now! And, I have the reference, although I see my Santa has seen the previous posts, so knows her lovely gifts for the girls have arrived.

The box.... I really don't know what to say. And your lovely card. What a special gift. I am blown away. I have never ever had any JM, and have always envied those people who do!

I wasn't going to say this, but I will now. We made a conscious effort from 2002 to try to make dd1's then later dd2's Christmasses as magical as possible. In 2001, just before dd1 was 1, my Dad died. Just before midnight on 23/12. I got the call at 1.30am on Christmas Eve. It is always a really odd time of year. And I feel a bit wierd. I spend the 23rd trying very hard to cheer my Mum up. Usually she comes to us for Christmas (about 150 odd miles away) but she is with my sister this year.

Sorry this is probably far too much information!

I cannot tell you how touched I am.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

And I hope you and your family have the happiest of Christmasses and a wonderful 2010.

xxxx

Santa09389 · 24/12/2009 13:04

Santa09389 (((hugs)))

I have no idea who you are and i can't believe what i recieved this morning!!!!

The girls will adore what you have sent and the boys i am sure will have great fun choosing something. As for DH and I,well words cannot begin to express how we feel.

We are so very very grateful for your generosity and the thought you put into what you sent was amazing!!!

I will enjoy having a shower with my Body Shop goodies and god the gift cards?????

I am overwhelmed really.....

I have donated in the past and will hopefully be in a position to donate next year again.

This has given us such a boost so thank you so much xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

09385akaLBBsanta · 24/12/2009 14:04

LBB I'm so pleased you like the parcel. It was a lot of fun assembling it. I hope the clothes work for you, I love their funky stuff for boys but I know it's not to everyone's taste. The puzzle is like one my DD has and it keeps her going for hours, and the cotton reels I bought for her at the same time as I bought for your older one, so we can see how they both get on! Hope you also enjoy the stuff for yourself.

Really really glad I could help.

TeaMonster · 24/12/2009 14:07

09566 A great big thank you for your wonderful presents. I was overwhelmed by your generousness and thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please can you e-mail me your address as the minimads would like to send a thankyou card themselves. We have a lot of snow where we are a the moment, so they have been brill gifts. We have already used the finger painting, as they couldn't resist and we popped the DVD's in their Christmas Elf Bags this morning and the one of the DVD's has been on too!!

09553 Well what can I say, I was out getting some more milk at the local shop when your parcel arrived this morning and my DH opened it with DS1. What wonderful gifts. DS1 is currently busy o'clocking - which is so cool as he is obsessed with numbers!!

Mini will be wearing the landrover type top tomorrow, he would have put it on today if he hadnt already been dressed.

Words fail me, the kindness and generosity of strangers at this time of year, especially when times are hard for all is amazing.

Yes we have had a hard year with the mastectomy and subsequent ops, but we still have each other and are so thankful for that. I am also so thankful for the power of mums and mumsnet. It makes me proud to be part of a large internet community, which yes can be clicky sometimes, but also shines the brightest when people need them most.

So I wish I could find the words to say how I feel, I am trying and failing, but Thank you. All of you, not just my Secret Santa's but all the Secret Santa who have participated. To Norma and MNHQ for facilitating this massive event. I have been a santa in the pass and will be again when circumstances change.

I hope that your kindness is repaid in spades, 10 fold.

andagain · 24/12/2009 14:15

TeaMonster, I am so happy you got the parcel (09553) before Xmas! I am sorry I didn't get a chance to wrap it all up but got my match on Tuesday so rushed to get it in the post.
Really pleased the boys like the presents.
Have a wonderful Christmas!

secretsanta4twoshoes · 24/12/2009 14:22

09560 · 24/12/2009 16:44

09560 Just got home from work to find another parcel from you! I really wasnt expecting anything else and now have tears in my eyes as I type this! I am so overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity!

DD is absolutely over the moon, she is dancing around the house with the apron on singing 'I love Mumsnet, I love Mumsnet, Mumsnet's great, Mumsnet's great' (to the tune of London's Burning)

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are truly wonderful, and deserve many lovely things this Christmas.

xxxxxx

jofeb04sSecretSanta · 24/12/2009 16:45

jofeb04

I'm glad the card arrived. It was a bit of a botch-job because I was heading out of the country before I got my match, so I'm sorry for that. However, now I have your details I have a few more concrete bits I'd still like to send your children if that is okay?

NormaStanleyFletcher · 24/12/2009 16:50

Can I just add a personal thank you to all the donors.

You are wonderful, and have put up with and compensated for my dramas and crises and still managed to pull so much off. And there is more to come over the next few weeks

So thank you all

09915 · 24/12/2009 16:51

Ref 09915, I have just returned home from work to your enormous parcel full of goodies. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the thought and effort you went to in sending this for us.

My DD will love everything inside so I'm going to wrap them up using your lovely wrapping paper and put them under the tree for her to open tomorrow. I havent opened my presents up yet, I'm leaving them until tomorrow as they'll be the only ones I'll have to open. So will come back and thank you again once i know what's inside!

I will be opening the chocolates later tonight with a nice glass of lambrini wine and raising a toast to you and your family. You have no idea how much you have made our Christmas!

I really hope that you and your family have a wonderful day tomorrow and may the new year bring you all the happiness you deserve.

Love '09915' and DD xxxxx

jofeb04 · 24/12/2009 16:54

It is up to you jofeb04secretsanta. There is really no need though, it was more than enough for us.

PixieOnaChristmasTree · 24/12/2009 16:57

Norma, I nominated someone and would love to know if they have received/will receive. Is there anything I can do to find this out?

NormaStanleyFletcher · 24/12/2009 16:58

Pixie - email me and I will try to let you know

jofeb04sSecretSanta · 24/12/2009 17:06

jofeb I'd really like to send them. I have the bits already but couldn't send them until I knew for sure that I wasn't matched with someone with teenage boys iygwim. The card was meant to tide you over and help with some of the costs of Christmas, or to free up some of your own cash to spend on yourself or presents.

It'll be a couple of weeks though. Hope that's okay.

SantasKinkyKnickers0nMaHead · 24/12/2009 17:26

Wow!!!!

At the moment I am so overwhelmed with happiness.

I have just had someone come over from across with street with two parcels!!!!
