Welcome to the 2009 MN Christmas Appeal Thankyou Thread

First of all thank you very much to my good friend NormaStanlelFletcher for organising the whole thing

Each mumsnetter that receives a parcel will see a number printed on it.

When adding to this thread could you all please mention the number so that the sender knows for definite it was their parcel.

Thank to MNHQ for helping norma with this mammoth task.

A Very Happy Christmas to you all

Fab, what did you send~? Could it be that the person hasnt seen the ref?

secretsanta09562 · 10/01/2010 18:33

Tetchytalcy!!!!!!!

I am ever so grateful for your gifts which arrived today. Ds1 took it in while i was out today and i was crying my eyes out when i opened it. My mum just happened to be here today when i opened it and couldn't believe that someone i didn't know would have sent wonderful gifts to us!!!

The dd's are dying to change into their pj's and dd2 is taking the fluffy rabbit to bed with her tonight too.

DH and i will maybe get a "dine in for 2" meal with the voucher and spend some much needed quality time together.

This parcel has come at a time when our lives have been in a mess and lots of horrible stuff happened last year. This is a wonderful start to what i hope will be a much better year for us.

So once again thank you so very very much from all of us,it means soooo much xxxxxx

I hope this year goes well and i will be in a position again to donate to someone else !!!

I hope 2010 is good for you and your family too xxxx

tetchyTaLcY · 10/01/2010 19:03

I'm glad it got to you ok!You are so welcome.
I didn't realise you had a DS, or i would have sent something for him too.

Sorry that you have had a crap time, i really do wish you all the best for 2010 X

secretsanta09562 · 10/01/2010 19:15

The DD's are tucked up in bed in their new jammies and looking very pleased with them lol.

The ds's are happy to see mum with a big grin on her face and that's enough of a gift for them (they both said that) so no matter.

You sent more than enough xxxxxx

tetchyTaLcY · 10/01/2010 19:28

That's wonderful. The boys must be old enough to understand, although i would like to send them a wee gift too!

secretsanta09562 · 10/01/2010 19:36

Honestly Tetchytalc do not send anymore The boys are 18 and 14 and do not need anything!!!!

Just glad to see their little sisters and mum get a treat lol. Ds1 is working so he's fine and ds2 is happy doing his own thing.

Lovely thought but please done, you have done way too much already!!!

Big (((((hugs)))))

NeedCoffee · 10/01/2010 19:46

Fab-My gift has not been acknowledged either. Thats 2 MN SS from me that haven't been recognised this year. Sometimes wonder why I bother.

tetchyTaLcY · 10/01/2010 20:16

Aaaah, they are older boys, cool!
So happy the girls are pleased. It has made my girls very happy too

Take care

magnolia74 · 10/01/2010 21:35

I have sent 2 and only one was thanked for but I don't cae at all!!! Some of the people may be having a shite time of it or be embarrassed or not have internet at the moment.
I am pleased to help and thats what its about not the humble thank you's

FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 10/01/2010 21:42

I don't think it's the case of people wanting a thankyou magnolia, it's nice to know they have been recieved and are not missing in the royal mail system.

piximonkeyingaround · 10/01/2010 22:34

When I was at the local shop this week I overheard the post office clerk saying that RM deliveries are running about 3 weeks behind in lots of areas so don't lose heart if you haven't been thanked yet.

BitOfFun · 10/01/2010 23:52

Some people haven't had any matches yet etc, so I think this might still be ongoing? Hopefully Royal Mail will catch up with themselves too- Norma did a good job under difficult circumstances, and I'm sure some people will still get a nice surprise.

FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 10/01/2010 23:57

Should I have been emailed asing for my address???

Maybe a new thread will help, one for those who have yet to send, those who have yet to recieve and those who wish to know if they have been recieved???

LouIsOnAHighwayToHell · 11/01/2010 12:07

I posted your parcel some time last week so hopefully you will get it soon. It is not much but it is some little things that I hope you all like, can use, can regift . I also forgot to put in a card etc. I had just got back from a hard earned holiday so please excuse the unorganisation of the presents.

Hulababy · 11/01/2010 12:48

magnolia - I don't think anyone is waiting for thanks. But a mere acknolwedgement that it has been recieved by the right person would be nice, wherever possible.

I know I would prefer to know that my parcel was recieved by the right person and didn't end up in the wrong hands or lost on transit. I am still waiting though I believe it was delivered the Monday before Christmas.

MNSanta09555 · 11/01/2010 13:29

XmasAppealThankyou if you live in Surrey then it may have been me that sent you the £30 Argos voucher.

If it is then I am glad you received it. I usually include more stuff but was only given an address last minute and no details about your children.

My Mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer so I was in a state and then she was moved into a bungalow because the cancer was also in her legs so she couldn't manage the stairs so we had to move her as well. It was chaos so I apologise that it was only what was asked for.

i received a lovely box this morning, containing a minnie mouse top and tights for dd2, spongepaint pens which she will adore, dd1 will love the little sewing set, dd2 has already nabbed the lolly and they will share the choc coins when dd1 gets back from school, and they will play with the bubbles when the snow is gone. also in the boy was a set of nail stuff and gem which i assume was meant for me, and a lovely smellies set. then you can imagine my surprise when i opened the card and discovered a £20 next gift card! how fantastic, i can never afford to buy clothes from next, that will get some much needed jeans for dd1 who has grown out of everything she owns!!!! thank you so so much xxxxxx

xmasrec · 11/01/2010 14:08

Ref - 09564

Thankyou so much for the items, my dc love them all! the rocket balloons went down a treat as did the pirates and volcano set. The hand cream is lovely too.

Really lovely thoughful gifts, i cannot tell you how grateful we all are!

09328 · 12/01/2010 08:36

XmasAppealThankyou

if you live in Surrey it might have been me who sent you the amazon vouchers. i am puzzled though, because from what you say you aren't the person whose details I was given.

I was told they were for someone whose husband had been made redundant and who had four girls. I was meant to provide for the two teenagers, hence the unoriginality of the voucher thing. Also it was a very last minute job.

Anyway, it might be nice to get in touch with Norma so we can find out if the girls have totally missed out

xmasrec · 13/01/2010 10:47

Ref - 09305

Thankyou so much, was very shocked when the parcel came this morning.

The tops are gorgeous! dd loves hello kitty! and ds has a slight obsession with dino's so that will go down a treat too!

Dd loves making things so the collage kit is definitely the right thing, and the dino playmat is wonderful too, ds has a few small plastic dinosaurs so the fact it turns into a box gets the big thumbs up from me!

Oh and thankyou so much for the gift for me too

I think i have said thankyou too many times, but words cannot express how i feel.

ilovesprouts · 13/01/2010 11:10

are the parcels still been posted out

XmasAppealThankyou · 13/01/2010 16:10

09328:
I have got 4 girls (and a boy) and yes my husband was made redundant. Only one is a teenager though. Maybe just a mix up but I am so very greatful

magicOC · 13/01/2010 21:03

Ilovesprouts -It looks like it has stopped (would love to be proved wrong tho). Nothing has been heard from Fletch since she posted saying she would get it sorted in a day or two and that was over a wk ago .

I have waited paitently with a sack full of stuff (all new kids bits and bobs), but, have almost given up hope.

FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 13/01/2010 21:20

Can we sort it out between us? It seems like such a shame when people have gone to so much effort.

fairywithflowers · 13/01/2010 21:29

I got fed up of waiting (although I know Norma did a great job) but I must have been one of the easiest matches and I never received one.

I sorted my own out this week
