Thread 10 - the one where everyone starts writing the bargain info *in bold*

999 replies

Reastie · 03/10/2020 12:04

NEW INFO PLZ READ
**please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Does anyone know of any deals on Kinetic Sand? I would rather get the official stuff as the reviews on the others are mixed. Thanks

angstyalways · 03/10/2020 15:15

@Givealittlebit for a baby stocking I would put in; chocolate coins, bubbles, bubble bath, a new bib for Xmas dinner <a class="break-all" href="https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Baby-s-Novelty-Christmas-Bibs/293722341966?ulref=rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=2&pub=5575376664&toolid=10044&campid=5338268676&customid=Cj0KCQjwwuD7BRDBARIsAK5YhVk3g60idTVBRNVLTlN3NE3UFnFOIMVzT0TrUVfS5ZiMnisMJ0IkaAnDrEALwwcB&lgeo=1&item=293722341966&srcrot=710-53481-19255-0&rvrid=2627720067495&rvrts=eecfbd881740aaee9df0416cfff1feef&mwBanner=1&rdt=1&ulnoapp=true&pageci=7eed8282-c6c7-40bd-ae20-e2b7f238c9e5" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">like this one, fluffy socks, a little story book, big crayons, a pot of play doh, magic flannel, baby's first Christmas tree decorations and maybe a small toy. That should fill it up especially with toothbrushes and things other posters have suggested.

angstyalways · 03/10/2020 15:17

@AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings thank you, you have just brought back a lovely memory from when I was about 5, I can't wait to give one to my ds now

NewBabyJoy · 03/10/2020 15:18

@tabbycat985 can't take the credit for the whiskey set, it was previously mentioned by someone else. I ordered it yesterday just before the bloody price dropped, but an even bigger bargain now. Really good reviews too.

Notlongnow1 · 03/10/2020 15:23

@angstyalways

Does anyone remember a toy that was a little woodpecker at the top of a small metal pole that would peck his way down? (I know my description is amazing Hmm) I cant seem to find anything online but would love one for ds
www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000EGFLH2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_jKiEFbJDM920R?tag=mumsnetforu03-21 I loved mine!!

I've been looking too as my DC love it! No luck yet. I did discover an adult 'Kalm' set in the states that I am now desperate for them to release here! Maybe I'll ask Santa 🎅
CeeceeBloomingdale · 03/10/2020 15:26

@Givealittlebit

Ok seeing as everyone's been a fountain of knowledge so far I'm struggling with stocking type gifts for my 8 month old (will be 11 months by Christmas). We have everything really but his big brother will notice if he has more than him and it's 'unfair'. Any suggestions for things to level it a bit?
Bath toys, those little face clothes that are vacuum packed and open out in water, tooth brush, soft ball, stacking cups, new sippy cup
Tamtam86 · 03/10/2020 15:28

Ooh thanks for the link to the whiskey set, DH will be very pleased with this!

Chocolateteabag · 03/10/2020 15:30

@AmIReallyThough - Gifts for Runners:

running Socks
elastic lock laces - there are lots of colours
headband
running tops
this is a cute Ron Hill one in most sizes

I don't think you can go wrong with socks or a top to be honest.
Gloves and hats are a bit hit or miss - some wear them, I can't as I get too hot. I've linked to Sport Shoe and Start Fitness - both do good discounts.

Or you could go post run pamper - muscle soak, massage stuff?

Anydreamwilldo12 · 03/10/2020 15:30

Now I'm obsessed with looking at the tapping woodpeckers. Amazon even have one with youngsters in the nest at the top.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 03/10/2020 15:32

I just got off live chat with amazon. The chap on the other end says it doesn’t even exist! Why so random?

Flippityjibbits · 03/10/2020 15:33

BigEaredBob I haven't seen anything this year but keep an eye on the entertainer. They had some sets for half price on sale last year in the run up to Christmas

UselessInDisguise · 03/10/2020 15:34

Hmm I'm not eligible for the mastercard offer either Sad

Ewock · 03/10/2020 15:36

Sorry to ask but was there a link for the Amazon mastercard promition?

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 03/10/2020 15:46

Apparently if you join Amazon Treasure Trucks they send you offers by text message.
I'm not really sure if it's any good as I haven't found much information about it yet but thought it might be worth mentioning.

BeGoneDom · 03/10/2020 15:50

I had an excruciating live chat with Amazon and the lady didn't know anything about the promotion then just quoted the terms from that page back to me. I didn't have a MasterCard in my account so she said add it and wait 48 hours. I won't hold my breath.

Spam88 · 03/10/2020 15:52

@Givealittlebit My 1yo will be getting a ball, couple of Lanka kade figures, a few books and a bath toy. Bubble bath/bath bomb would be good if their skin is ok with that - I have eczema babies so put in a fun sponge instead (home bargains had rainbow ones recently). Character toothbrushes as well.

They had some on offer in Sainsburys today
Travellingraspberry · 03/10/2020 15:57

Lego dots sets 2 for £15 in Argos

They've got the Lego dots jewellery tree and animal photo sets which are £13 each on for 2 for £15 which seems a bit of a bargain!

Luxplus · 03/10/2020 15:58

@Jess26385 I use this brand and absolutely love it. Its vegan and against animal testing and has focus on environment www.nae-erboristeria.com/en/home.html

WatchoutfortheROUS · 03/10/2020 15:59

Thanks for the amazon offer. Just got the whiskey set for £6!

I wasn't eligible for the offer apparently but got round it Grin

EvilHerbivore · 03/10/2020 16:01

I have the matalan codes I won't use too if anybody wants them

BunnyBerries · 03/10/2020 16:01

@Manyoaks

Ohh great idea about the stamps for little advent surprises. I have a set of Melissa and Doug stamps hidden away and that has just reminded me!

Ewock · 03/10/2020 16:05

I have had a very frustrating chat online with Amazon who said it isn't their offer and tough luck basically. Shocking customer service.
