Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

I realise this is a bit (very) niche but I’m after a large map of the uk (probably do stick in a very large frame) one that can maybe be highlighted to show places visited over the years?
Has anyone seen a nice version of such a thing?!? I guess it would need to be fairly detailed .. I’d like to be able to see eg grasmere in the lakes, Alnwick for the castle .. ANY ideas very appreciated and welcomed if anyone has bought anything similar. Would not necessarily have to have Ireland / NI

PinkPanther27 · 03/12/2020 13:45

@mummabear74 I would love the Matalan code if you still have it please. Need to order my daughter a coat from there.

VividImagination · 03/12/2020 13:54

@Fuckingfuckssake thank you so much. 2 pairs of sheepskin insoles are now on their way.

Cluelessgift · 03/12/2020 14:04

Anyone any idea when the Aldi fake velvetiser will be back in stock? It just says ‘coming soon’

Also strict strict small budget this year, and I thought I was done, but DP who never asks for anything just told me he has ALWAYS wanted a 2 in 1 waffle/toastie maker. So I’m looking for the cheapest possible version of that if anyone’s seen anything. Best I’ve seen so far is a 3 in 1 for about £26. Which I can do but if anyone knows any deals or vouchers to take me a bit less over budget I’d massively appreciate it!!

Cluelessgift · 03/12/2020 14:06

@pasinphoebe would a scratch map work? There are lots of options online

I’m not sure how to show the link properly but I know whsmiths have one

@Famousthehero I used the code from your second picture. Got myself a harbour top that I have loved for ages but not been able to justify, so thank you very much Smile Flowers

@TheCrow Perfect, thank you. I'll check that out.

Harry Potter DOBBLE £9 at Asda
Thank you for the maths gift ideas, that’s another one ticked off the list!
AtleastitsnotMonday · 03/12/2020 14:53

Sorry that had nothing to do with the Dobble!

@pasinphoebe

shop.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/st-gs-great-british-adventure-map-folded-poster-or-framed/

The ordnance survey shop has some detailed maps of the UK. The adventure one seems most appropriate to what you are after but they also have some funny ones like rude place names, and literary places in the UK.

pasinphoebe · 03/12/2020 15:05

Thank you for those who have taken the time to give me helpful UK map suggestions I really appreciate it, I’m going to look into them all now - any more welcome.
In other news The entertainer have £5 off £25 if anyone’s toy shopping today.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 03/12/2020 15:31

Afternoon. Anyone else order the glossy box mystery £5 boxes. I ordered 4 but only one has arrived. They haven’t replied to me yet

CeeceeBloomingdale · 03/12/2020 15:44

@BeGoneDom Wilko do surprisingly nice stationery at very reasonable prices. Not sure where you would get a photo notebook for that budget though.

IggyAce · 03/12/2020 15:51

@Cluelessgift we got a 3 in 1 sandwich toaster waffle maker a few weeks ago from Lidl it was under £20. I’d check your local store you might get lucky.

JaneyJimplin · 03/12/2020 15:55

Thank you so much to the multiple gaming chair ideas I've been given, I truly appreciate the tips.

I have finally found one! I trawled all local shops that might have one and eventually found a lone one in smyths - despite saying out of stock online. So relieved. Both boys now sorted and I feel like I can relax and enjoy the festive season now Xmas Smile

Chocolateteabag · 03/12/2020 15:56

I could cry - I now have 3 customer service issues on the go

My Black Friday bargain robovac from Eufy won't charge - got straight through to a live person so hopefully that will be sorted quickly (new battery first, then they will replace it)

My millets order arrived with just one jumper - email sent to see where the other one is as it was on the despatch note

My Matalan order which arrived half open and half missing - who knows! They look to be drowning in delivery issues by the state of their facebook page. Lots of people complaining about orders arriving incomplete or damaged. I guess we'll just have to wait for them to work through it all, bit Hmm that they keep sending out offers when they don't appear to be coping very well with the ones they currently have!

AnnnaBananna · 03/12/2020 16:16

@cluelessgift if the 3 in 1 waffle maker you’re talking about is the Russell Hobbs recommended on an earlier thread, you may wish to reconsider. Read the Amazon reviews of the item. Lots of people saying it repeatedly blows their electric. I’ve just returned one for this exact reason.

IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile · 03/12/2020 16:32

Does anyone please have a code for FatFace DH has, out of the blue requested a jumper from there.

unfortunateevents · 03/12/2020 16:38

@Cluelessgift I had bookmarked the sandwich maker below as a possible gift for student DS but he told me he would prefer a George Foreman - no idea if it is any good but I took the link from some article about best sandwich toasters, it has interchangeable plates for toasties, paninis and waffles.

Received an email from qwertee to say my cyber Monday purchase has been dispatched. It said this-
'Your order should arrive between December 14th and
December 21st and no later than January 6th.'

How are they sending it, carrier pigeon?! 😂

I had a similar email 😂, have to say most of the orders I have placed with them have turned up pretty fast but I had one last Christmas that was late so not getting my hopes up this year.
EvilHerbivore · 03/12/2020 17:34

I had a similar one from Amazon - ordered at the start of December and they said it should be with me by 13th of January (not a problem as it's for DSs birthday)
Got an update today that it'll be here on Saturday! Now have to hide it for a month!

thaegumathteth · 03/12/2020 17:47

@WhatYouTalkinBout I've had a nightmare with JD sports - they kept delaying and delaying then cancelled 2/3 of my order

4Minions2CallMyOwn · 03/12/2020 17:48

I have a voucher for 20% off at Matalan if anyone needs. Message if so Smile
