DH makes eggy bread (aka gypsy toast) in a variety of shapes, with a choice of cinnamon sugar, maple syrup or smoked salmon. It is heavenly!

Deadcanary1 · 13/12/2021 18:07

Going out for my first Christmas breakfast tomorrow. Thinking of going for eggs Royale on sourdough crumpets and bucks fizz, but it's a big menu. Might change my mind!

guffaux · 13/12/2021 18:10

just had staffordshire oatcake (like a galette, or savoury english pancake but with oatflour) with smoked salmon and a poached egg, DP had his with smoked ham instead of salmon,- very nice, different to our usual holiday breakfasts, and sustained us up to 2pm

That sounds bloody delicious 😋

Nigella Christmas muffins, granola with yoghurt and fresh fruit, Buck's Fizz.

@Donteatpurplebroccoli

Banana and oat pancakes made either into snowmen shapes (free style!) or using cutter into reindeer shape. With luxury layered yoghurt and fruit yummy!!
Brilliant, I was going to do banana and oat pancakes as DD loves them but had not thought of using the Christmas shaped cutters Smile

How does anyone have room for breakfast and lunch??

And I'm no skinny Minnie either.

We have breakfast at 8 and lunch 2.30ish. Even with selection box picking I'm ready for another meal by then!

A veggie bacon barm & champagne with Oj! Nice and quick as I don't feel like we have enough time for much more. (We probably do but the morning feels rushed)

Because we eat breakfast at 7.30, once we've already been up for an hour (thanks, kids!) and the portions aren't exactly massive for us. We then go out for a walk (usually around the 4 mile mark), and then Christmas dinner is eaten at 2.30/3.

Crusty bacon rolls with brown sauce and buck fizz to wash it down !

TheNamelessGirl · 13/12/2021 18:36

Smoked trout, bellotta ham, saucisson sec, various cheeses, baguettes, pickles, pastries. And champagne.

tangyandsalty · 13/12/2021 18:46

I usually buy the ready to bake pain au chocolate/Danish pastries and have with Buck's Fizz.

DarlingCoffee · 13/12/2021 18:52

I’ve bought some of those frozen bags of pain au choc and pain au raisin to cook in the oven for our breakfast on Christmas Day with a nice mug of tea or coffee or OJ for the kids. Super easy.

AudTheDeepMinded · 13/12/2021 18:56

It varies, kids are a bit fussy and wouldn't do smoked salmon which I love. I usually have various croissants and pastries and make a Christmas loaf too. And of course everyone has pigged out on their sticking chocs too. Nice coffee for adults and fresh juices for the kids. I used to have Bucks Fizz but find now that it makes me have to lie on the sofa with a spinny head (light weight).

AudTheDeepMinded · 13/12/2021 18:56

*stocking

SagittariusDwarf · 13/12/2021 19:01

Bucks Fizz and lots of it!

Poppins17 · 13/12/2021 19:08

Croissants and Clementine fizz from M&S for me. Family will probably have bacon butties as we are eating late lunch out… I’ll probably also crack open my terrys chocolate Orange Xmas Smile

WWTBCD · 13/12/2021 19:19

Spaghetti, maple syrup, candy canes, maybe some m&ms. 👍

Chocolatepumpkin · 13/12/2021 19:24

guffaux salmon on an oatcake is making me feel uneasy 🤢, cheese and bacon every time 😂. We normally have pastries and pancakes although this year i am thinking bacon baps ☺️

tillytoodles1 · 13/12/2021 19:28

Crusty rolls with bacon and sausage, orange juice and coffee. My daughter and her husband have a Bucks Fizz.

bettertimesarecomingnow · 13/12/2021 19:39

Crepes with Nutella and banana
And some with berries and syrup

didireallysaythat · 13/12/2021 19:58

I'm guessing everyone has a lot of people around for breakfast? It's just the four of us, and I'm the only one who drinks so I can't really have a solo glass of bucks fizz.... I posted a thread for savoury suggestions (got some great ideas) but the rest of the house want toast or shreddies, so I'm having my usual Greek yoghurt which actually suits me nicely as it doesn't involve any cooking!

JudgeJ · 13/12/2021 20:09

Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon if wanted, croissants, pain au chocolat, bucks fizz, coffee.

PeskyYeti · 13/12/2021 20:10

Pancakes normally here, but I'm getting a waffle maker for Christmas so this year, waffles! With fruit. We don't eat again till big dinner at 3.
