Thread 2 - the one with the return of the buns

@jumpingintosummer thanks for the inspiration for the thread title, I’m now singing ‘return of the buns’ to the tune of ‘return of the Mac’

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here to use for if you’re posting your personal referral link to others.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@Daisy829

Not a bargain as such but if there are any bath and body works fans, next have started to stock their items online. Candles are 2 for £35, soaps 2 for £10 & they have some body care products on 3 for 2.
Thank you so much! Game changer!
Mathscourses · 24/08/2021 14:49

Superdrug has a half price offer on some Simple products today.

The sheet masks might be useful for stocking fillers.

Free delivery over £15, or £10 if you have their (free) Health and Beauty card. Free “order and collect” in store.

They have lots of other offers today.

boobybum · 24/08/2021 15:50

@ Grrrpredictivetex I may be having temporary brain failure but I can’t see that advent calendar on The Works website - are you able to provide a link?

triplechoc · 24/08/2021 16:02

@CottonHeadedNinnyMug Thank you so much for the Robert Sabuda recommendation, I’ve never seen his books before and they are gorgeous - perfect gifts for my nieces.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 24/08/2021 16:04

Crazy that the bbw at next range has nearly sold out and it hasn’t even been officially launched yet apparently. Fingers crossed they will get all the seasonal stuff in ASAP. There are even rumours that there will be three stores in the UK!

Daisy829 · 24/08/2021 16:13

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight that would be amazing. I stocked up at the end of last year and did a massive order from the US so still working my way through it all. Such nice stuff. The candles are fab. Be great to see some seasonal stuff. I guess selling through next is a safe way to test the water

Daisy829 · 24/08/2021 16:13

I know! I was excited when I heard about this.

Wooden play boat with sandpit, £60 including postage. They have been (and still are) £200 from the company direct, £150 in argos so a pretty good buy. I am getting one for my daughters 2nd birthday even though its not til March 🤣

Carrotcakeforbreakfast · 24/08/2021 16:27

Oh god imagine if they actually open bbw shops.
I would be in my element.

Managed to order 2 candles and 3 bubble baths because of a lovely poster on here messaging me to tell me next sell them now.

MerylSqueak · 24/08/2021 16:38

Popsa has 50 per cent off photobooks with AUG50

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 24/08/2021 17:00

@Notlongnow1

Presumably it stops being a bargain if you consider having another baby so you can justify buying a beautiful ball pit? Asking for a friend.
🤣

I'm clearly late to the bath and body works crowd, what scents are particularly nice? There's so much to choose from on the next site when I don't know what I'm looking at 😂 thinking I'll treat myself to some posh bubble bath as baby #2 is giving me the worst PGP and a bath offers some short term relief!

We have the Alice in Wonderland one and it is magnificent. I put a range of them in my amazon basket last year and waited to see which would drop the lowest and was glad it was this-the cards are particularly impressive!

furstivetreats · 24/08/2021 17:43

I'm also here for the info on the bath and body works scents! I'm eyeing up warm vanilla sugar but worried it might be artificial and cloying.

Daisy829 · 24/08/2021 17:48

My fave bbw is into the night but honestly there are so many lovely scents. Rose and Ivy is also beautiful as is champagne toast, Japanese cherry blossom, into the stars. There’s just so many!
Warm vanilla is more an evening winter/autumn candle to me.

RagamuffinCat · 24/08/2021 17:57

Black cherry merlot is my favourite B&BW scent! I am so excited that they have started selling in Next, I will definitely be placing an order when more is in stock.

LionMummyRoar · 24/08/2021 17:59

Dinosaur fingerings for £6 at poundland. They had the raptor and t rex at my local, which are only £7.50 at the entertainer but used the savings on some colour change pens (perfect for stockings!).

TheCrow · 24/08/2021 18:03

Just been in our local British Heart Foundation store and next to the till they had a basket of brand new Claire's Accessories stuff 3 for £1! It's the unsold sale stock. Not sure if it's the same price in all branches but definitely worth a look 🙂

Scout2016 · 24/08/2021 18:14

I have Peter Pan done by Robert Sabuda and it is wonderful I was so impresdimpressed, but it is very intricate. I intend to give it as a gift but can't decide how young is old enough to trust any of the children I know with it. Maybe nephew's 7th birthday.

Carrotcakeforbreakfast · 24/08/2021 18:42

@Annie1290 I've not tried the bubble bath before so I'll report back.
Candle wise I really love the "winter" one.
To me it smells like Christmas orange and clove. It is lovely.

Last year I had hot cocoa and scream for Halloween. That was sweet but I still liked it.

I don't usually have them in the summer but this year I had laundry day and light it for an hour after giving the house a blitz and it smells lovely and fresh (but quite powerful)

I couldn't get any handwash but they've all been lovely. I have coastal walk in the downstairs loo at the moment and recommend that and I always get the autumnal ones too.

Hopefully they'll start stocking them in store soon so you can go and have a good sniff.

CarolinaWeeper · 24/08/2021 18:43

@happytobemrsg for my 2.5 year old I'm planning on getting them the Little Tikes Giant Slide for the garden. We have the smaller Little Tikes slide but my DC need a bigger one.

Other than that they mostly play with their older sibling's Playmobil and Schleich animals.

sorryiasked · 24/08/2021 18:56

For those that love the pop up books but have younger ones I can recommend "midnight creatures" and also "secrets of winter" shine a light books.
Not sure if they're still in print but usually available on used book sites.

mumontherun14 · 24/08/2021 18:58

Hiya it might be a bit early but i'm looking for some nice festive tableware and placesettings etc (got the wooden reindeers!). Every year I leave it late and end up picking up bits and pieces in Asda or Sainsury's or ordering stuff from Amazon that's a bit dissappointing as I can't see it in advance. Can you keep your eyes out and tag me if anyone sees nice red festive tableware - bonus if its a bargain as well but decent quality too. Thanks for the Boots links got some palettes for DD. Missed Blokus but got it on the wishlist xx

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 24/08/2021 19:05

Hello bargain hunters, what’s the best way to watch out for bargains on Amazon - do I put things in the wish list and keep checking back or is there a better way?

Voiceofreason92 · 24/08/2021 19:13

@Allmyarseandpeggymartin
