I haven't seen this thread yet and it's one I enjoy - the annual game of fridge jenga!

Here is ours - no meat in there yet so not sure where that is going to fit 😬

There is lots of booze & juice as well as prawn cocktail, squirty cream & double cream, red cabbage, Savoy cabbage, sprouts, a gazillion cheeses

@formerbabe

I don't understand why anyone needs so much this year...surely you don't all have hordes of guests arriving?
Yes, I’m having 30 for Christmas Day. Then in the evening I’m having the entire village round for mince pies. Go away.
formerbabe · 22/12/2020 10:33

@Friendsoneuptown. Who are you to tell me to go away? Wtf. It's a valid question not an accusation...surely no one is having huge Christmases this year?

GreekOddess · 22/12/2020 10:34

@formerbabe Christmas lunch with all the sides can fill a fridge on its own. My Christmas delivery is arriving tomorrow, with breakfast, Christmas lunch and a cheeseboard I expect our fridge to be close to bursting (it's an ordinary sized fridge not American style).

formerbabe · 22/12/2020 10:34

Oh and I think the ops definition of scrimping and saving is probably very different to mine

LuckyAmy1986 · 22/12/2020 10:36

@MakeTeaNotWar don't let the nargles get you down!
Merry Christmas x

JazzyGeoff · 22/12/2020 10:37

It's just our household this year (five of us), no visitors at all but my fridge is groaning. Xmas lunch ingredients, a massive ham, a trifle, buffet stuff, cheeseboard and loads of booze etc that isn't usually there

SendHelp30 · 22/12/2020 10:38

@formerbabe well there’s 8 of us which is just me, DH, DC and my parents? Consider some families have more than 2 children and you’ve got yourselves a “big” Christmas

@MakeTeaNotWar looks fabulous! I will post mine later once my shop arrives!! Merry Christmas!

formerbabe · 22/12/2020 10:45

Yes so funny. Reminds me of my mc 'skint' friends...it is absolutely hilarious

Comeonmommy · 22/12/2020 10:45

Children are allowed to travel between separated parents which could add people to the table.

SpaceOp · 22/12/2020 10:46

I love a bit of fridge porn but am far more fascinated by the fridges themselves!!! Mine is small and I am desperate for a new, larger one but still won't have one as big as some of these. Am jealous!!!

UndertheCedartree · 22/12/2020 10:49

Ha ha - my fridge is full of food and I've told the DC they can't eat any of it!!

Just to add - I'm on a very low income, food bank user - were so grateful to recieve food parcels from 2 charities. I've barely been eating so could afford fresh Christmas food. I have Long Covid and Post-Covid fatigue as well as a serious mental illness. Not seen my family for over a year. But still happy for a bit of Christmas fun - this is my first Christmas out of hospital in 4 years so I'm going to enjoy it! Life is hard enough as it is - the Christmas board keeps me going!

Mamette · 22/12/2020 10:54

@damnthemanatee

These fridges are making me feel anxious. You all need The Home Edit in your lives!

Onlycakesshouldhavetiers · 22/12/2020 11:01

@formerbabe agree. Bragging about having soooooo much food. Obscene.

Thegrinchshorriblesister · 22/12/2020 11:06

I’ve been here seven years and fortunately never seen this thread.

Sorry OP this is in really bad taste. Many many families are completely financially fucked this Christmas and having to use food banks.

This is the equivalent to mountains of presents under the tree on facebook idiots post every year.

The fact you are completely oblivious to what’s going on and your posting laughing emojis makes you very ignorant.

Thegrinchshorriblesister · 22/12/2020 11:06

It really is.

JorisBonson · 22/12/2020 11:07

This is always my favourite thread of the year! It's like porn.

Have gone overboard just for the 2 of us but figure I won't need to do another big shop this year.

Dagnabit · 22/12/2020 11:08

@formerbabe - the OP posted on the Christmas board so it's totally appropriate. There are plenty of other places to be miserable on so I suggest you check some of those out.

UndertheCedartree · 22/12/2020 11:09

And I agree most people weren't bothered about those of us struggling on benefits before. 3 years down the line my benefits are still not sorted and I've got into a lot of debt since my breakdown. Universal Credit was fine for us 'scroungers' before but all of a sudden 'respectable' people need to claim it - it isn't enough to live on!!

JorisBonson · 22/12/2020 11:10

my fridge is full of food and I've told the DC they can't eat any of it!!

@UndertheCedartree I'm telling DH the same thing. I've turned into my mother 😂

JazzyGeoff · 22/12/2020 11:12

Ha ha - my fridge is full of food and I've told the DC they can't eat any of it!!

The annual cries of 'mum can I have ...'

'NO THATS FOR XMAS'

UndertheCedartree · 22/12/2020 11:15

@JorisBonson Xmas Grin

UndertheCedartree · 22/12/2020 11:16

@JazzyGeoff - exactly! Xmas Grin

ChristmasFridgeJenga · 22/12/2020 11:17

Ahhh! I missed this apologies for duplicating the post. Here's my submission for this year. Grin

Meat to be collected. Can't fit the booze in
