I feel your pain dramallama and XFPW, I'm really hoping these next 2 weeks fly in! The Halloween scratch art from Amazon arrived today and looks really good. Thanks so much to the poster who suggested that, should keep DD occupied some rainy afternoon next week.

shipperssss · 15/10/2020 19:50

Card factory was the one, thanks!

HoldingForGeneralHugs · 15/10/2020 20:11

H&M up to 50% sale is on now, looks like it is in store and online

princessbear80 · 15/10/2020 20:11

Thanks to the pp for the Tesco Clubcard and Denby idea. My set of nesting bowls arrived today and they’re lovely!

Has anyone seen a bargain giant dog teddy? Thanks

Inastatus · 15/10/2020 20:12

@Dodadoo - I’ve just ordered one of those fake Oodies for my DD based on earlier positive comments on this thread about how soft and comfy they are.

AliceBlueGown · 15/10/2020 20:13

@nicky2512 I have bought and returned two lakeland throws (including the grey throw with star design). I just didn't find them warm enough. Maybe my expectations are just too high. So my advice would be try it out before gifting and return it if you are not happy.

Chocolatepumpkin · 15/10/2020 20:16

Dodadoo i ordered one of these, I'm really impressed for the money. Sorry can't link on my phone. It's soft and large fleece lining isn't the thickest but for £11 it's more than adequate. Hope this helps.

nicky2512 · 15/10/2020 20:23

AliceBlueGown Thank you. Did you find one that you were happy with?
I haven’t ordered yet as I was hoping there would be a code.

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 15/10/2020 20:29

@Dodadoo I got one of those in light grey - I've tried it on and think it's pretty great for the price! It's in the wash now, so still tbc how it copes with that and the tumble dryer...

Elskerdeg · 15/10/2020 20:29

@Bert2020
Thanks for the Lidl heads up!

I know Aldi have had those books before and it is way easier for me to get to an Aldi. I wonder if its worth waiting.. hmm...

Also I saw this on the Lidl website which looks cute. A make your own model castle or house for £3.50

PinkDaydreams · 15/10/2020 20:29

@Bert2020 thank you for the convertible book tip, I asked a few threads back and have been on the hunt but not been able to find a bargain. I'll be hot footing it to Lidl next week! :)

PinkDaydreams · 15/10/2020 20:34

Just looked on the Lidl site at those books, I was hoping to get a bus but they haven't got one :( fingers crossed for more choice in store

AliceBlueGown · 15/10/2020 20:41

@nicky2512 - unfortunately I am still looking. I wanted to find two really warm throws for each teenage DS - tried the dreamland one last year and the 'star pattened' one this year - sent both back. Think my expectations of how toasty warm they get is possibly a bit too high. I was expecting something nearer to an electric blanket - which is maybe why I am disappointed. Also heated throws are so expensive.

Bert2020 · 15/10/2020 20:45

@Elskerdeg Aldi have toys on sale 22nd & 25th but nothing showing what items yet. You should be able to find out if they have them before Lidl’s go on sale.

LutherRalph1 · 15/10/2020 20:47

@AliceBlueGown I've just seen on a Facebook page the most adorable penguin throw from asda. I don't know if it's warm but it looks it and it's so cute I may have to buy one!

Elskerdeg · 15/10/2020 20:51

@Bert2020 Thanks for that, I'll make sure to check!

@AliceBlueGown I've only seen your last post but if you are looking for good warm throws I think I've bought everyone in my family this throw. It is the warmest most comfy thing I've ever owned🧡. Everyone that has used it has asked about it! I have one in every bedroom Grin

AliceBlueGown · 15/10/2020 20:51

@LutherRalph1 - think I might need to have a look at asda - thank you

waitforitwaitforit · 15/10/2020 20:58

Aldi have got a lot of the same wooden things are last year, the dolls house, kitchen, some lovely wooden food and dolls prams, etc. The brochure's in store now.

LutherRalph1 · 15/10/2020 21:00

@AliceBlueGown I've just seen that they are out of stock online but may have them
In store. They also do cot sheets,
Does my toddler realllllllly need Christmas bedding? Yes

LutherRalph1 · 15/10/2020 21:02

Oh wait, it's for grown ups beds - hurrah!

Fancyateapottea · 15/10/2020 21:20

CoffeeAndEnnui · 15/10/2020 21:25

@dramalamma, the Halloween Toucan Box code is HW14 just enter where the turquoise prompt is on the landing page, select your two crafts and you're good to go.

GazingAndGrazing · 15/10/2020 21:27

@Wolfcub

Please be really careful with the rechargeable hot water bottles. I had one that set on fire on first use. It wasn't a cheap one and was recommended by charities for the elderly
That’s scary! I have already charged it to check it worked ok but I will certainly keep an eye on it.

And thank you to those that spotted my postcode so MNHQ could kindly remove the picture

CoffeeAndEnnui · 15/10/2020 21:32

On the subject of boredom busters, it's probably a good time for a reminder that you can still get your first four issues of The Phoenix for £1 here for younger readers.

And, like Toucan Box, it is well worth sticking with the subscription for a few deliveries while distracting activities are needed and independent businesses need our support because it really is a smashing publication.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 15/10/2020 21:34

@dramalamma, sorry, the code is just HW14. The asterisk was my bold fail!
