Thread 10 - the one with a rubber dick each

1000 replies

Reastie · 09/11/2024 06:18

Thanks @CalliopePlantain for the title. Lord of the Rings rubber dick anyone?! Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Thank you @Muddyandwet for your code I've just ordered a little tree for us as we are away in our van for Christmas so this will be perfect

mumsm · 09/11/2024 09:30

Loving the title although I'm not sure how PIL will take to a rubber dick 🤣

If anyone is looking for a nice suprise for a man in their life, I've just ordered this. Gorgeous luxury brand. At £33, this is a good £20 cheaper than I can find it anywhere else. Free delivered too and dispatched really quickly. I'm chuffed as it feels like a really premium suprise for a very reasonable price. It's from Escentual

This is back up to £66. Shame as these small sizes would be ideal for my husband who travels a lot.

Jaques London have 20% off for the next 48 hours with WOW20.
Some lovely wooden toys and games.

HopefulBeliever · 09/11/2024 09:36

Thank you whoever recommended the JL gin crackers on a previous post. Picked mine up yesterday and they are much bigger than I expected and look lovely. Also picked up my bargain Olaplex thanks to the £15 off personal care voucher.

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 09/11/2024 09:36

@MsSheldonCooper Holland and Barrett had a Tea one for under £15 instor the other day. I want to say Pukka but don’t quote me - as the username says, I drink coffee.

Montanna15 · 09/11/2024 09:39

Does anyone know how to get some discount from halfords ? Need to buy a very expensive bike for christmas for DS. Black Friday? Is it certain items or over all store discount ?

Itsanadventure · 09/11/2024 09:41

If anyone could pm me an Argos code I’d be really grateful. It’s just for a £50 spend though but I could always add more I guess 😆

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 09/11/2024 09:41

Between the 20% off fragrance and the £15 JL voucher I just got Chanel Blu 50ml for £45.

Webbb · 09/11/2024 09:43

@Scout2016 The John Lewis sewing machines are brilliant. I got one as a complete beginner and it's done me so well. A few YouTube videos and I was away and now much more advanced and it's still great. 100% recommend. And they're cute!

I've not been paying enough attention, would the hismile toothpastes be a good little extra for a 15 year old girl?

DangerousMouse · 09/11/2024 10:10

Are there any Valentte codes about at the moment please? I can't find any...

LittleMousewithcloggson · 09/11/2024 10:10

Look fantastic has 25% off lots of beauty items plus a free Elemis gift if you spend over £70

paintyhands · 09/11/2024 10:15

Has anyone spotted a good deal on Ugg ultra mini boots? Like most things on DD’s wish list, there are very few discounts on these! I think the best I’ve found is 10% introductory discount on the Ugg website.

Yes I'd definitely say so

Great stocking filler.

They are proper fluoride toothpastes but with non-mint flavours, and in a more cosmetics-looking container. All over TicToc too and popular with teens.

They retail for about £9 each. Boots currently have them at £4.50 but HB £1.99. HB flavours are coconut whip, peach tea, red velvet cake.

If You are looking for other things, they also have a set of 80 Posca-like pens for £7.99.

My 15yr old hates mint toothpaste, so I was going to try the HiSmile for her. The Home Bargains ones are fantastic prices, but I'm not sure she'd like any of those either.

ProbablyOnlySellOne · 09/11/2024 10:27

How do you all get the Notino website to work? I have tried several times on different browsers (and different days) but it just won't load properly. Any tips would be gratefully received.

Dinosweetpea · 09/11/2024 10:28

Please can anyone let me me known if they spot any more bargain instant camera offers?
I went to buy the one recommended on here at half price this morning and the 50% offer has gone 😭😭

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 09/11/2024 10:34

@Montanna15 TCB have Halfords in their TopGiftCards, currently on 4.5% cashback, for use in-store or online. You can also get a bit extra if you use TCB for Halfords online.

I was in a large Tesco yesterday and noticed their stand of gift cards had 10% off too, but can't remember which brands were on there, but worth checking if you have one nearby.

Thank you. It’s for my son and he already likes B&B so I wasn’t sure whether to get him this because he likes it or get him something else new! This helps though - thank you!

I'm a known tea snob person, so I get a lot of tea presents and they never live up to Bird and Blend and they end up in the staff room at work for public use (teacher).
I'd much rather one little tin of B&B to massive selection boxes of tea that I do get...if your son already has a taste for it, I fear it's too late for him too!
You do get two tea bags a day in the advent calendar so it would do for two people!

I’m the same. I’m stalking Black Friday deals for an offer on their website

Try the app. There's a discount for using the app too.

Pretty much all the Amazon ones are the same as the Aliexpress ones if you don't mind using it and it taking 10 days or so to arrive.
