I have had enough of heatwave after heatwave. Especially as a dog owner. Ive just stuck on Gilmore Girls as a means of escape!

So please join me here if you can't wait for Autumn and share any of your Autumn joys!

Put it in the Christmas section in the hope of finding my kinda people! I

T1mesAreHardForDreamers · 28/07/2026 19:29

Me me meeee I am here.

I have had the WORST bout of anxiety this year and I absolutely love autumn so am really hoping I will have recovered by the autumn as it is my absolute time of year and I want to feel like my normal self again.

I don't love heat either and I think it just contributes to feeling not great. A lovely thread about all cosy autumm things is just what I need right now 🍂🥮🍁☕️🍰

Slow cooker meals made in the morning when the kids are back at school. Crisp, leafy dog walks, electric blanket back on the bed.

birdysong · 28/07/2026 19:31

Awwww my people!!!sorry you've not been feeling well @T1mesAreHardForDreamers. I have been weaning off my medication (sertraline) and feel so down so trying to cheer myself up thinking about one of my fav times of year!

Feel like I want to bake an apple pie!

oooo yes, the slow cooker. good shout. i genuinely feels more energised in the autumn, and more productive. not weighed down with the pressures of summer.....

Pumpkin spiced latte’s. I’ve succumbed to the Starbucks sachet version in Asda right now. Roll on September

1AnotherOne · 28/07/2026 19:37

Me!!!!

romantic version: long crisp dog walks, blue skies, a chill in the air and crunchy leaves that she runs around chasing. Back home to slow cooker and blanket on the sofa with nice candles on.

reality: mud mud ruddy mud, it’s probably raining, she will get filthy and need a bath. Back home to wash the dog, mud everywhere. The slow cookers cold because I’ve forgotten to turn it on and the blankets wet from the dog refusing to have her fur dried.

Roast dinners once again 🙌🎉😄

MarthaLovesLaughing · 28/07/2026 19:38

Cannot wait for the first frost 😍

BlackCat14 · 28/07/2026 19:40

Me, I’m here! 🍂 🍂 🍂

I love it. Pumpkin picking, leaves falling, apple cider candles, darker nights, chunky scarves… it’s just gorgeous.

Im already so excited for that moment late Sept/early Oct when you feel that real chill in the air in the morning for the first time!

HoppityBun · 28/07/2026 19:40

Rain! (please)
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.
Drinking a mug of tea to warm up.
Electric blanket.
Fresh apples
Pretending that the climate crisis is a false alarm

Omg thanks! I've discovered they sell them in Tesco so I've ordered some.

NoNameIdeas · 28/07/2026 19:51

My most favourite time of year! Everything about autumn is just the best…can’t wait! Especially after such a hot summer, whilst it’s lovely, it’s just not for me! Bring in crunchy leaves, cosy jumpers, boots and everything else autumn! 🍂

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 28/07/2026 19:51

I love from September onwards, kids back to school, change in the weather, leaves turning colour, like the said slow cooker out and coming home to lovely smells, fire on, candles lit, lovely baths with a book, sitting outside with a coffee and a blanket.
I will admit that I also love the other seasons as well though, but none as much as autumn.
ps I may already have bought Gilmore Girls bits and put them away and am seeing what candles I have left from last year!

Morepositivemum · 28/07/2026 19:55

I’m here too!! Looking forward to all the cosy reads, the closing of the curtains, the fire on, the crunching of the leaves- and yes The Gilmore Girls!!!

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 28/07/2026 20:14

I’ve never seen the Gilmore Girls - is it perpetually autumn in the series? It always comes up on these autumn or cosy lists!

🍂🍁 Signing in!
Ready for crunchy leaves, conker hunting, hot chocolate, spicy pumpkin soup, blackberry and apple pies and crumbles and predictably Gilmore Girls. 🍁🍂
I’ve got a bunch of things saved for my Autumn wreath and some lovely crochet pumpkins ready 😁

Applepe · 28/07/2026 20:32

Autumn stuff is already in the shops!

Ipollita · 28/07/2026 21:18

I’m more than ready for autumn! I do enjoy summer as well but the heat this year has been bordering on unbearable.

Crisp morning walks in the woods
Rich autumn colours
Slowing down
Lovely coats
Beanies
Soups, stews and roast dinners
Rain
Rewatching Practical Magic and going to see the sequel in September
Lots and lots of candles
The feeling of the veil between this world and the other at thinnest

EllaPepper · 28/07/2026 21:34

someone needs to explain how Gilmore Girls fits in here. feel like i am massively missing on something Autumnal.

Roast dinners once again 🙌🎉😄

You stop having roast dinners? Don’t tell my family that - I’ve made it clear it’s a roast every Sunday regardless of the weather!

GG has a perpetually cosy, autumnal vibe - set in a beautiful New England village, lots of coffee and falling leaves.

I loved it as a teenager but decided I actually really disliked the protagonists when I tried to rewatch as an adult ha!

Tillow4ever · 28/07/2026 21:41

And I’m an autumn lover too! I love pulling my goat around me as I go for a walk in the early evening and it’s getting dark, seeing my breath as I go. The autumn colours are so wonderful.

That must be quite a flexible goat!😁
