Does anyone know if Waterstones or even WHSmiths have any offers around this time of the year? My son desperately wants the DK dinosaur/science & General knowledge Encyclopedias but at full price it's over half of my budget.
Also has anyone seen any Moana toys around?

CompleteBarstool · 18/10/2020 17:06

@runningpink and @XFPW

Thank you both for the Garmin recommendations - I'll get him to see if it does everything he wants.

He does a lot of mountain biking and some running. Currently has Strava on his phone and uses that a lot so it has to be compatible with that.

Chocolateteabag · 18/10/2020 17:09

@CompleteBarstool - another Garmin recommendation here.
If he is a student (even GCSE counts I think) you could use his email to open a free Totum account - they have a selection of Garmin's with 40% off - you buy direct from Garmin. They have the Forerunner 35 for £91.

Crackery · 18/10/2020 17:09

@anypossibleway I'd love your voucher if it's available...

Spam88 · 18/10/2020 17:10

@TheWildWoods there are loads of different encyclopaedias so I'm not sure which ones you're wanting, but pretty much anywhere will be cheaper than WHSmiths or Waterstones.

CompleteBarstool · 18/10/2020 17:16

@chocolateteabag thank you for the Totum tip.
I can get DD to buy it as she's at uni!

runningpink · 18/10/2020 17:17

@CompleteBarstool the Garmin definitely works well for both biking and running. It also works alongside strava easily.
If you go down the Garmin route then definitely get him to check as few different models. The 235 is a great all rounder and most popular amongst my running friends

myhobbyisouting · 18/10/2020 17:20

@TheWildWoods do Sainsbury's stock them? Books are included in the double up event.

Otherwise I'd put an ad locally on fbook marketplace looking for them. Someone is bound to have one hanging around

myhobbyisouting · 18/10/2020 17:21

To be honest, I think I might even have the encyclopaedia in the loft. If I do you can have it, I'm heading up there to get wrapping stuff tomorrow so I will have a look!

CoffeeAndEnnui · 18/10/2020 17:22

May I please have info on the bubble tea kit? Could be a perfect gift for the teen son of a friend.

sorryiasked · 18/10/2020 17:27

Just fell down the IKEA rabbit hole, some lovely Christmas bits.

Was someone after a large soft toy dog - one here also several soft toy dinosaurs including this 75cms stegosaurus

NoWordForFluffy · 18/10/2020 17:44

Ryman (yes, Ryman of stationery-selling!) has large Yankee candles for £10.00.

Tiggles · 18/10/2020 17:48

I use my garmin for running, road cycling and mountain biking. I love it. Have also found their customer service excellent.

GazingAndGrazing · 18/10/2020 17:50

build a bear mystery sale 25% off with SAVE25 at checkout

Mrsmadevans · 18/10/2020 17:56

@Spam88

DD has announced she'd like a zoo for Christmas. Any suggestions? She'll be 3.5. I saw argos have the playmobil one for £45 but the nearest to me is Coventry (I'm in South Wales...).
Spam88 have pm'd you Smile
Spam88 · 18/10/2020 18:09

Thanks @Mrsmadevans

noodledoodler · 18/10/2020 18:48

Thank you @Brashopper and @luckiestgirl, thats my last gift sorted now 😀

Hophop26 · 18/10/2020 18:53

What’s IKEA wrapping paper like? Worth the £4 delivery charge?

Dovesandkisses · 18/10/2020 18:56

@TheWildWoods if you join the mailing list for WHSmith- they send you a 10% voucher code.

woodwaj · 18/10/2020 19:12

Thanks @ScarlettDarling quite hard to get a discount on VS delivery and its normally £8!

weebarra · 18/10/2020 19:17

WELCOME20 gives 20% off a first order at Arran Aromatics. Just got my mum an advent calendar for £50 and got a £10 introductory set for nowt. Good for secret Santa or present cupboard.

GazingAndGrazing · 18/10/2020 19:29

I’m looking for a really decent, nice quality make up brush holder/bag/case please.

I bought the morphe brushes for a complete bargain and they are fab but they need a presentation case (I need two actually) any ideas?

Someaddedsugar · 18/10/2020 19:29

@Hophop26 I don't personally think so - H&M's is ok... I'd totally recommend Cox & Cox though. And with the codes over on the referral thread it's definitely worth it!

Someaddedsugar · 18/10/2020 19:29

@GazingAndGrazing have you looked at White Company?

Justyou · 18/10/2020 19:31

Which morphe brushes did you go for? Have I missed a bargain?
