Pockyballs! My 9yo DD AND 6yo DS have had them attached to their waists all day. DS3 (also 6) not interested in the slightest 🤣

Fifipop185 · 26/12/2021 00:02

DS has recently taken up playing the guitar and has a talent for it. I had a plectrum engraved with his name saying "you rock, love mum" and he cried with happiness. He's autistic and doesn't often show emotion. I'm going to remember that moment for a long time.

DD8: Desktop windy pencil sharpener-old Skool type. She’s enchanted with it and all the pencils in the house are now only 3” long but razor sharp.

My eldest was this dinosaur coded diary thing my nan got him, he spotted it in the garden centre last month and finally got it today. Absolutely obsessed with it. And this Tobi smart watch we got him, it was something he specifically asked for and I told him it was out of stock so he wasn’t expecting it. Was chuffed when he opened it!

My youngest (17 months) absolutely refused to open a single present. Would just shake his head and walk away. Bit shocked in all honesty, he’s normally quite destructive and I thought tearing up wrapping paper would be right up his street lol. He quite liked the hoover we got him though once it was all built, he also enjoyed tipping the tub of wooden blocks we got him every where and then picking them up again.

DD (14 today!) Got a multipack of funkopops and DH bought her a mini nerf gun.
They lined up the funkopops and shot at them.
Far preferred to the more expensive gifts!

Ps5 and games for my 10 yr old. I've been winding him up telling him not to get his hopes up. They are like rocking horse pop but then I managed to bag one on Amazon in October. He pushed me over he hugged me so hard. He's not touched it xmas day but has been promised all of Boxing Day to set up and play.

AppleCrumbleForBreakfast · 26/12/2021 00:41

Flint and steel fire starter for an 11 year old. Massive hit.

TheAnswerIsCake · 26/12/2021 08:34

The things I expected to be big hits were for our 10 year old, but his genuine gratitude has been so lovely to see.

Favourites were the vintage Hornby Flying Scotsman (an eBay bargain and the only thing he really asked for), a couple of (cheap version) football kits and (another) football plus the phone he had no idea he was getting. He thought he had to wait at least another year, and actually cried with joy. He proceeded to film highlights of Christmas Day and take about 200 photos!

Nintendo switch (8)

Refurbished but looked new iPad (5) He has ASD and the iPad has been invaluable but his old one was ancient and wouldn't update past iOS 12.

Fireworksatforty · 26/12/2021 08:41

@moostermum

A flashy whizzing ball which was cheap from Amazon. I've been hit in the face twice and the dogs are shaking in the corner 🤦🏼‍♀️
Mine got these from my mum. They were wizzing and crashing round the kitchen as I was trying to serve up Xmas dinner. I was cursing my mum!
SquigglePigs · 26/12/2021 08:44

My three year old is so excited by the £2 kaleidescope that was in her stocking. Closely followed by the packs of stickers. So easily pleased at this age!

itwasntaparty · 26/12/2021 09:07

Dts 10 - fake Oostende from primary and perfect petzzz

Bunnycat101 · 26/12/2021 09:47

5yo lol dolls (which I hate with a passion but she loves) , 2yo a picnic basket set which I knew would be a bit as I’ve seen it at other friends houses and it’s always been popular.

We’ve got quite a few things like craft sets/books that they weren’t bothered about yesterday but will love doing later on.

Christmas1988 · 26/12/2021 10:39

Lego Mario and Luigi and Hexbug space have been the best gifts so far. DS1&2 love playing together so these gifts have been perfect for them!

CoastalWave · 26/12/2021 11:51

Daughter - AirPods and an instax camera

Son - lego, nerf gun

Camomila · 26/12/2021 12:10

DS1 - either the lego trainset (as expected) or the knight dressing up set from DM (unexpected hit)

DS2 (toddler) - new books and the fancy chocolate biscuits we bought for MIL.

StorminaBcup · 26/12/2021 12:31

By far, this love it or hate it little squidgy head, where you squeeze slime vomit from it’s mouth, then it sucks it back up again 🤣

This is brilliantly revolting - my two would love this as well! Grin

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 26/12/2021 12:46

The reversible octopus plushies haven’t left ds2&3’s sides since yesterday. Also the torch that ds2 got.
We have spent the last 24 hours buried under numerous Lego sets, they also go down well. Also the jigsaw puzzles were more appreciated then I thought they would be. Books have already been read, and ds1 and ds2 are just cracking out the ps4 and switch games they got.
But if I asked I’m sure ds1’s favourite present would be the 3000 vbucks he was given by his aunt. Ds2 would probably say all the Roblox giftcards as well. Simple boys

CandyCaneLane0 · 26/12/2021 12:50

Whizzy Dizzy, ds is autistic and loves spinning so spent most of yesterday on it. I was in two minds about buying it because of the price but I'm so glad I did

RussianSpy101 · 26/12/2021 13:48

@CandyCaneLane0 oh what’s this? My DS1 has autism too and constantly spins.

wonkylegs · 26/12/2021 13:51
