I haven't seen this thread yet and it's one I enjoy - the annual game of fridge jenga!

Here is ours - no meat in there yet so not sure where that is going to fit 😬

There is lots of booze & juice as well as prawn cocktail, squirty cream & double cream, red cabbage, Savoy cabbage, sprouts, a gazillion cheeses

I love this annual thread. My final delivery arrived, so here's mine. One for food, one for drinks. Milk and meat live in the cellar fridge. Some of these fridges give me palpitations, I'd never find anything!

And I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas, I hope it's as good as it can be this year.

Never knew how many people used squeezy cream until this thread. Maybe I am missing out!

Flaxmeadow · 24/12/2020 13:36

Blimey, I used to think mumsnet was posh

Longdistance · 24/12/2020 13:45

Our Aussie fridge packed full. It nearly gave up the ghost in the summer, but we managed to get a part for it here in the UK.
Wine fridge added. I just received a box of wine from Aldi’s too. That’ll live in the garage, it’s cold in there.

Why the need to be sneery on a fun thread?

Because they're humourless knobbers? Xmas Hmm

Here’s mine. Not as full or exciting as some others but there are very few of us this year (just DD16 and lovely MIL).
I had to work this morning, but DH and MIL blitzed the whole house (they put Queen on loudly I’m told 😁😁). All the veg is prepped and all I needed to do was glaze my slow cooker gammon. She taught him well. We’re about to have tea and Yule Log.

Tried to post from my phone but it's not having any of it.

I love my Easy Access fridge - each of the trays is 60x60cm, which means I have more space in this than I did in a big old fridge freezer.

Spuds under the kitchen table (as DP bought some), along with onions and Swede, drinks beside the back steps, eggs on the windowsill - but after ordering 18, including half a dozen Duck eggs, DP also came back with a catering sized tray of the buggers, so we've got eggs until well into the New Year. I really wish he'd taken my hints of 'I'd love to have an old fashioned china chicken shaped egg crock' seriously.

He also bought butter when I put a pound and a half on the order. Not the end of the world, I'll probably slice and freeze some. But I endured a 45 minute conversation with him two nights ago explaining exactly what I'd ordered to avoid the kitchen looking like there's been a robbery at a battery farm.

He's out at the moment getting some full cream milk and (hopefully) some Bay Leaves. Odds are he'll be back with a giant bag of crisps, snacks and half an unattended pig knowing him, as I've suggested that making Gammon waits until New Year as we've got tons of food.

Hopefully don't need to darken a shop door for quite a while.

@helpingyourselftocheese

Here's mine. Just three of us this year and the meat will be collected from M&S tomorrow. Champagne and other booze in the fridge downstairs. So much f'ing misery on this thread, let's let people find enjoyment where they can - a full fridge if that's what helps. I've gone completely overboard - 6 bottles of our fave champagne downstairs, lobster (in the freezer), fillet of beef to collect tomorrow. Its extravagant but don't care, DH just got diagnosed with cancer this week so I'm making it the very best Christmas I can ❤️
I wish your husband a speedy recovery. Enjoy your special day together 💙💖
Zeewest · 30/12/2020 13:35

I have no probs seeing peoples fridges, mine even got it's annual complete clean (had it a year and found some packing tags ) yes I am a slob. My fridge won't be very full as I had to cancel my daughter coming over selfishly I'm glad to be having the weeknd to myself

MirandaMarple · 30/12/2020 21:25

Let's see the after Christmas fridges!

Sgtmajormummy · 30/12/2020 22:35

This is my “after” fridge.
The leftovers will make vegetable soup and turkey sandwiches for tomorrow’s lunch.
The only thing I’ve bought in the meantime is fresh bread and carrots (beer and soup carton migrated from the cupboard), and I don’t expect to go shopping until 2021!

PickAChew · 30/12/2020 22:42

I did a weekly shop on Monday, so mine is stuffed again. Some party food for tea, tomorrow, a chicken for nyd some fruit and veg and it's rammed, again. And will be empty again, by the weekend!

BiddyPop · 31/12/2020 15:22

Mine is still rammed as the teen took DH to supermarket yesterday for bread, milk and a "few bits" for her... tiny bit of freezer space is gone again and the space I had found in fridge. As she brought home 2 large bags...

But I am eating the last of the Christmas Day roasted veg as soup right now for lunch, we ate all the turkey (1 breast is frozen to use another time) and almost nothing got wasted except salad leaves.

And as we are back in lockdown, we will make use of it all over the next month. I have an online shop booked for Saturday for bread, milk and fruit/veg, but it's the minimum spend.

user1498572889 · 31/12/2020 15:46

I’ve just come across this thread. There was no where near enough pictures of full fridges. I love looking at what food everyone else has.

Oblomov20 · 31/12/2020 15:51

Oh my word. I've died and gone to heaven. This is my favourite thread EVER. In 20 years of MN. I love peoples fridges. I'm so nosy. I adore a full fridge. Especially yours OP. I have 4 sil's and all their fridges look like yours!

Oblomov20 · 31/12/2020 15:53

Why have I never seen this thread before? In previous years? AngryAngryAngry

And no. I don't think it's in bad taste. Even in covid times.

Oblomov20 · 31/12/2020 16:05

Mine is normal atm.
I can't believe what good stackers you all are! You wouldn't get a fag paper extra in most of your fridges!

BiddyPop · 04/01/2021 09:54

I finally have some room in mine - although DD does her best to instantly refill any holes with more bowls of mixes, or "I'll finish that later"'ses. We've also got the whisper of a space back in the freezer, although I need to run down what's in there and restock with proper meals again (lots of single portions, but not enough of anything to make a meal for 3, as not even 3 different "serve with rice" type things.
