One more sleep until December!! Get your Christmas duvets, stollen and mulled wine and the ready as the festive season is well and truly here!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

Any ideas for a couples gift, around £30-40. Feel like we have done the usual to death, nice chocs and wine etc.

We received this last year, and it’s been brilliant

They have the duck jellycat that a previous poster was looking for too, sorry can’t find who to link.

it was @cymrumam but sadly it's oos @Fancyateapottea

JamJarBinx · 30/11/2024 22:33

Does anyone know if I sign up to glossybox and use the 1st box discount do I have to keep the subscription for a year? It says 12 months but is that enforceable? Thanks

Dropthepilots · 30/11/2024 22:35

@TryingToHelpBut I ordered from Superdrug via topcashback at 3.30pm and tracking email came through about 6pm. I allow 3 to 6 months to actually pay out but occasionally it's quicker.

TryingToHelpBut · 30/11/2024 22:37

@Dropthepilots thanks, yes I've had my ups and downs with tcb over the years - thought if it tracked ok then it's worth a punt, nephew has been through a lot this year.

NotMeekNotObedient · 30/11/2024 22:39

Thanks for the garden kneeler reccomendation! Much appreciated. That's my Dad sorted. Coopers is local to me too, plus 12.5% Topcashback 🤞.

TryingToHelpBut · 30/11/2024 22:19

I'm nervous to buy the aftershave DNephew would love. At £25 it's in budget but £50 is way too much. Anyone's tcb tracked already?

Just for info, if you’re working to a budget - I think the cashback is calculated on the price without VAT, so you’d be getting cashback on £40, not £50. I reckon the cashback would be £18? Making the £50 item £32 after cashback.

Someone asked about how long they take to pay out - I just checked my purchase from last year’s Superdrug big Black Friday deal and it paid out at the end of February.

DD has asked for this. I feel like it’s a lot of rubbish but she hasn’t asked for a lot else! She’s nearly 10.
Is this half decent?! She is guinea pig obsessed!

My daughter got it last year and she still loves it, she is 9.

Stelmosfire1 · 30/11/2024 22:41

I appear to have 37.5% cash back from Superdrug 🤔

Is it because of the VAT? The cashback is calculated on the pre-VAT price, so you’re getting 45% cashback on 80% of the price?

Yes just checked the t&c and that’s why. Still a great amount back on aftershave already reduced so I’m happy with it

I know you said she's guinea pig obsessed, so this might not cut it, but there's a much cheaper mini version of this toy that have bunnies and mice instead - £13 - £15, as opposed to £60+.

IlovePond · 30/11/2024 22:54

@JamJarBinx - I wouldn’t touch GB with a barge pole. I meant to order just one box but inadvertently clicked auto renew. There is no facility for cancelling onsite and they are ignoring my requests via email. I don’t know where to go next to get a resolution. The stuff they sent was awful too.

nobodygoes · 30/11/2024 22:55

@JamJarBinx I cancelled my year long subscription a few weeks ago and I still had 2/3 months to go, they asked me why and I just told them my daughter has developed a skin condition and can't use the products anymore (true) they cancelled it right away with no issue.

Givealittlebit · 30/11/2024 23:14

Gutted that Superdrug didn't have the perfume I was after, would have been an amazing deal with the cashback!

hugsandpugs · 30/11/2024 23:24

30% off trespass with the code BLACKF30

works on sale items & I think it’s free delivery over £20

Givealittlebit · 30/11/2024 23:24

Oops just ordered a more expensive perfume instead...as a gift for me 🤦🏻‍♀️

Fluffbrush · 01/12/2024 01:19

sorry to ask because I know it’s mentioned lots, bit how do you get an Argos code? My son is 18, has asked for pants. , a tshirt, slippers and a Hugo boss watch! I’ve already got him stuff, but not the watch! How do I get an Argos code? Thanks

MamaK19 · 01/12/2024 05:02

Looks like Superdrug TCB is back down to 4.25% gutted as I have one person left to buy for, a particularly fussy uncle and was planning on getting some nice smellies for him to make up a hamper 🫣😩

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 01/12/2024 06:21

JL advent on the app. Free chocolates on mine today, don’t forget to check if you will be near a store.

Digisquidgy · 01/12/2024 06:27

PlanBea · 30/11/2024 18:55

Had anyone had a case when their Quidco has taken a long time to track? Around lunchtime I opted in to the £20 on £80 spend on Shark Clean and bought a £200 mop - currently neither the cashback or bonus are showing. It usually tracks pretty quickly for me 🤔

Me. I’ve had to raise a claim for 3 purchases this week. It’s a pain. QVC, Laithwaites and a boots all haven’t tracked and all came with a Quidco bonus.

Elpheba · 01/12/2024 06:54

Same for me on JL- it says you get them from the customer service desk (which is always a bun fight at our local store on a weekend) and you’ve got until 3rd dec to claim. Next surprise is revealed on the 4th. Wonder if everyone has the same 🤔

MrsWinterby · 01/12/2024 07:07

I have a 20% off code for full-price items at the Isle of Skye Candle Company if anyone is interested Smile

Justkeepsmilingx · 01/12/2024 07:14

imnottoofussed · 30/11/2024 22:18

Does anyone know for the Superdrug tcb how soon it pays out and does it include everything on the site?

Just worried about making a big purchase and it not tracking

@TryingToHelpBut @imnottoofussed I was the same. I needed two so did one and waited for it to track before doing the other one. Mine says 13 weeks until payout.
