We haven't, 1st weekend in December is our usual time and we're sticking to it. Plenty in our street and surrounding area with decorations up and DD even said she thinks it's too early! I'm very surprised as I thought she'd be dying to get them up 😂

Sunshine124 · 15/11/2020 13:46

Nope- won’t be decorating until December. I will decorate earlier than normal in December. When I grew up we didn’t usually decorate until a week before Xmas as there are a few December birthdays in my family, something I have continued. However this year I will decorate earlier as I am back at work mid December and last year we moved house meaning I couldn’t decorate until the last minute. Still I won’t decorate before December but understand why some people want to early this year.

MrsBungle · 15/11/2020 13:47

No we haven’t. The vast majority of my friends haven’t either.

winetime89 · 15/11/2020 13:48

nope itl be last weekend in November as 1st December falls in the week and we want to do it on a weekend

exLtEveDallas · 15/11/2020 13:48

First Saturday in December and never before.

ChasingRainbows19 · 15/11/2020 13:49

So many people decorate early and then on Boxing Day you see posts galore on Facebook like ‘tree down, decorations away. Got my house back’ because they are sick of them, to me I’d rather be a little later ( still early December) and at least have them until new year.

onepieceoflollipop · 15/11/2020 13:49

No I haven’t
I would never decorate in November.
Ideally I would decorate the weekend before Christmas.
Now I have teenagers so they start nagging from end of November so we usually decorate by mid- December ish.
Otherwise where does it end?
Valentine’s card early January?
Easter eggs eaten by mid February?

DrWAnkenstein · 15/11/2020 13:50

I've put some fairy lights in the window just to brighten up the long nights but no Christmas decs here til at least December.

Blackdog19 · 15/11/2020 13:51

No way, will be early in December though

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 15/11/2020 13:52

We don't start until mid December here. We have a real tree and keep it up until Twelfth Night.

Redcrayons · 15/11/2020 13:52

Course not, it’s November.

Second week of December like every other year.

selflove · 15/11/2020 13:53

First weekend in December here too. My house is tiny and to put a Christmas tree in the lounge means moving the armchair into the kids bedroom and all just squeezing onto the sofa in December. It's cosy and all that, but I'm always pleased to pack it all away as soon as January hits!

ivfbeenbusy · 15/11/2020 13:53

We haven't - we wait until the first week of December

MarthaWashingtonsFeralTomcat · 15/11/2020 13:54

Hardly anyone I know has. I've 4 primary aged children.

We'll watch Home Alone at the end of November, and put tree up around 10th. I like the last week of school to be spent with mornings and evenings by the tree, but I get annoyed if it's up for too long. 3 weeks total is my absolute limit.

beela · 15/11/2020 13:54

I was about to say I didn't know anyone who had decorated yet, but then again I haven't been into anyone's house for weeks and weeks. They could have all been tinseled up since mid September for all I know.

PatchworkElmer · 15/11/2020 13:55

Nope, will do it in December. I’d be sick of the sight of it by December if I did it now!

SephrinaX · 15/11/2020 13:55

Nope, not until December. Maybe the very last weekend in November depending if I'm busy the first weekend of December.

I've done about half the Christmas shopping and bought all my decorations though.

wendz86 · 15/11/2020 13:55

I’ve put some star lights up but will do rest last weekend in nov .

WitchOfTheWest · 15/11/2020 13:55

Sending the husband into the attic later today! Grin

Jroseforever · 15/11/2020 13:56

No way
And absolutely no one around her here

It’s a regional thing. SE commuter towns and London.... no.

North of Watford... much more common

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 15/11/2020 13:57

Nope, we won't be until around the 2nd weekend in December, we do keep them up until Twelfth Night though.

hopeishere · 15/11/2020 13:58

Nope.I see lots of insta-mums are though. Desperate for content.

I know it's been a shitty year but I really don't see how putting up Christmas decorations now will help.

And it's absolutely the 1 December people who have them down on Boxing Day.

munchbunch12 · 15/11/2020 13:58

No, and I don't know anyone else who has either. We usually wait until the first weekend in december too.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 15/11/2020 13:59

Hasnt even occured to me yet. For one thing, far too early for a real tree. Secondly, we have to rearrange furniture.

I have been cinsidering getting the decoration boxes out to do a check. We've also had Christmas music on a couple of times.

tempnamechange98765 · 15/11/2020 13:59

No! It's way too early, I love Christmas and am all about all things festive from 1st of December onwards, but I would get sick of it if I put a tree etc up now!
