We always have croissants, chocolate chip brioches, Nutella (for ds2), jams (different ones each year - blackberry, cherry and apricot this year) and Buck's Fizz.

Christmas breakfast is always a mad rush in our house. dc will probably have something quick like pain au chocolat and I will gulp down a cup of tea while nagging my 7 year old to get dressed and nagging my teenager to get up.

Why a rush?! Christmas mornings surely about just enjoying?
Dontforgetyourbrolly · 13/12/2021 13:41

Trixiefirecracker · 13/12/2021 13:47

No nagging on Christmas Day! ☹️

Allthesefolks · 13/12/2021 13:56

Eggs royale (with shop bought fresh hollondaise as I’m lazy), Buck’s Fizz, Christmas Tree Brioche for children if they turn their nose up at the eggs.

Chocolate Grin

Iamanicepersonreally · 13/12/2021 14:22

Neurodiversitydoctor · 13/12/2021 14:26

Selection of pastries and Definately a lemoncello panatone

Sammilouwho · 13/12/2021 14:29

A selection box. It's not Christmas morning without that!

Mulhollandmagoo · 13/12/2021 15:09

Bucks Fizz usually Xmas Grin

YoureStillOnMute · 13/12/2021 15:17

I always do a make-ahead casserole so I only have to pop it in the oven Christmas morning. Literally the only time of year I am this organised. Can do a savoury (sliced baguettes/ham/cheese/spinach/egg) or sweet (french toast casserole, blueberry pecan pancake bread pudding).

diddl · 13/12/2021 15:39

Breaded Camembert & cranberry sauce.

Sounds sad.

Guessing you have to be somewhere?

Howareyouflower · 13/12/2021 15:45

Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast with Bucks Fizz and nice coffee.

Laufeythejust · 13/12/2021 15:49

Toasted bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon washed down with champagne. We always host Christmas dinner so it’s mine and DPs little celebration. Christmas hats and music are mandatory.

MamaWeasel · 13/12/2021 16:11

Jus rol croissants, pain au chocolat and cinnamon swirls

Thatsplentyjack · 13/12/2021 16:27

I'm going to have a bagel with crispy bacon, cream cheese and mango chutney and a Tim hortons French vanilla latte. Ds2 said he will have the same. The others don't know yet.

Thatsplentyjack · 13/12/2021 16:27

Oh and I'll get myself a cinnamon bun for after.

AutumnOrange · 13/12/2021 16:31

@Feedingthebirds1

Ham and pickled onions with white bread and butter. The reasons for this are lost in the mists of time but it's a long-standing tradition. strangely, it works.

Pork pie, bread & butter

All of the above. Can trace it back over 150 years as a family tradition.

It goes back generations for us too! Love the little traditions at Christmas. When there was panic about a possible shortage of turkeys this year all our family were worried about was that we could get our usual decent pork pie from the butchers -nothing else mattered 😂
SantaMonicaPier · 13/12/2021 17:02

I have smoked salmon and scrambled eggs while the veggies have quorn bacon bagels. Usually fizz too but I might give that a miss this year as it makes me too sleepy

CrumpleHornedSnowcack · 13/12/2021 17:03

smoked salmon, scrambled egg & bucks fizz

CurryLover55 · 13/12/2021 17:15

When we were kids we had pork pie & a glass of milk but as an adult I usually have a bagel with smoked salmon & creamcheese.

Proseccoagain · 13/12/2021 17:15

We always had a huge plate of toast and butter, everyone helped themselves, and the grown ups had coffee with dark rum in it.

When I was a child breakfast was always slices of home cooked ham with bread and butter.

jerometheturnipking · 13/12/2021 17:16

We usually do pancakes for Christmas morning - options of maple syrup, chopped bananas, berries, and nutella for toppings. Coffee for DH and I, orange juice for the kids.

This year they've been asking if we can do fresh pastries, although we do that as our post-Mass brunch every Sunday so they might stick with the pancakes.
