Are Evri trying to ruin Christmas

Slightly OTT (and lighthearted) but I wish online retailers would stop using this company. I have seven orders with various companies and all the deliveries are delayed. Some over two weeks late so likely I’m going to have my order cancelled.

Why why why are they still in business? Where do the missing packages go?

@Uninterestedfamily That is awful, just why would someone take the job if they did not want to do it.

My Evri delivery person is awesome, if the parcel notification changes to with courier, I breath a sigh of relief. However the depot that my goods go through is where my parcels disappear.

Yodel is also hit and miss, every parcel I recieve has one of the corners ripped as though someone has had a peek beforehand.

Our Royal Mail postie is brilliant. We get so many parcels and he always leaves them in a safe place where they can't get rained on. He's lovely with our dogs, is always cheerful. Thank you Keith, you are definitely getting a Christmas present from us this year 🎄 🎁

Keith won't be leaving them anywhere sunshine !.

This has confirmed what I thought. A yodel employee's child has MY child's microscooter for Christmas.

People saying we should support the highstreet and not use online shops obvs haven't tried to buy maternity wear or clothes over a size 10 etc etc. anything non standard is only sold online a lot of the time now.

My evri courier is absolutely fantastic! Yodel in my area is terrible. I'm currently trying to track down a mobile phone that should have been delivered on Monday!

justasking111 · 09/12/2022 13:41

I'd stop buying online now anything else you need hit the shops

iknowhimsowell · 09/12/2022 13:44

Our Evri courier is amazing, she posted on our local Facebook group apologising that she was ill. Can't fault them at all.

Fleur405 · 09/12/2022 13:47

I hate Evri. Sooo much.

icelandicspa · 09/12/2022 13:48

I ordered something on Boden on Wednesday and it arrived a couple of hours ago.

And they use Evri

Evri is fine around here. I leap for joy when it’s evri and not Yodel.

Same here. Though Evri have had my parcel in their despatch centre for a week now, first time there’s been a problem though.

LouisCatorze · 09/12/2022 13:59

Always had excellent service from Evri. We have a very reliable guy who delivers our orders, and he's super personable too.

PearlclutchersInc · 09/12/2022 14:02

It galls me to say that recently they've been pretty good recently.

My ire is saved for fecking Parcel force and DpD whose delivery guys do a version of knock and dash without actually delivering. They would get a gold if it were an Olympic sport.

BamBamBilla · 09/12/2022 14:03

I don't seem to have problems with Evri/Yodel. Royal Mail are only 1 day delayed but I know those dates in advance. Its Amazon who I'm having problems with. Prime next day delivery doesn't seem to exist anymore and its 4 days later.

Ilovetocrochet · 09/12/2022 14:23

AriettyHomily · 09/12/2022 10:46

Ours used to be shit, the woman on our round now is great. I think it really is luck of the draw.

RM on the other hand...

Totally agree, my Evri delivery guy is brilliant, he runs up, rings the bell, leaves parcel by the door then goes back to his van where he waits until I open the door to give me a cheery wave!

Royal Mail on the other hand are so unreliable, I know they are having strike days but I’ve been waiting for a parcel for over two weeks now. Tracking shows it is at the depot but there is no facility for seeing when it will actually be delivered. I’m giving it until next week before contacting the company I bought from.

Stevie77 · 09/12/2022 14:29

Well, they're definitely not helping themselves with their non-existent customer service! They held on to curtains I ordered from Dunelm for two weeks, way before the Christmas rush, and they only delivered once the retailer has chased them up.

We've had a parcel stuck in their 'there's a delay with your parcel' parallel universe for about two weeks now. It's DS's main present (a football kit) and I really really do hope it arrives. The retailer is chasing it so fingers crossed!

OldWivesTale · 09/12/2022 14:30

I've never had any issues with Evri and I seem to get a lot of parcels from them. Think it depends on the area.

tillyandmilly · 09/12/2022 14:47

Evri is rubbish - lost 3 parcels so far - disappeared into the ethos!

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 09/12/2022 15:17

Our Évri guy Eric is very pleasant . I think it is easier when they deliver to a house where there is nearly always someone at home, and they get to know you. DPD excellent too. The Postie is fine, but Parcelforce ( do they still exist?) are my personal bête noire . Yodel don’t seek to exist round here, praise be.

mam0918 · 09/12/2022 15:54

I also think a lot of people are misunderstanding... very few people are mad at the DRIVERS its a massive warehouse backlog meaning no one is getting packages from (it appears) the week either side of black friday.

I have nothing against the people driving for EVRi and making deliveries, Im sure they are doing their job fine (and may indead be great friendly people) but something went wrong way above them in the chain.

TheFormidableMrsC · 09/12/2022 16:13

We have a fantastic Evri delivery chap. He's very much loved and respected in the community. You definitely notice the difference in service if he's off or on holiday. He also does regular FB posts on our local page if there is a backlog or he's not working. DPD have always been super reliable here too. Ultimately it's down to what sort of delivery person you have I think.

Nagado · 09/12/2022 16:19

I also have the same Evri delivery guy everytime and I know he works long hours right now. He actually delivered an item last night at 8pm which was supposed to arrive by 3pm and he was really apologetic and explained they're really busy and he's working 15 hour days currently - I believe him. DH is friends with an Evri courier and we met her for dinner last week. She’s currently delivering double what she normally does and working well over her hours, so I think you’re right to believe him.

Our local Evri courier is fantastic and I’m always quite relieved when I see it’ll be her. We don’t live in the sort of area you’d leave parcels unattended so if DH has ever forgotten to change the delivery address to my mum’s a few streets away, and we’re at work, she’ll drop it down there because that’s where we normally have stuff delivered. Our DPD courier, on the other hand, does not understand the concept of postcodes.

earsup · 09/12/2022 16:20

sometimes slow but do turn up...yodl is worse...they slung my parcel over the garden gate to the side entrance....rarely look there as no need and saw the parcel....wet n soggy....but all ok !

Notforbeef · 09/12/2022 16:34

Use Evri a lot for ebay sales and never have a problem with them. Also irder a lot from next whonuse Evri and theyre great. Our local delivery guy is really good. There's good and bad everywhere like every company. Amazon Prime on the other hand, rarely deliver to the right house!

Moonmin79 · 09/12/2022 16:47

I'm having disputes with Evri at the moment, the bloke left my parcel on the doorstep in the pouring rain while he went and got a empty box to put in my letterbox for the safely delivered photo. My cctv got him doing that so I complained as my parcel was soaked. So the next parcel he held onto for 5 days, which was clearly marked that it was from Disney store, he took photos of my house for delivery attempted for a few days without getting out the van, caught on cctv also. When he did deliver it, I opened it and he had urinated inside it!!!!! 😡😡😡 it was a soft toy for a little girl as well 😡😡 complained about that, he has now stollen a £90 superdry jacket, which he refused to deliver as well, and then suddenly came back as being returned to sender but its not got back to superdry for that's for sure!!! !! I’ve driven round my estate looking for him, not found him yet

Lesserspottedmama · 09/12/2022 16:51

Dsis and I worked out that between us we have lost 11(!) parcels to Evri this year. None of them ever to be seen again, no explanation, no recompense. Mostly through Vinted. Robbing b*stards.
