please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Beer52 code. I used telegraph and it worked!

whoknows1230 · 29/10/2020 18:55

@Bezzi how about a hand cream, some nice chocolates or stollen bites and maybe a Xmassy bath bomb, shower gel or body lotion?

girlsyearapart · 29/10/2020 18:55

@bezzi slippers , new pjs , nice chocolates, candle , bubble bath..?
We don’t do Xmas eve boxes so I don’t know what’s in them

catwithflowers · 29/10/2020 18:56

telegraph was supposed to be highlighted, sorry!

InDreamland · 29/10/2020 19:08

Thanks for the Beer52 offer. I've ordered beers and free snack & magazine for hubby. Not for Christmas but just to have a soon as delivered. Do you just call them to cancel the subscription after delivery?

drapeyday · 29/10/2020 19:12

@Bezzi how about a Spa Gift Set that one has 40% off and loads of goodies.

Cinderellashoes · 29/10/2020 19:25

Can anyone recommend where I may find a lovely soft grinch toy? Saw one in Waterstones for £17 but pricey! Budget around £10 ideally?

recklessgran · 29/10/2020 19:26

@Bezzi my copy of A Christmas Carol came today to. It is truly a beautiful book and I'll definitely be ordering more from the series. I'm very tempted to work my way through all the classics and I like the fact that they're abridged so not too onerous to get through. Thank you so much to OP for the tip.

waitforitwaitforit · 29/10/2020 19:26

We have a family Christmas Eve box and the adults had hotel chocolat reindeer, socks and a can / bottle of their preferred gin and tonic (one of the pre mixed ones). The kids also had socks, along with their other bits.

recklessgran · 29/10/2020 19:27

FGS typo should be too not to!!

SadderThanEeyore · 29/10/2020 19:31

@Bezzi ask her what she traditionally had as a child / what her favourite memories are from childhood xmas times?

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 29/10/2020 19:32

For anyone who missed out on earlier Hype sales, they seem to be having another "up to 50% off sale"... seems like they (along with lots of other retailers) are following GAP's sale strategy with a new deal every day...

Heads up @Reastie - nearing the end of another thread!

Someaddedsugar · 29/10/2020 19:32

@waitforitwaitforit thank you so much for that. I've just been sat wondering what I can get DP to go in for his bit of the box! Mine will definitely be chocolate and something else!

Does anyone know if Xbox vouchers ever go on offer? The only things I need to get are 2 Xbox vouchers, bits for hampers for DParents and DPIL and a gift for one member of my team.

tinyradish · 29/10/2020 19:37

So impressed by that tarte deal. Don't even know what to choose (if anyone has any recommendations I'd be very happy to hear them) & does anyone have a QVC referral they can PM me?

Ewock · 29/10/2020 19:41

Can I ask what the deal was on the Christmas Carol book please?

Bezzi · 29/10/2020 19:41

Thank you very much for the suggestions. Made myself a shopping list. Brilliant ideas thanks! @SadderThanEeyore love the idea of asking her what was traditional back in the day, she's mentioned a couple of things in the past so that was an inspired idea!!

Bezzi · 29/10/2020 19:43

@Ewock it was this book but it was £1.99 back when it was suggested on here. It's gone up now

Reastie · 29/10/2020 19:44

Thank you @IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts , I’m keeping my eye on it but may need to do new thread in a min before Ds gets too crabby before bedtime!

Thankyou. Must have missed that, the threads are moving fast this year.

HanPanPeg · 29/10/2020 19:46

@Bezzi what about a stocking instead? We did one for my dad when he stayed with us a couple of years ago abc he was so surprised - first time Father Christmas had been in 60 years!

buckeejit · 29/10/2020 19:48

Can anyone remember what the kids crafty subscription was that included cheap Halloween packs?

I subscribed but just realised that nothing has arrived & was happy to pay for a few months after getting the cheapie but don't really want it now, (I'll keep the craft gin club going though 😜)

Bert2020 · 29/10/2020 19:56

@buckeejit toucan box?

Bezzi · 29/10/2020 19:59

@HanPanPeg I'm thinking this is a great idea too. I remember her saying she always used to get a tangerine and a toothbrush in her stocking so I think I might. Back to B&M go I to find a matching initialled stocking!!

recklessgran · 29/10/2020 20:18

@ewock it was this book Hardback was £1.99 but it's gone back up in price now. I tried to order it again as I'm so impressed as it's a beautiful little book but when I tried to order it gave me a different version in the basket. Will wait a little while and try again. Would be a perfect stocking filler for adults as only measures about 10cms x 15.5 cms.
