Anyone with kids that HASNT decorated yet?

Everyone on here seems to have!

OP posts:

No, November isn't Christmas in our house! We enjoy getting the decorations out 1st December and put a lot of them up but the tree doesn't usually happen till around 10th otherwise it dries out and drops.

AlwaysLatte · 15/11/2020 15:30

I've just remembered we need to get new external lights as the gardener managed to prune them along with the roses last year :-(

Lucked · 15/11/2020 15:30

Christmas isn’t even on my radar yet. All these posts about wrapped presents, sent cards and decorations and it is only November 15th!

It is still one month until I would put decorations up.

ShakespearesSisters · 15/11/2020 15:32

No way, up 12 days before, down 12 days after. Although I spotted my 1st xhristmas tree in someone's window over half term, argh, that was October!!
2 kids, age 6 and 8, they have not asked for them to go up but are looking forward to doing it in December.

Londontown12 · 15/11/2020 15:32

Not here !! I usually put them up 1st of Dec !
Daughter wants them up now lol she’s nearly 18 !!
We have to move furniture but due to a kitchen refurbish impossible so it will be well into December this year !
I guess it’s making people feel happier but Personally I wud be bored seeing them up too long

00100001 · 15/11/2020 15:37

Not here

ratha · 15/11/2020 15:39

Me. Because why would I? It's November.

LadyShmuck · 15/11/2020 15:41

My next door neighbour put their tree up on the 30th September. The other next door put theirs up about a week ago. I shall be remaining Scrooge-like between these houses until the 2nd week in December.

Scanner20 · 15/11/2020 15:42

Not here, usually second week in December but thinking a little earlier this year as we will be home more. I also like them up until the new year

Pascha · 15/11/2020 15:42

Nope. Haven't really started shopping yet either.

FreezerBird · 15/11/2020 15:45

Nope. Up Christmas Eve, down twelfth night.

MrsHaveLock · 15/11/2020 15:45

Nope. Not until December here. Although the eldest is asking if we can put them up the last weekend of November.

Needingsupportplease · 15/11/2020 15:47

1st weekend in December here (which is earlier than usual) not putting them up yet no doubt my 18month old is going to be pulling the tinsel and launching the baubles around the house 🤦‍♀️

ktp100 · 15/11/2020 15:47

This makes me think of the joke that goes round every year on social media...

Are your decs up?
Yes, they're up....UP IN THE FUCKING LOFT WHERE THEY BELONG FOR THE NEXT 4 WEEKS!!

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin [gring] Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Seriously though, I wouldn't blame anyone for putting decs up early this year if it cheers everyone up a bit.

We haven't yet but it won't be long. I left the Halloween decs up an extra week so the littley could enjoy them and the bare walls could defo do with a bit of sparkle now.

ktp100 · 15/11/2020 15:47

Gring!!

megletthesecond · 15/11/2020 15:48

Nothing here.
Try can have Xmas duvets 1st December and DD wants a mini tree in her room.
Living room tree won't happen until 12th December.

The sooner it's up the longer it gets in the way. And it gets boring.

Twobrews · 15/11/2020 15:50

Nope and I don't know anyone that has, although I have spotted a few Christmas trees in windows when out walking.

I'll get some things out on the first when I get the advent calendars and Christmas bedding out. We get real trees which will probably go up on the 12th or 13th although we've had to start buying them early and leaving them outside in a bucket of water as they sell out earlier each year Hmm

Galvia · 15/11/2020 15:50

No way. Dd12 desperate to start christmas-fying the house. I told her if she cleaned the house she'd have half a chance.

frustrationcentral · 15/11/2020 15:51

Nope!

DS2's birthday second week of December so we don't decorate until after that day. Suits me as whilst I like the look of the tree for a couple of weeks, it really gets on my nerves after a while so this is a great excuse for delaying it!

CeeceeBloomingdale · 15/11/2020 15:52

Not yet. I'm usually around 7-10th december

SorrelForbes · 15/11/2020 15:53

Nope. Will probably do it during the last week of school.

SeaKingdom · 15/11/2020 15:54

Of course not. Generally decorate around about 18 Dec. Decs come down on twelfth night. Might go a bit earlier this year.

earthyfire · 15/11/2020 15:57

I have kids and haven't decorated. Not in any rush to wish away my life. I have birthdays to get through yet anyway.

Figgygal · 15/11/2020 15:58

Nope never until December this year won’t be any different my kids haven’t even suggested it they’re 4 and 8

pigcon1 · 15/11/2020 16:00

Yep not ud
