Welcome to the 2009 MN Christmas Appeal Thankyou Thread

First of all thank you very much to my good friend NormaStanlelFletcher for organising the whole thing

Each mumsnetter that receives a parcel will see a number printed on it.

When adding to this thread could you all please mention the number so that the sender knows for definite it was their parcel.

Thank to MNHQ for helping norma with this mammoth task.

A Very Happy Christmas to you all

Thank You - Thank You - Thank You

am amazon parcel arrived today, it was my secretsanta, thank you so much the gifts are lovely.

09922sender i hope you and your family have a good Christmas and thanks again you are a very kind MNer.

maybe09750sender · 23/12/2009 17:24

09750 sorry that was a bit confusing!!
Because you had replied and thanked with a number almost identical to mine (7 and 5 swapped over) I thought I may have written the wrong code in the card.
But no, you have a present from someone else not me, and now 09570 has received the gifts I sent

So sorry to be so confusing, I thought I had pre-Christmas mix-up brain!!!!!

09570 glad the presents arrived safely. Only found out yesterday who I was sending to, so it was a bit of a hurried buy.

Have a lovely Christmas!

HumBuggerance · 23/12/2009 17:29

ah phew. Mince pies all round then?

jinglejet · 23/12/2009 17:33

a massive thank you I will either brave the shops tomorrow, or wait until the sales, but either way, it will be very useful!

Like a previous poster said, i look forward to a time when i can spread joy like this - it really does make a huge differrence when things are so tight

A very merry xmas to you and your family, and all the lovely giftees and gifters

maybe09750sender · 23/12/2009 17:35

HumBuggerance - yes mince pie would be lovely!
Enjoy your vouchers, and sorry again for any
worry I caused you

santa09922 · 23/12/2009 17:41

Glad you liked them! Didn't have much time as I only got your details yesterday afternoon.
I don't feel like it's been much effort on my part - after NSF pressing 'send' from the snow capped mountains of scotland and the package being driven through the night and arrived at your town at 3am... All I did was press 'send' from the comfort of my living room!

Very glad it reached before christmas!

santa09922 · 23/12/2009 17:50

and sorry about the wrapping paper. I couldn't manage any at the last minute.

For santa09568

Omg omg I am so shocked and delighted by your parcel.

I have never been a recipient before, I really don't feel I deserve this but

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

DD and I have shed a few happy tears today thanks to you

Thankyou to whoever you are. Have had a good cry. I looked at these Thomases in ELC today and couldn't afford them. DS will be utterly thrilled.

Last year, 6 months after ex-h abandoned us, the fabulous support of MN helped me through. This year, 18 months on, our second xmas with no husband or father for ds, it is somehow even more poignant that we have been remembered.

Big hugs.

Happy christmas one and all. [fmsile]

To my wonderful Mumsnet santa!

Thank you just does not seem like enough! I came home today to find a box full of wonderful things for my DS, the clothes are fabulous and will be well used and are so greatly appreciated. The Garage is amazing! Truly amazing! My DP is playing with it just now. The fuzzy felt has brought back so many memories for me, love that stuff!
Then I found your gift card and that was me, tears central! It is just simply too much, I cannot begin to thank you properly for what you have done for my family.

You have made me so unbelievably happy, for the first time in as long as I can remember, the tears I have cried have been happy tears.
I was dreading Christmas this year and now it doesnt seem as daunting, all thanks to your kindness and overwhelming generosity. 2009 is a year I would like to forget for so many reasons but you have certainly ended it on a high for me.

So thank you, thank you, thank you!

To you and your family, I wish you wonderful things for Christmas and all the best for 2010.

Jinglejet - Merry Christmas glad you got it. Spoil yourself.

eandh · 23/12/2009 20:25

09349 Thankyou for my present, it was a lovely surprise and very unexpected

I would have kept it till Xmas morning to open but it had got caught in a machine somewhere in the sorting office and ripped so I had to sign to say the packaging was damaged (thankfully the chocolates are all in tact and hidden away from dh and teh dd's prying eyes and already had a bath using some of my smellies!)

Thankyou and I hope you have a lovely Xmas

imdreamingofaPurplexmas · 23/12/2009 20:42

I'm not sure if I have put the correct ref no it could be 09368

But who ever you are thank you so very much

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 23/12/2009 21:58

09309 Unlikelyamazonian's santa i'm so delighted the box arrived in time for Christmas. I hope the henry and thomas ones are the ones you've seen & apologies in advance of driving you crazy with the siren noises of some of the cars how old is your little boy? i ask as I have a pile of toddler boys clothes that we won't be using for his little sister and i need to find a home for them...

Have an absolutely wonderful christmas and new year and all the best for 2010 xoxox - FiByTheSea

I received my parcel on Monday, but I was all confused about MN Secret Santa - I didn't know anything about it- someone had to explain to me!

I confess that I cried when I opened it - I am so so touched by the kindness of strangers to me and my 2 dds, it has made this Christmas very special despite the situation we're in.

I don't know what's in the girls' parcels so I'll have to do an update, but thank you so much for my voucher - I don't get to treat myself to clothes usually - we're almost entirely clothed in donations the refuge receives so it will be a lovely treat to pick something.

Thank you again to my secret santa, and to whoever nominated me too, I hope you have a lovely Christmas & New Year
x

FiveSoloRings · 23/12/2009 22:30

Thank you!

CherryChristmasEveryone · 23/12/2009 22:34

splishsplosh- how old are you dc's? boys girls? and what size clothes are you? i ask because i have a pile of decent stuff to get rid of, i have been in a refuge in the past, and would dearly love them to go to someone who really needs them rather than just bung them down the charity shop

SevenSaltiresSwimming · 23/12/2009 22:35

Right.I got a parcel today. A huge parcel in fact full of M&S goodies (including stilton, bucks izz, oatcakes)and a cake. I think the number is 09363 but the 6 could be a 0!
Whoever it was thank you, I am stunned. DH rang me at work (we're not allowed our phones on the shop floor so he rang my bosses extension and I thought somehting was wrong) and said "Saltire, there's a huge box been delivered addressed tot eh mumsnetter of the house, do you think it's been sent here by mistake?".
Norma, bless her, had told me I was nominated ,because she needed to get my address from me, so I was expecting at some point to get something, but I was not expecting this and I am truly grateful thank you so very much.

SevenSaltiresSwimming · 23/12/2009 22:36

OOh and thank you to whoever nominated me, I was shocked when Norma told me,

FiveSoloRings · 23/12/2009 22:50

Yes, I'll second that Saltire, thank you to my nominee too, it was a very big surprise; truly lovely...

09371 · 24/12/2009 07:40
