The Christmas Bargain Thread No 2 - The one where it all went very fast

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/09/2025 18:32

Posting on behalf of @Reastie as I'm guessing she's busy and the last thread was almost full.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

If anyone is ordering from Cult Beauty try the code CBSALI20 for 20% off.

PinballWizened · 07/09/2025 08:14

I missed out on the Dreamland throw bargains last year, so it was still on my ideas list for DH this year.

just found the black one is £29.99 down from £70 on their own website

I have a free delivery code for smiggle valid until tomorrow as they screwed up an order of mine. Not sure if it's linked to my email or not but worth a try if you're ordering anyway. K7NBAWIZ.

Thank you so much, I used it and saved about £20 plus the £5 delivery on their final sale bits ☺️

notenoughtogoround · 07/09/2025 08:38

Just used the boxtails and dreamland links, thank you! Keeping my eye out for bargains to contribute!

IggyAce · 07/09/2025 08:45

Good morning, thread 2 it appears I’m late to the party. Not given much thought to presents so I’m hoping you lot will tell me what I need (bit like a home bargains trip).

Thanks for this. The only one available in my local JL is the tea party - has anyone been? Recommend? Thank you

Just did a second haul order. I have issues 🙈

Don't worry I did one when it was 70%, as a test, and 3 orders now !

On to thread 2 😳 it’s flying

JustStopItNora · 07/09/2025 08:57

Just completed my second order Grin
Two really nice notebooks (for the notebook-loving members of the family) for 3-ish pounds each. Great stocking fillers.

Wolfcub · 07/09/2025 09:07

boxtails is also 2% cashback on TCB. Don’t know if it will track but worth a go

ApiratesaysYarrr · 07/09/2025 09:15

Has anyone tried Boxtails, I was interested until the point I saw Trustpilot reviews which are awful.

Ohladear · 07/09/2025 09:20

QueenOfWeeds · 06/09/2025 19:26

@Ughy they we’re running nearly an hour late due to “technical issues” (I assume printing photos, because there was no tech involved anywhere else), so we were asked to go and kill time and come back later. In John Lewis. On Oxford Street. On a Sunday in December. With a toddler. Obviously not their fault per se, but it wasn’t a nice start. Then the elf trail felt v v budget (DD was obviously too little to really benefit from it). Father Christmas himself was fabulous and made me cry (in a good way), and the present was lovely. But the overall experience was pretty pants to be honest, and felt quite budget. Like I say, hopefully it’s improved, but I would have been irritated if we were on a tight budget and then been told we had to buy their rubbish photo or have no photo at all.

That sounds awful! Did you complain? The closest JL to us has the Tea Party option which sounds much better as an experience and in value, we have been every year since 2022. Everyone gets to sit down and have a drink and snack with colouring then FC comes out and reads a story. After the story everyone goes up in turn, little chat with FC and the “elves” will take photos on parents’ phones etc or you can take your own if you don’t want to be in it yourself.

I think it’s not as overwhelming for children either as they have warmed up to FC by watching him read the story and seeing other children going up and getting a present. My DD never liked the straight into the grotto set ups until she was about 5.

PearlsPearl · 07/09/2025 11:07

How do we get the 50% off crocs I saw mentioned please?

beetr00 · 07/09/2025 11:17

running2 · Yesterday 22:30
50% off everything on the Crocs site if you have access to Discounts for Teachers. It should only be sale but everything is going 50% off with the code you're given.

Isittooearlyforchristmasmusic · Today 00:42
Amazing 👏 thank you. I used my discounts for carers account, it's a partner site of discounts for teachers. I'm assuming all are running the same promotion
