Anyone with kids that HASNT decorated yet?

Everyone on here seems to have!

Usually I’m the first to have the decorations ups. Ours will be going up last weekend of November.

BettysSpaghetti · 15/11/2020 14:02

We have put some decorations and fairy lights but not the tree. We never usually do it until December but I just wanted a bit of cheer after a shitty year.

Lovemusic33 · 15/11/2020 14:13

We haven’t. Dd has a important hospital appointment on the 23rd so we will probably do it after that. Usually wait until the 1st but most people seem to be doing it early this year.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 15/11/2020 14:13

I have been surprised how many trees I have seen on Instagram. None in real life other than shops etc. We will be about the 12th. I do have a poinsettia though.

Redlocks28 · 15/11/2020 14:14

I don’t know anyone that has put their Xmas stuff up yet!

Attictroll · 15/11/2020 14:15

Not us...one mum at school seems to have and one 20 something at work. Tbh surely it will ruin it he fun of Christmas when it arrives. Must admit both I don't feel are people with much taste.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 15/11/2020 14:18

No. Far too early. Mid December for me.

The house opposite me has theirs up. Flashy window lights and giant door bow.

reginaphalangeeee · 15/11/2020 14:18

I won’t be decorating until beginning of December which is when I usually decorate.

KiposWonderbeasts · 15/11/2020 14:19

Hell no.
House decorations 1st of December, tree about the 15th.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 15/11/2020 14:20

No. It will be mid December for us, as always, and the tree will stay up to 6th January as always. I can't say I have any Christmas traditions but this is one I will always stick to and never change my mind on.

I know I should think "each to their own" about things like this, but I don't!

Vickles20 · 15/11/2020 14:36

1st December here. I totally get why people are doing it. But I feel they’re peaking too soon and they’ll get bored of it. Some things are worth waiting for x

Notjustamum28 · 15/11/2020 14:38

me neither! too soon for me, dont get me wrong I love Christmas and decorating (I have 3trees!) but I'd be bored of it all come Christmas!

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 15/11/2020 14:42

God no! Mid December and will all be down for new year.

I have seen several houses with them up though.

pinkpixie83 · 15/11/2020 14:43

3 kids here and we haven't, probably the first weekend in December, which is about normal for me. But I do have white fair lights in my lounge all year round.

The kids step mum put a tree up last weekend according to the kids. Way way too early.

thelegohooverer · 15/11/2020 14:43

I’ve always told my dc that if we decorated in November, people would mistake us for a shop and think their toys are for sale.

We manage to hang on until the first week of December

doctorhamster · 15/11/2020 14:48

We'd normally do it on the first Saturday in December but I've told the dc we can do it on the 1st this year. I'm building up to moving the furniture to accommodate the tree.

VioletSunset · 15/11/2020 14:50

Me! Its waay to early IMO.

Bluewavescrashing · 15/11/2020 14:51

We haven't.

Glitterinthegrey · 15/11/2020 14:56

It's way too early for us anyway, but we're having work done on our house that won't be finished until mid December at least, I refuse to contend with tinsel and glitter as well as plaster dust!

I totally get why people have started early this year though, it's been pretty rubbish for most people, so who can blame them for wanting to bring in the joy a bit sooner.

LadyCatStark · 15/11/2020 14:58

We haven’t, I feel like we’d get bored of them if we put them up now. They’ll go up on 29th November as 1st December is a Tuesday.

LBOCS2 · 15/11/2020 14:59

It's DD1's birthday at the end of November - we always wait until the next free weekend after that to decorate.

SocialBees · 15/11/2020 15:00

We haven't - it's not even December yet!

Thatwentbadly · 15/11/2020 15:00

Nope. I normally do the first weekend in December but I may push it to 29th November

Fleabagster · 15/11/2020 15:01

Not a chance. We get a real tree and I’m paranoid it’ll lose it’s needles if we get it too early so generally it’s at least second week of December. I like Christmas but don’t want to peak too early. Obviously nothing wrong with starting early though - especially this year!

Girlonit · 15/11/2020 15:01

Haven't here! Stopping Ds trying to climb the tree throughout December is long enough for me 😂
