Welcome to the 2009 MN Christmas Appeal Thankyou Thread

First of all thank you very much to my good friend NormaStanlelFletcher for organising the whole thing

Each mumsnetter that receives a parcel will see a number printed on it.

When adding to this thread could you all please mention the number so that the sender knows for definite it was their parcel.

Thank to MNHQ for helping norma with this mammoth task.

bumping as I had to search a bit for this and apologising - I got a match on the 23rd and still haven't sent [blush blush] I'm so sorry, I've been v crap at sorting this for a million reasons (some of which I'll be discussing with my therapist later!) but at least one more person has a nice surprise to come still, ordered this very minute

pinotmonster - I believe I was the sender of yours - belated Merry Christmas - so glad it's arrived. Have been checking this thread and worried that not all of the parcels I sent got to their recipients and, what with it being a Secret Santa thing, I didn't put a return address on any of them, d'oh - I thought I'd scrawled the number on the outside of the parcels tho

Jewellery Santa, I am so grateful it was a lovely present - watch, necklace and then some earrings in a gold bag, I was overwhelmed and had no idea where it had come from until another MNetter pointed me in this direction.

I am also very grateful to my nominator.

DH was quite ill over Xmas and is now in the hospice, we are working towards him coming home but symptom control is proving difficult and today we were told hopefully has more than weeks but we are prob talking months now and not that many.

This christmas appeal is amazing and next year I would love to do something in return.

pm - you're very welcome. I've not been as prolific a MNer this year as I had been in previous years, so please forgive me for not knowing your situation. Am praying the symptoms get sorted and he gets to come home soon so you get some really special time together as a family.

I feel awful for posting this but am a bit worried in case my parcel went astray. I recieve an email to say I had been nominated but have not recieved yet.

SORRY just worried incase the upstairs flat have had the parcel away.....it wouldn't be the first time.

I sent a parcel, it was delivered on Christmas Eve but not a sausage back. I didn't do this for thanks but it would have been nice to hear if the recipient and her children enjoyed the gifts.

i seem to think this has gone a bit astray eg senders not knowing if parcels were received, and receivers knowing you have been nominated and not receiving anything....
can anyone think of a way to organise this next time without this added stress lol
I mean are name changes neccesary ?? as i know this caused a problem for the person organising all of this ....
come on ideas people, lets think of ways this can be made better for this years appeal....

I am so overwhelmed with the kindness of you all.
Just before Xmas I recieved a big box of goodies including a lovely coat for my daughter and some really nice dresses (she has one on today!) An mp3 player which she is so pleased with and lots of lovely Disney Princess things. Thank you sooooo Much xx

After Xmas I recieved Amazon vouchers for £40 and they have bought som things for my kitchen

I also recieved an Argos voucher for £30 and I used this towards a new and much needed bed set for dh and I.

I had posted a thanks for my very kind and generous parcel on 23/12 but wanted to make sure you know it arrived safely as other donors have some concerns about their sent items, so once again a massive thanks to you.

Did you get your parcel? Just a bit worried in case it went missing or to the wrong address.

I have been thinking for ages I would like to offer to do the next one, SparrowFflamau.

I know mine has been delivered but it takes the shine off doing something nice when they don't let you know.

For those of you who have not heard if yours has been received I am sure they have!

I was a lucky girl to receive one but tbh I did not even know there was a mumsnet xmas appeal and it was a couple of weeks before someone else on msn by chance pointed out to me what it was! I had a gift that i had no idea where it came from.

I must say it has really lifted my spirits in what has in all honesty been the worst month ever and as a family we are facing my dh not being here for the next xmas.

I would love to either do or help do the next one.

Fab, don't be downhearted someone somewhere will have been delighted with your efforts.
