It depends when we're eating the main meal. If it's early we have cinnamon buns and maybe a fruit salad.
If we're not eating until late we have cinnamon buns and pig in blanket rolls.

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, possibly mushrooms, toast.

ClaudiaJ1 · 13/12/2021 08:09

I really love seeing the rich variations of people's traditions on here. It's quite wonderful.

And making me hungry. Smile

Happy1982ish · 13/12/2021 08:16

evilharpy · 13/12/2021 08:18

We sometimes make waffles with maple syrup.

Trixiefirecracker · 13/12/2021 08:26

For the kids we do French toast with maple syrup and sometimes fruit (like a homemade compot) and squirty cream and we have either eggs royal or benedict.

MatildaIThink · 13/12/2021 08:30

Eggs Benedict and eggs royale, tea and coffee, also the same on boxing day morning , because it is delicious!

SpookyScarySkeletons · 13/12/2021 08:31

We've got one of the jusrol cinnamon rolls in the freezer. Cut into slices and bake on Christmas morning. Lovely with a nice coffee.

ObsidianViolet · 13/12/2021 08:34

Smoked kippers and potato waffles, I keep it small and simple because then we can move on to the presents quicker (we do presents after breakfast) we also have our Christmas Dinner at lunchtime and a small breakfast leaves plenty of room for a big lunch and lots of chocolate Grin

Breakfast is usually the most relaxed Christmas meal in our house - everyone is up at different times. I'm always up early to start prepping lunch - my favourite moment with Classic FM on low before anyone else is really stirring, sort of an extension of Christmas Eve. I love the anticipation - creeping around putting the finishing touches to the table and making sure all the gifts are under the tree. When the kids were little they would have been up with me opening their stockings now they'll be sleeping in. I usually have a bowl of cereal or some toast, but something meagre because of all the food that's on the menu for the rest of the day. Others may or may not grab something at the kitchen table while we open stockings. Everything else is carefully planned and prepared from pre-lunch Champagne and nibbles to Christmas cake and tea in the evening so its lovely to have a relaxed start in pyjamas before changing into my finery for the rest of the day.

Potato Roark with creme fraiche and smoked trout

YouGotThisKeepGoing · 13/12/2021 09:09

Rosti not roark!

mbosnz · 13/12/2021 09:14

There would be a riot, if we didn't do eggs benedict with smoked salmon (DH does a mean eggs benedict from scratch), so that with mimosas. .

RosesAndHellebores · 13/12/2021 09:16

Tea and biscuits (DC used to eat chocolate) because we have to be at church for 9am for the 9.30 service. DH and I usually have duties.

We have open smoked salmon sarnies, champagne and presents at 11.30ish.

SilverHairedCat · 13/12/2021 09:21

I've ordered Dishoom breakfast naans. Looking forward to that!

SilverHairedCat · 13/12/2021 09:22

No rotis not naan.

MrFlippersPancake · 13/12/2021 09:23

Pastries and champagne here

penguinwithasuitcase · 13/12/2021 09:24

@echt

I'm in Australia.

oyster shoots: oyster + Tabasco.
Buck's Fizz
Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.

Carols from the King's College Choristers.

It's a Wonderful Life - film.

This is my ACTUAL idea of heaven.

Can I come to yours for Christmas?! Grin

Mistletoeandwhineing · 13/12/2021 09:50

This year we’re having crumpets with cream cheese, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Plus cinnamon buns, saffron buns and chocolates 😅
Usually have mimosas or baileys coffee, but not been able to drink for a couple of years due to it making me feel ill 😫so will have cappuccino with cinnamon, fresh orange or a festive hot choc

emmathedilemma · 13/12/2021 09:59

The same as I do any other day!

Deadcanary1 · 13/12/2021 10:00

Some lovely breakfasts here. We always keep it simple, as there's so much yummy food to get through on Xmas day! Typical breakfasts are bagel with smoked salmon.and cream cheese, or croissants/ pastries with orange juice and freshly brewed coffee.

CPDubs · 13/12/2021 10:01

Used to be up at 6 making homemade all butter pastry sausage rolls (puff and shortcrust!)

More recently eggs royale 😍😍

SusannaQueen · 13/12/2021 10:08

Wow, you are all so grown up! Will someone adopt me? Grin
