I've just had the strangest visit ever. Some bloke in a long white dress, with wings just popped and and told me that I'm pregnant. Is this a new Clearblue product that I've not heard about? Is it, and if so how soon is it reliable? Bit worried as I didn't actually pee on him.

AIBU:

To be pi*ssed off at uninvited guests?

These three old blokes (mates of DH, I think) just pitched up on the doorstep and expected to be invited in. FFS, I'm 9m pregnant and it's Christmas!

And what the hell am I supposed to do with frankincense?

DrNortherner · 17/12/2007 17:11

Sounds like you re about to have a Mumsnet baby. It will be a boy and you must call him Cheeseus. He will be adored and admired by all and he will have the power to turn 3 cheese strings into 95 blocks of organic homemade handwoven cheese, he will distribute it to the poor souls who's Mothers feed them processed crap.

Amen.

RosaLuxMundi · 17/12/2007 17:11

You had better get your pretty little ass in gear fast if you want to book maternity care. The nearest maternity units book up really fast and you don't want to be travelling miles once you are in labour. You might want to book an independent midwife too so you are not caught on the hop.

Fed up with people turning up with no warning. We are staying in crappy acommadation as it is. I have just had a baby in the most basic conditions surrounded by shitting, smelly, noisy animals and now on top of it all people I don't even know keep arriving to worship the baby.

THey expect me to run around after them when fgs I've just given birth.

AIBU to wish they'd at least call first?

ArmadilloDaMan · 17/12/2007 17:12

damn, lapin did it better.

WanderingTrolley · 17/12/2007 17:12

PorpoiseOnEarth · 17/12/2007 17:12

Am I Being unreasonable?:
Shepherd's wife
My husband came home at 4am this morning with some ridiculous story about being visited by an angel and seeing a baby in a stable.
This really is the last straw [excuse the pun] He and his mates had obviously been out inn-crawling. I feel like packing up my things and leaving.

Health:

Does sharing accommodation with an ox and an ass pose any health risk to my newborn?

Blandmum · 17/12/2007 17:13

Longhaul

We are thinking of going to Bethlehem towards the end of Dec for a short break. Should I book a room for the night, or risk it?

style and beauty

Am thinking of taking some of this myrhh stuff to a friend with a newborn - I've heard it's some kind of balm - do you think it would be suitable ?

Blandmum · 17/12/2007 17:15

Ethical Living.

If we do go to bethlehem we are thinking of using an ass to reduce out carbon footprint. Someone has said this is cruel to the Ass. What do you think? Is animal welfare more important than the greenhouse effect. And if the Ass farts, where do I stand? Regarding methane, that is?

Gifted and Talented

My one-day-old baby can work miracles. People literally fall at his feet and worship him. Do I need to get him signed up for gifted and talented programme or would it be OK to leave it until he starts school?

Sleep

This farkin dazzling star is putting all my attempts to get baby into a routine to pot. No blackout blinds to be had in the holiday season. Or am I being PFB?

We weren't planning on going the GF route, but now I really need blackout blinds. There's this star...

HabbiChristmasToBu · 17/12/2007 17:17

Longhaul: Can anyone think of an environmentally friendly way to travel to Bethlehem over Christmas? I hear camels are just terrible for methane emissions.

NowTheHollyBearsABero · 17/12/2007 17:17

WT great minds

wessexgirl · 17/12/2007 17:17

Has anyone else's HV mentioned that current government guidelines recommend the slaughter of all male children under 2?

Home education

Due to pressing personal reasons we will be taking our new born son to Egypt for a while after his birth. Should we home ed, or are the local schools good?

Is this going to far?

We gave shelter to a young couple as it's quite busy around us and she looked like she would drop at any moment but it is just one thing after another. Do we have a manger? Do we have swaddling clothes? Please can we tell the shepherds to go around the back? Is there anywhere safe to keep gold? How long do we let them stay?
