please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Looking for suggestions for an 11 year old girl, quite young for her age with some LD's. Enjoys gymnastics and arty/colouring type things, definitely not into cosmetics/fashion etc. Truly sweet girl so very keen to find something she would like. Wondering about sending an Amazon gift card with one of those small tins of celebrations or as a mum would you think this a cop out for you DD? Budget about £15. [Have a Lottie doll for her 5 year old sister.] Thanks.

Elphaba17 · 29/10/2020 08:57

Recklessgran, DD is a just a bit younger but would love an Amazon gift card and as her mum so would I. Go for it.

I've just seen on HUKD that Wowcher are doing a £20 River Island gift voucher for £10.

Sounds very like my dd. She enjoyed her Spirograph received from her nan on her birthday and also loves doing puzzles. Dd also enjoyed foil art, slime and likes sensory stuff so bubble baths with bath bombs, loves taking her hotty to bed (I think that’s what they’re called, the nice smelling microwaveable animals, instead of a hot water bottle)
NerosFiddle · 29/10/2020 09:16

Thanks for all the Calvin Klein recommendations. I bought 6 pairs for £47 on sock shop with the code.

BooSurprise · 29/10/2020 09:19

@woodwaj

Try “ my baggage “ used to be called uni baggage .
We send large suitcases with them to save lugging them on and off planes .

SparklingDinosaurs · 29/10/2020 09:41

Could someone link to the photo jigsaws discussed just up thread please? I’ve had a search but can’t find a link and think these would be ideal for my inlaws. Thank you.

buckeejit · 29/10/2020 09:46

Just reiterating love for the goes wrong show - based on the hilarious play that goes wrong. We went to see it in London early last year with pil & our dc were asking lots of questions about it when we came home & they saw the programme & thought it was hilarious just from our rubbish stories.

They loved the TV show. The Christmassy one is hilarious 😁

bettyskitchen · 29/10/2020 09:51

Does anyone have any recommendations for foodie places that do reasonable international delivery? My friend in Australia could do with cheering up and would love to send her something, alternatively any Aus based companies / recommendations would be fab too

CompleteBarstool · 29/10/2020 09:55

@recklessgran Klutz do a range of craft books/kits that include various bits that you need....range includes making glitter clay charms, making a mini camper van, sewing kits, make your own puffy stickers etc

If you just google Klutz craft you'll hopefully find a range of them

WineandDine · 29/10/2020 09:59

For those that shop at Tokyo Laundry, what’s the quality of their stuff like? Some fairly scathing reviews online and I haven’t ordered from them before.
Would be for dressing gown/PJs and possibly a hoodie for DH.

Luxplus · 29/10/2020 10:02

@recklessgran what about kinetic sand? That's a huge hit here.

Anydreamwilldo12 · 29/10/2020 10:08

Thanks for all the Calvin boxer recommendations, I went with sockshop and used @Sneezein3s code(thanks for that sneeze), went through Quidco for cashback which might or not work but worth a shot and got a free footfile (3 free gifts are offered, not sure on what spend)
Only the white set left in medium but I was happy with them.

Can anyone recommend where to look for a "cute bracelet" for a very thin 11 year old with tiny wrists please?

margaritasbythesea · 29/10/2020 10:19

recklessgran - My DD loved and still loves this Romantic Country colouring book. There is a similar one with a cat I think but not by the same artist. That and a set of Faber Castell colouring pencils would be Star.

You asked about a gift token and I think it would be fine normally but as you have a wrapped gift for the other child I think a parcel would be better. It's nice having spending money, but less so when your little sister is unwrapping something to play with now.

nicky2512 · 29/10/2020 10:27

SparklingDinosaurs I’m sorry I can’t do links but the jigsaw I ordered was from Photobox - currently 40% off.
I haven’t bought from them before but others on here were happy with theirs.

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 29/10/2020 10:31

@scbchl not sure what style you're after, but try The Woodland Gift Company. I've got bits from them before for my girls, very reasonably priced and they're beautifully presented with handwritten tags. I can't recommend them enough.

recklessgran · 29/10/2020 10:31

Thanks all, up to neck in work at the moment but looking forward to having a proper look round at all your suggestions for DGN later. You lot are great and can always be relied upon to help out - means a lot, thanks again and apologies for momentarily derailing the bargain hunting on our thread @Reastie!

Scbchl · 29/10/2020 10:40

Just went on ebay and the code POPUPOCT20 came up for 20% off.

XFPW · 29/10/2020 10:41

@Scbchl have a look at Joma Jewellery. They do a range of kids’ bracelets and they are lovely. My 10 year old DTs have several of them and wear them a lot. There are often ones on sale too. Worth looking on the Joma website and then also searching other sites for specific ones you like as you may find them cheaper elsewhere.

LikeSilver · 29/10/2020 10:41

@WineandDine I got some Tokyo Laundry stuff for DH last Christmas and I’d happily get more. Not sure if they quality has changed in the meantime? I’ve stolen the flannel shirts actually Smile On the small side if anything, though.

Shitfuckoh · 29/10/2020 10:49

Amazon have Baileys chocolat luxe for £13. I know it's that price in ASDA at the moment but if yours is anything like mine, they never have it in stock to deliver!

I did manage to get a 1l of the normal Baileys delivered from ASDA yesterday at £12, which makes the Luxe 'seem' like not such a bargain at £1 more for half the amount BUT it is delicious!

NoWordForFluffy · 29/10/2020 10:49

The Harry Potter book from Bees Emporium is beautiful! Thank you to whoever recommended it. 😍

JaneyJimplin · 29/10/2020 11:00

@whoknows1230 I just got my dh a 12 month triathlon magazine subscription and that scored me the £25 Molton brown voucher.

They've got loads of choices, so if I were you I'd think of a subject you like or someone you'd get a magazine subscription as a gift for, search it in the search bar and then check whether any of the results have the Molton brown offer.
