Are Evri trying to ruin Christmas

Slightly OTT (and lighthearted) but I wish online retailers would stop using this company. I have seven orders with various companies and all the deliveries are delayed. Some over two weeks late so likely I’m going to have my order cancelled.

Why why why are they still in business? Where do the missing packages go?

I just checked my parcel in EVRi limbo and the lying bastards have now changed it from 'waiting at the depo' to 'delivered on Nov 29th'... it bloody wasn't.

Impressive they could somehow deliver it on the November 29th (the day they recieved it) when it was still tacking as at the overstocked depo yesterday.

I would assume this mean EVRi has successfully invented a time machine but if that was indead the case then surely my ass would be being cradle by my awesome new leggings that I ordered right now and yet alas they are not.

More than likely they have just stolen or ditched my package elsewhere and now I need to figure out a refund, luckily I had already message the company to say that it hadn't arrived (it was next day delivery on the 28th) and they also checked the tracking just 2 days ago and saw it was at the depo so they should know Im not lying and that EVRi is.

This seems to be the new trick of saying it was delivered when they've lost or stolen it. Same thing happened to me.

wejammin · 10/12/2022 10:06

I did a £70 order at H&M on 28th November and it's still at the Evri depot. It includes 3 Christmas jumpers for the kids to wear at school on Thursday, and a top for my Christmas party on Friday. H&M have said I have to wait 30 days for a refund, so I'm going to have to buy it all again with money I don't really have. I can go to the charity shop for me, but 2 of the kids are autistic and if I don't get what they chose they will be very upset. FFS.

Helenloveslee4eva · 10/12/2022 13:43

They did an excellently stupid trick a couple years ago.
delivered a hamper to my daughter in Nottingham. Tracking photo on thr tracker - all good .
however , separate item ordered to my son in Birmingham tracked as delivered and Nottingham front door photo uploaded too 😂😭😱🤣

hendi · 10/12/2022 16:40

@Jas5mum do you understand the point of a strike? It's meant to be disruptive so they get listened to. There's not much point doing it at any other time, no one would be bothered if it happened after Christmas and they outcome could be very different.

milawops · 10/12/2022 16:57

Had a delivery from them yesterday while we were out. Left in safe place in the grey bin according to the note. That's our rubbish bin So my mum's Christmas present was left on top of a bag containing shitty nappies. Cheers for that. Our delivery guy smokes in his van as well so everything he delivers stinks of fags.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 10/12/2022 17:02

1 of my 2 Royal Mail parcels arrived today. It was supposed to be signed for, but wasn’t. Companies definitely aren’t getting the services that they’re buying and that we’re paying for.

1 more to go, I need it by January 7th and Royal Mail have had it since 3rd December. Let’s see!!

Christmasbaubleswithtinselon · 10/12/2022 17:09

great to hear some positive delivery stories.

I went into town to see if I could replace some of the items I’d ordered. I tried White Stuff for a lovely jumper my mum wanted. The assistant was very helpful when I showed her my invoice and kindly told me that I’d actually ordered from Weird Fish and not WS. I gave up and went for a mulled wine instead.

My Evri lady is fantastic but she can only deliver what she gets given. My parcel from Ted Baker has been stuck in “delayed” status for ten days now.

no idea where it is.

Freetodowhatiwant · 10/12/2022 17:37

I too am waiting on a parcel from Evri. Trainers that cost £155! I ordered them almost 4 weeks ago, they went out for delivery and then the delivery said it’s ‘delayed’. I have had to buy other shoes in that time and would really like that money refunded but the shop are saying I cannot refund then until I have received them. It’s a nightmare.

snowmanshoes · 10/12/2022 17:40

Our local Evri delivery drivers are fab but it’s just not getting to them….

Ohjustboreoff · 10/12/2022 17:49

Well of the only two packages I've ordered. One from Debenhams with family PJ's, which my DD specifically asked for, and a cashmere snood for my DM from H&M both use Evri both ordered on 24th November and both have not turned up but say they've been delivered on 25th November which is not true!!!

Ohjustboreoff · 10/12/2022 17:50

I see a pattern!

prettybird · 10/12/2022 17:58

Pity the poor retailers that use them (but there again, they choose to Confused) Hmm

I had to complain to Woolovers that a parcel that Evri had had since the 27th was saying "sorry, there's been a delay" and I suspected that it had been lost. It had never even got as far as being "out for delivery". Shock

They posted a replacement order - said that they'd posted it Royal Mail but it was actually sent via Evri again (to be fair, there was a Royal Mail strike) and I got it the following day ShockConfused

Heaven knows what happened with my original order Sad

So much of it seems to depend on the quality of your local driver - and out one seems to be good at the moment Wink - but a lot seems to get lost within the Evri distribution Hmm

BakewellGin1 · 10/12/2022 18:11

Evri to my house is great...
Evri to my parents 5 miles away is shocking...

I have one more Evri to arrive to parents house fingers crossed and one from DPD which are usually more reliable.

Nothing else is getting ordered - unless via Amazon as they always deliver next day here as promised

IrmaGord · 10/12/2022 18:19

unless via Amazon as they always deliver next day here as promised

I ordered something Prime delivery last week. It originally said it would be next day. When I checked it said it would be here by yesterday. And also it was being delivered by Hermes UK. I've yet to receive it, unsurprisingly.

Can't even rely on sodding Amazon not to use them now.

Christmasbaubleswithtinselon · 13/12/2022 10:39

Update: 5 of the parcels have been reported as missing…

Aarghh, WTF are Evri doing?

I still have one missing from 3 weeks ago. The retailer are ignoring emails and there's no way to phone them 😡

Kanaloa · 13/12/2022 11:33

@chocolateasaltyballs22

Not Sephora, is it? I’m having the exact same experience with them.

Sidking · 13/12/2022 11:34

Out local Evri driver is fab, he also does the yodel drops.

Royal mail aren't worth using at the moment, I was waiting on a work parcel and called them after it had been a while and they said it had been sent rm48 so not a priority, it arrived a week later and the label clearly said rm24 so it was supposed to be prioritised even on strike days.

DPD/Amazon are my favourite couriers for reliability and tracking ability

Sidking · 13/12/2022 11:35

Oh I ment to add make sure you check in & behind bins, behind gates etc. My mum had the 'theres a delay on your parcel' messages on an item coming via Evri, it had been going on 2-3 weeks with no changes to the status. She found it the other day down behind the bins, rather mucky so had been down there a while!

parsniiips · 13/12/2022 11:49

It's an absolute shit show.

What I can't understand is how Amazon always deliver things next day without fail (sometimes even same day!) or on the day agreed at checkout.

Yet other companies seem to drive parcels around the country aimlessly and can take weeks.

I point blank refuse to buy anything sent Royal Mail and will only buy things where the courier offers next day or chosen day for delivery. I can't be arsed with the stress and frustration of things going missing or taking ridiculous amounts of time to be delivered.

User3758965 · 13/12/2022 11:56

Amazon is all in house so they are in control from warehouse to doorstep, that is how they do it. When they struggled a bit in covid they offered £1 discounts on Prime delivery orders for a later delivery date.

No, it's a rather boring rain jacket from Regatta.

Oh. Clearly there’s two absolutely shit companies out there ignoring customers. If Sephora is to judge by, you won’t need the jacket by the time it arrives, because it will be the height of summer.

chocolateasaltyballs22 · 13/12/2022 13:05

@Kanaloa I'd be happy with a refund at this stage, or at the very least a response from them!
