I haven't seen this thread yet and it's one I enjoy - the annual game of fridge jenga!

Here is ours - no meat in there yet so not sure where that is going to fit 😬

There is lots of booze & juice as well as prawn cocktail, squirty cream & double cream, red cabbage, Savoy cabbage, sprouts, a gazillion cheeses

Oh go away.

There is no shortage for Christmas.

I’ve not been for my shop yet OP.

SparklingLime · 22/12/2020 09:51

Jesus, this seems in bad taste. Loads of people are really struggling to feed their families and worrying about how they’ll manage in January.

formerbabe · 22/12/2020 09:59

Hmm bad taste imo

MrsWhites · 22/12/2020 10:00

Sorry you are getting a hard time OP, I’m planning my game of fridge Tetris once my shop comes tonight too!

Yes, I have bought lots of food for Christmas, that doesn’t mean I haven’t supported food banks throughout the year and particularly for Christmas.

Howmanysleepsnow · 22/12/2020 10:01

Not done my shop yet OP but thanks for starting the thread

Morgan12 · 22/12/2020 10:04

There are people struggling to feed families all year, every year. Was the thread in bad taste last year?

Get a grip. People still have lives to live.

I don't have a full fridge OP as I am going to my family for Christmas. But wow yours is mental!

NotYourHolidayDick · 22/12/2020 10:04

Oh for fuck sake, we play this game every year and will continue to do so.

My fridge is already quite full- but food isn't coming until tomorrow so I'm going to have to empty and play tetris tomorrow!

I’m happy to find joy where I can. Our income is down to 40% of last year’s and DH has been severely unwell with C19. This thread (and the whole board) lifts my spirits. If others don’t want to see, don’t click! I, however, will be following.

Christmascheese · 22/12/2020 10:10

We got a bigger fridge this year and now it doesn’t look as nearly so satisfyingly full as usual! (Just had our Christmas delivery) I should probably buy some more things to fill it up!! I haven’t got a picture of the fridge right now but here’s a picture of the cheese I bought at a market the other day!

Oh don't give the op a hard time.
This is the same thread that runs every year. Of course it's sad times atm but bloody hell its a fridge with contents in, I would join in op but my kids have helped put the shopping away and it actually looks like the door might come of its hinges if I don't fix it around soon. Grin

pinkpetal2 · 22/12/2020 10:12

@Christmascheese That is a lot of cheese I'm getting thoughts about just sinking my teeth into one of them slices like it's a cake.

I hope your DH is well recovered and that you and your family have a lovely Christmas x

People only care now that it's affecting people that have always considered there income as secure before. Can't remember that much outrage about the pittance carers, those who are disabled, or who are out of work often for reasons beyond their control because they're often marginalised anyway and don't have much of a voice in society.

Anyway, looks like a good selection OP, I need to sort the fridge before shopping, found a forgotten cucumber that went off in Oct which was a sign.

damnthemanatee · 22/12/2020 10:17

These fridges are making me feel anxious. You all need The Home Edit in your lives!

I know, I’m not sure I really factored in not being able to have friends round and dh doesn’t even eat cheese!! I figure if there’s food shortages I’ll be ok until at least Feb Grin

MakeTeaNotWar · 22/12/2020 10:19

It's sprouts and cabbage, not lobster tails and caviar 🙄 I haven't seen my elderly parents in more than a year and my mental health is down the shitter. I will enjoy the contents of my fridge having scrimped and saved to be able to have the semblance of a festive season.

Merry Christmas everyone

I don't understand why anyone needs so much this year...surely you don't all have hordes of guests arriving?

Marmite27 · 22/12/2020 10:21

The space at the top was for some cans of soft drink.

Howmanysleepsnow · 22/12/2020 10:21

@MrsWhites he’s recovered now thankfully. Have a lovely Christmas!

LadyPenelope68 · 22/12/2020 10:21

My teenage son went in the fridge yesterday (and the second one we have in the garage) and said yes, it’s Christmas as I can’t see the fridge light because it’s so full! 😂😂

tshirtsuntan · 22/12/2020 10:22

@MakeTeaNotWar I had to do a massive double take there- you've got the same fridge and floor as me Grin

Backbee · 22/12/2020 10:23

@MakeTeaNotWar ignore the miserable posters, I'm sure most people are mindful of the struggles, doesn't mean no one can talk about anything or try and keep some of the festive spirit going. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and get to see your parents soon. Look after yourself as well, I found it really helpful to reach out as I was struggling with my MH too, it's bloody hard at the moment, and yes some nice food amongst the crap does make a difference.

Sweetooth92 · 22/12/2020 10:28

I get to play this game today! Except I’ve managed to book a slot DH has work calls, and clashes with lunch for DS, 2 & DS 11months. This could end in me drinking the Christmas wine on the order and not getting the tidy, nicely arranged fridge I need 😬

lovemenomore · 22/12/2020 10:28

Some right miserable barstewards on here - come on its been a shitter for everyone so why not get pleasure out of looking at the insides of peoples fridges?!

Loosen up people!
