Thread 2 - the one with the return of the buns

Reastie · 16/08/2021 18:53

@jumpingintosummer thanks for the inspiration for the thread title, I’m now singing ‘return of the buns’ to the tune of ‘return of the Mac’

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here to use for if you’re posting your personal referral link to others.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@MrsBungle

Has anyone seen any lovely gin glasses? Preferably that can be engraved. Struggling for my brother Hmm
I’m a fan of Etsy for this type of thing. I just love Etsy though…

Thanks to PPs for the Paddy and Scott's coffee tips. Just got for DH and 15% off too as a new customer.

Stealbee · 16/08/2021 21:21

Tweet Beatz by John Adams (educational and recreational) for budding musicians. Currently on Amazon for £12.62 from £20. Super cool gift for both genders; used by 6 year old and 2 year old DN's

pinknail · 16/08/2021 21:30

Thanks for the new thread Smile

Was also just going to add Argos clearance toys section has had more toys added so I presume other bits may have been added to all clearance.

FlatteredFool · 16/08/2021 21:54

I'm pretty much done for ds.

If anyone likes Geomags then there's lots of sets reduced on Amazon. Ds is 6 and first hit them age 4. We all love playing with them.

Doghairismyglitter · 16/08/2021 22:04

Second thread already! Nice to see you all.
How many did we do last year?
I'm on the hunt for bargain beauty minis for advents if anyone sees any.

FireflyGirl · 16/08/2021 22:21

So pleased for you, @Sideorderofchips!

I bought DH the Paddy & Scott coffee last year, which was well received, and a travel coffee press flask from Lisa Angel. It's out of stock now, but Bodum have this one which is similar.

Raindancer411 · 16/08/2021 22:21

Thanks to all those that replied. I had the little tikes slide for my eldest but sold it as didn't expect another baby 😂 I may get the cube for now as it's a shorter slide and more supportive once at the top. I can always get a bigger slide when she put grows the cube. It says 4/5 years old but without seeing size I not sure how true it is.

I missed out on the blokus 😩

I brought that travel flask for Christmas last year and it’s much loved and used daily…I’m a bit jealous tbh

Not a bargain really but the new smyths catalogues will be posted out from mid September. You can sign up on smyths toystore website now if you want one delivered x

Teddansononmyown · 16/08/2021 22:40

Bit of a niche one but any websites that do direct-and not crippilingly expensive- delivery to Australia?
So far I can find House of Fraser and Marks and Spencer, but I'm ideally looking for toys, trainers and gifts things.
Alternatively, any Australian users point me in the direction of online shops based in Oz that I can order directly from??

On a thread the other day a mumsnetter in Australia recommended Toymate
Jumpingintosummer · 16/08/2021 22:48

Awww @Reastie you have made my night. I have always had a thread title for many years under different names but never thread two Xmas Grin.

Back to business… remember Next clearance is always worth a look, just got DD boots for £10!

Raindancer411 · 16/08/2021 22:48

Forgot to say to all the posters who said about the ice cream cart... I already got that in storage 😂

Dreamingofwalden · 16/08/2021 23:01

For anyone on the lookout for magnetic tiles Children’s Hub 60 piece set is reduced to £27.99. I have just bought the 46 piece set for my niece but by the time I was going to post the link it has sold out. Magnetic tiles are one of the most played with toys in our house. [Children Hub 60pcs Magnetic Building Blocks Set - Building Construction Kit Educational STEM Toys For Kids (Stronger Magnets) [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06WGS7NT9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_YJF31G0BNN397SW83FCFmagnetic?tag=mumsnetforu03-21 tiles]]

Dreamingofwalden · 16/08/2021 23:02

Could do better with my links.

Dreamingofwalden · 16/08/2021 23:10

@Teddansononmyown last year some very helpful people pointed me in the direction of Target.au, David Jones, Big W and Amazon au. My niece and nephew have birthdays in Nov and Jan so I needed to order a fair bit. It was much more convenient than the previous year. Postage is so expensive Sad

My tip would be order in plenty of time. Amazon au is - some of the toys had two week delivery times. Some things I dithered about sold out.

This year I would like to do a mixture of posting a few special bits from here and presents from the big shops. If anyone has any tips on postage to Oz it would be much appreciated. Thanks Smile

Givealittlebit · 16/08/2021 23:14

Just a reminder that gaps closing all its outlets etc so if you have one nearby it's worth a look! Got some bargain T-shirt's for presents, and they do lovely pjs. Sale online too!

Frankie6265427 · 17/08/2021 01:45
