As I understand it (could be very wrong) Bucks Fizz is the British name, and Mimosas is the American name. . . but they're definitely interchangeable terms for a very enjoyable, relatively guilt free morning tipple! WineXmas Grin

Smoked salmon & blinis, pain au chocolat and Bucks Fizz :)

violetanemone · 14/12/2021 10:11

Baileys on cornflakes

Can't believe how people have a big breakfast when there's so much more food to come 😂 growing up we just used to open the biscuit tin my parents would always get a a gift. Now I tend to do biscuits and toast a few croissants if anyone wants one.

Scrambled egg and really good smoked salmon.

minnimiss · 14/12/2021 10:56

I have ordered eggnogg custard filled cruffins (muffins made from croissant pastry) and cherry and almond bear claws from a local bakery along with a fresh sourdough loaf that will have a whole cheese baked into it as our Christmas lunch starter. Yep a healthy Christmas in our house Grin

The last few years , we have had either....
Pancakes with berries and maple syrup,
Smoked Salmon & cream cheese bagels or
Warm croissants with a couple of different jams.
Served with fresh coffee and a glass of OJ.

Is the pork pie thing regional?

crummy thing I think, ive had colleagues who live that way and eat this

ivykaty44 · 14/12/2021 18:39

brummy not crummy

pinkksugarmouse · 15/12/2021 19:22

Traditionally I get a nice posh box of Granola and then eat it for breakfast from Christmas Eve up until I have finished it.
I expect DH will try some and then just have his usual toast.

Itsnotdeep · 15/12/2021 19:32

We're having either eggs benedict, blinis or pancakes. With either espresso martini or bucks fizz or both.

we have it at around 10 and the meal at 4-5pm

Hiybbiiytc · 15/12/2021 19:37

I don't it's pretty much the one day I don't, iwant to leave room for sneaky nibbles as I cook, a roast potato here, a spoonful of cranberry sauce there Grin

MrsSkylerWhite · 15/12/2021 19:39

Best two ever were a mushroom concoction with cream, sherry, spices on toast and home made Chelsea buns, still warm.

MrsSkylerWhite · 15/12/2021 19:40

No lunch here, Christmas dinner around 7pm.
Look forward to a tasty breakfast.

I’m having the majority of it catered this year due to this being a house full of very tired people.

I’m having someone come in and do a waffle and pancake station with fruits and toppings for all of us ( there’s a fair number of us) and they’ll also do a selection of breads/pastries/muffins/French toast/granola/fruit/tea/coffee/juice etc.

I’ll also make scrambled eggs with sausages/tomato’s/mushrooms and that’s it.

KimmyKimdoo · 15/12/2021 22:40

Coffee and a toasted waffle! Hangul of strawberries. The kids will have their usual porridge first before going downstairs. They’ll bring their stockings into our bed and DH will bring us all breakfast in bed. It’s the best way because once they see the presents downstairs… breakfast is a write off!
