Welcome to the 2009 MN Christmas Appeal Thankyou Thread

First of all thank you very much to my good friend NormaStanlelFletcher for organising the whole thing

Each mumsnetter that receives a parcel will see a number printed on it.

When adding to this thread could you all please mention the number so that the sender knows for definite it was their parcel.

Thank to MNHQ for helping norma with this mammoth task.

A Very Happy Christmas to you all

Ref 09324

Good Morning everyone.
I've mainly lurked on here for nearly 5 years. This morning at 7.30am I was knocked out of bed by a delivery man.

Someone has sent me a parcel!!!

I have my suspicions as to who put my name forward and I shall be giving her a virtual hard stare at some point over Christmas!

Thank you so very much. The children's faces as I opened the parcel and they saw all the goodies in there............. just magical!
There's also a gift card for M&S with £100 on it.

Many, many thanks. Things have been so tight since DH was made redundant and this has really stunned us both. Infact I am still feeling a bit dazed by it.

So to andiem and her 2 boys thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. I wish you a fabulous Christmas and a fantastic 2010. I hope you're not too disappointed that I am not a more prolific poster on Mumsnet. Your gift has made a huge difference to our Christmas and I am so very grateful to you.

How lovely is this thread

Amazoniancracker · 24/12/2009 10:22

Ds was 2 last month. He is uncontainably excited by the site of the box! I have enough clothes for him as my friend in Cornwall has 2 boys a couple of years older and she hands me down all their things which is a blessing.

Thanks so much again and a very happy xmas. I hope 2010 is a smasher for us all.

Santa09108 · 24/12/2009 10:49

I'm glad you received it safely. I'm sorry I wasn't able to pop more in (as I wanted you to have it in time) but I do wish you and yours girls a wonderful Christmas and hope that 2010 is a much better year for you.

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 24/12/2009 10:54

huge apologies to 09309santa & amazoniancracker i've just discovered i'm actually 09308 santa not 09309 santa as i'd thought i'd remembered correctly there are thomas and henry in my parcel too! really sorry for any confusion i've caused you both.. & i hope my 09308 parcel arrives ok.

09348 · 24/12/2009 10:58

I had an envelope arrive yesterday but couldn't post until now.

Thanks so much for the voucher, I have ordered some Disney dvd's that the kids will love

This really means a lot to me, I became a student in September as my job was not secure enough to rely on and had managed to get a few things together from codes given on here and freecycle but was starting to get a bit worried that the kids would miss out.

They haven't asked for much (DS would like a red power ranger and DD a buggy for her fave teddy) but they will both have a few extra surprises now!

They have however spent most of last week making paper chains and playing in the snow! Both cost nothing, and we have had great fun!

I hope to return the favour next year, this is so special and is what Christmas is all about!

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Thank you so much!

undertheboredwalk · 24/12/2009 11:05

09372 ParcelForce tells me that your parcel arrived safely this morning, am so glad you got it in time, I wanted to say I am so sorry about lack of batteries, I bought some and then found them after I'd sent the parcel
I hope you have some and don't have to trek out for any!

Duritzfan · 24/12/2009 11:07

Hi PurplePillows...

i think I may be your santa ..if I am I hope that the clothes are useful for your daughter ...

Does that sound like your parcel ?

xxxxxxx

PheasantPlucker · 24/12/2009 11:08

Well, I don't have a reference number, but I received 2 parcels this morning, both to The Mumsnetter of the house. There is no number on them, but I think your name is on there, and your initials are R.I.

Thank you so much for the Junior Cranium, billions of pens, and 2 gorgeous books.

I said before that I am not well known on here, I tend to hide in SN. I have an 8 year old daughter with a variety of SN/disabilities. I spend a lot of time feeling quite isolated, as dd's conditions mean we cannot do a lot of stuff that other 8 year olds and their families do. So I cannot tell you how lovely it is to know that someone thought of us twice, once to nominate and then generously to send gifts. When the postie arrived at 730 this morning I actually cried.

I - and my two dds and dh - are really, really grateful to you. We wish the happiest of Christmasses to the kind sender. And to the person who nominated us.

I haven't namechanged - I have never worked out how to do it! x

Duritzfan · 24/12/2009 11:08

Bugger !! Name change didnt work !! Oh well....xxx

PheasantPlucker · 24/12/2009 11:13

Sorry, should have said, the parcels were from Amazon

littleboyblue · 24/12/2009 11:17

Norma, if you haven't seen my message can you lookhere please.
TIA

09563thankyou · 24/12/2009 11:21

09563 thank you so much. Your massive box arrived this morning just as we were opening presents as we are going to DH's family later so did ours today as will not fit anything apart from us in my small car.

Was so lovely really am amazed at all the things. There was £40 of sainburys vouchers - very very handy!! Gorgeous smellies for me and chocolates which said to share (may have to hide away...) and toys for DD and DS which are perfect. DS espically loves the science things and DD is cleaning her teeth as I type! She has an oral aversion (lots of SN) so is great to see her brushing her teeth.

Everything perfect for us but actually my favourite thing was the card and the words - I hope the new year brings love, life and laughter in abundance. Me too thank you so so much XXX

scottishmummyofone · 24/12/2009 11:25

ref: 09342

thank you SO much for the monsoon vouchers. I honestly can't believe I've got another present . You and the other MNetter have made my year, thank you so much and I'm off to cry again.

The vouchers are ideal for getting DD a nice wee dress for her 2nd birthday in February.

(hug)

littleboyblue · 24/12/2009 11:26

santa 09385

OMG. There just aren't words to express the pure joy I just had going through your wonderful package. I truely am sitting here typing this in tears!
The items in there are just wonderful. I really don't know what to say.
You are an amazing person (all of you secret santas are)
To even send such lovely wrapping paper

Thank you so much for sending this.
You may have seen my message above to Norma, I have to tell you that I am not sure if this gift was intended for us as I received something last week.
If it is, thank you sooooooo soooooo much, if it is not, then whoever it is for will no doubt burst with happiness.

PheasantPlucker · 24/12/2009 11:29

Me again..... the postman just returned. He said 'I got back to the depot and there was another one!'.

Thanks for the Disney Princess puzzle. My dd2 will love this (she is 5)

Your initials are RI but once again no ref number.

Thank you RI x

NormaStanleyFletcher · 24/12/2009 11:37

LLB - I have replied on your other thread.

Many people will receive more than one match. The generosity of MNers is such that there are more donors than nominees

Can I just say that this thread has cheered me up this morning (that and the fact that I have finished my ABs so I can finally have a drink later today)

If there are any queries please feel free to email me on [email protected] as I may not see them on here. I am accessing the internet a couple of times a day so I may not get back to you imediately.

Love and merry Christmas to you all

ChilloHippi · 24/12/2009 11:41

And goodness me, Fletch, you deserve a big drink!

09563santa · 24/12/2009 11:41

So glad you liked the parcel, I hope the toys were OK for your DD as I was told there were 2 boys. I know my almost 3 year old DD would have loved them, so hopefully OK? My daughter also made the card, I think the job of making all our cards has been her best thing about xmas .

I won't hold it against you if you keep the chocs to yourself - after all there were seperate ones for the kiddies!

I'm just loving the Secret Santa thing, gives me the warm fuzzies

Merry Xmas one and all!!!!!!

PheasantPlucker · 24/12/2009 11:41

Thank you NSF for organising this. I am glad you are on the mend now

reallywoundup · 24/12/2009 11:49

lovely thread- the true meaning of mumsnet at this time of year hope my nominees all recieved their gifts, the christmas appeal gifts we recieved last christmas made us incredibly happy! Well done fletch!

teenyweenytadpole · 24/12/2009 11:53

Ref. 09163, you are so very welcome, I am glad the things will be useful, it was all a bit of a rush to get the package off to you as we only got the nomination on Wednesday night and then I was working on Thursday and Friday. Anyway, I just wanted to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. xxxxxxxxxxx
