Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.

Really good price for this - I've had it in my basket for ages & it goes up and down but never this low!

playmobil 123 house

lolarabbit · 03/12/2020 18:23

@TheLastStarfighter if link from previous poster doesn't have what you want you could try the website that covers lots of small independent bookshops here

dramalamma · 03/12/2020 18:25

We're really slowing down post black-friday! I'm actually keeping up now!
I've taken over my Mum's xmas shopping so having done all of mine I've suddenly got a whole new list! So I've got a challenging one. Couple in their early 70s but quite young. Would usually give them food/recipe books but one of them is having an op before xmas so food is too complicated. They have everything they need but we've done charity gifts in the past and Mum wants to get them something for them this year. Both retired, foodies, he loves trains and birdspotting and she loves gardening but I'm sure over the years we've given them all the books and other presents related to those...... Any ideas welcome, budget around £40-50 for the two them. Bargains obviously even better but doesn't have to be. Oh also not local so has to be delivered (UK) or small enough to post. thank you for any suggestions!

JoanneCofton · 03/12/2020 18:26

Does anyone have a free delivery code for The White Company? I treated myself to the winter candle with the 20% off/free delivery and my boyfriend really likes it so I wanted to treat him to one. The free delivery code I used is no longer valid. Thanks Flowers

JoanneCofton · 03/12/2020 18:26

@dramalamma how about a bird box camera?

JoanneCofton · 03/12/2020 18:28

Ignore me, found one 30seconds after i posted Blush

So disappointed with Hotel Chocolat- had a hamper delivery Yesterday and all the chocolate is melted and ruined . It was sent to us as a gift and the sender is mortified but not getting a response from customer service

JaggyJumper · 03/12/2020 18:44

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight I’ve ordered 2 but they haven’t even been dispatched yet. I hope they still have stock I ordered them early Monday morning

RavelryReveller · 03/12/2020 18:58

I’ve had an email from Aldi to say they were processing my recent pre-order and that they are on track to deliver it within the estimated time frame.

I‘ve made two orders recently and wasn’t aware that either of them was a pre-order. The email might be about the copper Velvitiser dupe which they substituted for the stainless steel one I ordered, or it could be the Roomba.

Has anyone had a similar email?

Ilisten2thesoundofdrums · 03/12/2020 19:17

@carriemac try tweeting them. They respond well that way. I had an issue with similar on the hottest day of the year and it took a week for my email to be responded to by which time the twitter team had sorted it for me

LampLass · 03/12/2020 19:20

Matalan 20% off code NMEM2-5WD-00X1G9-95F
Hope it helps someone!

1stMrsF · 03/12/2020 19:25

@RavelryReveller I've had the same email. The velvetiser was a pre-order, so it'll be about that. Not sure what the time frame was supposed to be- I thought they would be despatched on 29 Nov but I guess they have been a bit overwhelmed!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 03/12/2020 19:33

Yes please @4Minions2CallMyOwn

TheCrow · 03/12/2020 19:40

@RavelryReveller guessing the velvetiser too as it was preorder. Mine was dispatched yesterday and arrived today, I think the initial emails said it would be dispatched at the start of Dec so that would make sense

4Minions2CallMyOwn · 03/12/2020 19:45

Matalan voucher is gone, sorry!

Scbchl · 03/12/2020 19:53

After Harry Potter advice gift idea please. My eight year old has watched most of them the last few weeks with my husband and is loving them. I was thinking of getting him some bits but I have no idea what is a good gift or anything about HP. He isnt in to Lego, can anyone advise of anything there child who is a Harry Potter fan may of liked please? Thanks.

BalaamsAss · 03/12/2020 20:07

@Scbchl my DDs loved this book. It’s very much based on the films rather than the books and they poured over it.

BadgerFace · 03/12/2020 20:09

@Scbchl my nearly 8 year old asked for a HP light up wand and a hedwig teddy. I’ve also got her an HP colouring book and top trumps. She’s also recently asking for a book called Quidditch through the Ages she saw on amazon...

IggyAce · 03/12/2020 20:09

@Scbchl my dd loved her HP scarf you can get them in the house colours. She also has a wand. We also picked up a hoody, t-shirts, pjs & backpack from primark. Dd also had bedding and various stationary items.
I’d also recommend the studio tour it’s amazing, even my dh who isn’t a fan of hp found it interesting.

nicky2512 · 03/12/2020 20:10

Is there anyway to save at Argos?? I have found myself needing to buy a Hornby hogwarts train at an eye watering £175. Argos seems to be cheapest but I would love to get it for a bit less.
Have got used to getting bargains thanks to being on here!!

RavelryReveller · 03/12/2020 20:16

Thank you @TheCrow and @1stMrsF.

Salamander91 · 03/12/2020 20:21

StepIntoXmas · 03/12/2020 20:24

I'm looking for a Christmas handwash similar to Molton Brown but not with the price tag 😂 can anyone recommend any please?

TheCrow · 03/12/2020 20:32

@StepIntoXmas there's a previous thread about Christmas hand soap here
