I simply couldn't find anything. He is impossible. :(

We get a joint membership of the local cinema each year - that's a bunch of date nights with a discount in the cafe bar. Something we both enjoy and do together throughout the year.

beenthereboughtthetshirt · 24/12/2021 02:49

Rubik's cube?

Myshitisreal · 24/12/2021 03:19

@peridito

cashmere scarf ?

framed photo/pic of something personal to him - place /person

He is very social, so will visit, talk on the phone - might be wrong but I think the echo dot can be linked to your phone contacts so you just ask it to phone whovever and then chat away ....

tho if he's like my partner he won't use it because he can't remember the name to use (Alexa) .

Not the point really but you can change Alexas name to something more memorable
GettingStuffed · 24/12/2021 06:25

Mine has coffee, books and a mug. He has his main present during the cricket season, club membership and train tickets.

Juniper68 · 24/12/2021 06:38

educatingrati my friend whittles and sells them. She made this witch and I bought it for another friend for Christmas.

Well that's it, no gift for DH
festivefuschias · 24/12/2021 07:02

Same here but he’s clear that he genuinely doesn’t want anything. He doesn’t like having ‘things’ for the sake of it. We’ve been together for a long time and in the past I would buy things that I thought he might like and use but he doesn’t appreciate any of it and he admits this. He buys what he wants. The DC choose something for him, often linked to his interests but he usually puts things away never to be seen again.
@TheDogsMother me too Grin. I sprayed the walls, my face, the floor etc…. Then realised I needed to shut my mouth before turning the flosser on - game changer!!
Yup, that’s the trick! Took me a while to work it out and also soaked my face and neck.

Flosssr in, close lips, turn on, floss, floss, floss as you lean over the sink and let the water dribble from your mouth, carefully!!

WouldBeGood · 24/12/2021 08:05

Sort of related ti the above, a festive blow job?

00100001 · 24/12/2021 08:27

@TheNoonBell

"I got my other half a reproduction WW2 german helmet. Something he has always wanted as he is into history."

…..a nazi helmet, then?"

Yes. What's your point? Doesn't make her DP a nazi sympathiser. Not every German soldier believed in the ideals, or killing Jews etc. A lot were conscripted and a lotm"volunteered".

German wehrmacht wasn't a one dimensional fighting force full of men wanting to kill Jews and take over the world...

Loyaultemelie · 24/12/2021 10:33

We decided DH and I aren't giving each other this year we don't have the money and we can do without to get things for others we aren't really feeling it this year anyway

Sweetener12 · 24/12/2021 11:23

Maybe some software that he'd find useful or entertaining? Doesn't have to be something that follows a subscription model like Adobe products, could be a one-time buy thing. There are simple photo editors like Photoworks or Luminar or maybe automatic video editors like Clipify or Wisecut. Or think of subscription boxes like book or alcohol subscriptions.

Yes, it's just part of his growing collection. He has a british, american and an actual real but slightly rusted russian one already.

As far as I know he has no desires on Poland and isn't vegitarian so not really showing any nazi sympathies but I will keep an eye on him in case he tries to start a popular car manufacturing company or something similar.

VinylCafe · 24/12/2021 14:19

@SleepingStandingUp

- Night vision binoculars that do HD video and photos for him and the candy thong for op

- 3D adult puzzles - ROKR has some great ones I thought you meant ADULT puzzles. To go with the night goggles and candy thong.

😂😂😂😂

I did wonder when I typed that!

NowEvenBetter · 24/12/2021 14:26

Trying to justify ‘not all nazis were bad’ or making actual ‘jokes’ about nazi fancy dress costumes is indefensible

NalPolishRemover · 24/12/2021 15:00

Yeah I think the Nazi helmet thing is v v strange & I studied history at university level so love it myself. I would definitely not be buying my dh that as a present for Christmas.

As for the OP - what does your dh talk about on a these calls / visits? Politics? Current affairs? Anything there that might spark an interest?

I have to admit I would find it impossible to spend my life with someone who has zero interests. My mother is like this - interested in nothing & never has been. Never had a hobby or any pursuits at all. She's also v 'sociable' but in her case this translates as loves to sit talking about friends / neighbours / family/ acquaintances etc

🙄

What's indefensible about saying German soldiers were conscripted and didn't all believe in the cause?

NotJustACigar · 24/12/2021 15:27

Also not a fan of the Nazis or by association their helmets...I googled them and some have swastikas on the side. Hope the DH in question isn't getting one of those at least! Well this thread has taken a dark turn, hasn't it?

fuzzywuzzywombat · 24/12/2021 17:23

To be honest. I hate gifts. Especially when I have what I want/ need already.
What I like is time , care and consideration, X
I'm not a saint but when those things are lacking, that's what you want

pinkpirlie · 24/12/2021 17:26

@supergloo
You're not alone.
He sounds like my dad! Only my dad has literally no interests and never talks to anyone except my mom.
I have never been able to get him a gift and when I have got him things, he has returned them or they have sat in a drawer.
I gave up years ago.

Ddot · 24/12/2021 17:27

I got him wheel cleaner (moterbike) a bobble hat, a vintage pen (papermate) and some smellies

Jinglemychristmasbells · 24/12/2021 17:33

We don't do adult gift so not had to worry about getting DH anything.

Dd did get him some aftershave, socks and a basketball from her and the boys.
I ordered him a new wallet from the kids too.

xmaswiththeinlaws · 24/12/2021 17:33

Mine is damaged bear impossible to buy for too but he has been eyeing up his brother and sister's very flashy coffee machines for the past few days. He has a coffee machine but I think he might now be hinting at an upgrade. However having bought himself a flashy motorbike in summer without mentioning how much it was costing, I don't feel that guilty that I've only got him a few bits and bobs.

Kentcoast · 24/12/2021 17:35

I got my hubby Posh aftershave great deals in Boots
Nice new pen he chose for his incessant cryptic crosswords,
Silly socks and jellybeans...he's buying me a lower face threadlift!

drawacircleroundit · 24/12/2021 17:36

I gift my organisational skills, and usually deliver a deposit-paid weekend away for the following summer, for two... Wink

MincePieandBaileys · 24/12/2021 17:36

My OH loves being out in the garden. If yours does choose some plants or bird feeders, or outdoorsy things.

Good luck
