One more sleep until December!! Get your Christmas duvets, stollen and mulled wine and the ready as the festive season is well and truly here!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

The following links compare price products including postage

Oh my goodness, the Brio advent calendar at JL is adorable and reduced to £20.99. (I so miss the days of Brio at our house 😿)

It won’t let me link for some reason, but it’s in stock atm.

Can I please ask if anyone has seen any digital cameras suitable for an early teen? Looking at about £50. Wondered about this one but not sure if too babyish (lots of the reviews reference this as a kids camera). Mega thanks if you can help!

Also looking for one. So many of them have bad reviews! Such a minefield!

beetr00 · 30/11/2024 19:28

@IlovePond

this?

Tequilamockinbird · 30/11/2024 19:28

Does anyone know who Piglets Pantry use to deliver? Tempted to order for ILs but if it's Evri, it'll no doubt be a box of crumbs by the time it gets to themConfused.

IlovePond · 30/11/2024 19:29

Yes, thanks @beetr00 - it’s so lovely!

fishfingersandchipsagain · 30/11/2024 19:40

I like days like today.

Picked up my bargain palm pals from Claire’s.

Used my £5 off birthday voucher in Hotel Chocolat to get some stocking fillers.

Used my £5 birthday voucher in Hobbycraft to get another stocking filler.

Used my Waterstones points to get a book for DS.

Used my nectar points to pick up two mini Christmas trees (£3) each for Sainsburys for the kids rooms.

Used my £5 voucher in Decathlon for another freeby.

Then scored a very nice large white chocolate and raspberry cake reduced to £1.50 in Asda!

It’s handy having a “birthday” in November!

lucysmam · 30/11/2024 19:49

Does anyone have a discount/referral code for Sheepland please before I hit "go" on some slippers? 😊

sillygoof · 30/11/2024 20:19

Thanks thanks thanks to the PP who mentioned the 45% cashback on Superdrug - bought three fragrance giftsets that I was planning to buy, and if the cashback tracks (which is should) it might be my bargain of the year x

I want to say it’s not Evri. Maybe DPD. I can’t remember, sorry.
They do package it up really well though. Everything has its own custom made space, so for example the sausage rolls have a section. The cakes are packed in tight in their department. They really puy a lot of thought into their packaging.

Urban outfitters have some I can’t link as it keeps opening in my app. My teens just use our old ones though, so cex might come up trumps?

Orangeoranges42 · 30/11/2024 21:11

I’m not sure why this is so difficult but has anyone spotted a matching adult/child beanie hats? Thanks in advance

It's for this reason that I've always bought American candy from Sainsbury's (find it in the world food aisles or order online as I do) or also, corner shops often stock lots of it. Our Premier corner shop does loads. I was able to buy enough over the space of a couple of weeks last year to make a decent looking hamper for DD.

Thank you, it was something in particular I was looking for, that doesn’t seem to be in stores but I don’t want to risk wasting money on random sites!

Yes, I’ve scored big cash back from Superdrug today too. Just told my husband about it and he’s now scrolling Superdrug excitedly to make the most of it too. And he’s referring all his friends to Topcashback too…I’ve converted him into one of us 🤣🤣🤣

Cupofteaandbiscuits · 30/11/2024 21:52

DD has asked for this. I feel like it’s a lot of rubbish but she hasn’t asked for a lot else! She’s nearly 10.
Is this half decent?! She is guinea pig obsessed!

Superdrug 45% cashback is amazing! I thought it was an error initially and supposed to be 4 or 5%. I actually went shopping IRL today and went into Superdrug to buy the aftershaves I wanted. As luck would have it, they had sold out of one I wanted so I bought online instead!

Please do mention what you're looking for. I'd be happy to send it on to you if I can find it.

We returned this as it didn't work properly (guinea pigs got stuck in the ceiling!).

Smyths were excellent but weren't surprised. Apparently it was the most returned toy that season.

Even if it does work properly it's a bit of a one-trick pony/piggy.

NWnature · 30/11/2024 22:16

@Cupofteaandbiscuits I don’t know about that toy but I bought one of these stuffed toy guinea pigs last year as a stocking filler and it’s honestly adorable and so soft

Alpaca Guinea Pig

Our lovely fluffy guinea pigs can easily be mistaken for the real thing!  Wonderfully soft and fluffy, each of our little guinea pigs are handmade and are therefore unique.

Does anyone know for the Superdrug tcb how soon it pays out and does it include everything on the site?

Just worried about making a big purchase and it not tracking

TryingToHelpBut · 30/11/2024 22:19

I'm nervous to buy the aftershave DNephew would love. At £25 it's in budget but £50 is way too much. Anyone's tcb tracked already?

Fancyateapottea · 30/11/2024 22:21

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but Bigwicks have 20% off Christmas jellycats and 10% off all the others.

They have the duck jellycat that a previous poster was looking for too, sorry can’t find who to link.
