The Christmas Bargain Thread No 2 - The one where it all went very fast

RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/09/2025 18:32

Posting on behalf of @Reastie as I'm guessing she's busy and the last thread was almost full.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

LostMyRubySlippers · 05/09/2025 18:42

Messed up my link then sorry!!

MrsMAFs · 05/09/2025 19:05

Pandora have some items half price today. I got my dd a silver bracelet with rose gold clasp for £35. They have the disney 100th anniversary bracelet down to £65 from £125. Lots of other items too.

IlovePond · 05/09/2025 19:55

Thanks for the new thread @RainbowZebraWarrior

Oh dear - I have Hauled again.

Sadly the joggers I bought DH last time were unavailable and I thought I would be pushing my luck getting a different pair as it was nothing short of a miracle that they fitted and look rather nice. Ditto socks!

I have bought a few stocking fillers, plus yoga blocks that I forgot last time, (as I appear to be going back to class, despite being absolutely terrible at yoga 😹😹😹)

ChristmasMad1 · 05/09/2025 19:59

Does anyone have the issue where you put items in the basket, but when you go to buy the magically disappear?

IlovePond · 05/09/2025 20:09

That happened to me, but when I clicked back a step, it reappeared!

Motnight · 05/09/2025 20:25

Thank you for the new thread.

So far I have managed to buy things for me 😂 from all the recommendations!

doctorboo · 05/09/2025 20:32

@Sasha07 My phone was being silly on the last thread so I don’t how many/what replies you got re: your son and decent length trousers but, my 14yo is 6’3”, has 34” inside leg and gets his trousers, actually lots of his clothes, from boohooman tall range.

nickdrakeslovechild · 05/09/2025 20:55

I think I need a velvitiser for my daughter. Can anyone remember what the best price was last year please?

There’s a new one out I think, so it might be cheaper this year if you want the old one

nickdrakeslovechild · 05/09/2025 20:59

Yes definitely the old one, she hates cold milky drinks. Fingers crossed there are some deals.

nickdrakeslovechild · 05/09/2025 21:11

Also, if anyone sees the Neom wellbeing bundle on offer again please shout up. I got it for £70 and love it. I know my SIL would like one but it's now back at full price.

fruitfly3 · 05/09/2025 21:31

@nickdrakeslovechild also holding out for this!

fishfingersandchipsagain · 05/09/2025 22:20

A little PSA reminder for Haul that you get another 10% off at £50, so if you add £50 full price to your basket you pay £15 including delivery.

Givealittlebit · 05/09/2025 22:39

Oh my gosh just come looking for you all and how have I missed a whole thread already?!

Ringing in the bargain season 🔔 - need to be proactive and plan well this year

Dontsayyouloveme · 05/09/2025 22:46

I went into Aldi today and got two waterproof cameras with enough film in for 10 automatic prints each, for £1.99 each. Im giving them as stocking fillers for my 14 year old son who will love using those! You can buy more film for them it says on the box

Notlongnow1 · 05/09/2025 23:09

Work a look in Aldi for end of summer bargains. These were all 99p this evening...

sillygoof · 05/09/2025 23:10

Thanks for the Good Housekeeping subscription renewal!! Bargain at £24 for a year but then a £10 m&s card and I’ve gone through Quidco for maybe another £6.40 back 🤞🏻

DemonsRocks · 05/09/2025 23:13

This might be a daft question but if I wanted to buy a silver bracelet for a Christmas gift, how do I stop it from tarnishing? Do I just keep it in the packaging and not take it out to look at or the air will get to it? There are some bargains online but we are still over 3 months away.

Confusedmeanderings · 05/09/2025 23:16

Thanks for the new thread @RainbowZebraWarrior !

VivaForever81 · 05/09/2025 23:18

commenting so I can come back later, Ho Ho Ho.

Ughy · 05/09/2025 23:28

Not at all bargainous but the Christmas event bookings at John Lewis stores are now open to My John Lewis members via the app (click on rewards). I took 3yo DD for afternoon tea and story time with Father Christmas last year and it was very special! £30 for the two of us, including a hot drink and gingerbread each, plus a good quality present. It’s Lego themed this year.

We’ve also booked to visit the John Lewis Father Christmas Grotto (different location) which is eye-wateringly priced (£66 for a family of 4) but hoping it’ll be of a similarly high quality!
