Thread 10 - the one where everyone starts writing the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 03/10/2020 12:04

NEW INFO PLZ READ
**please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets

Name of link

Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Amazon told me I wasn't eligible for the Mastercard promo (even though I have a Mastercard registered on the account!) So I used live chat to ask why and she gave me £15 credit for the inconvenience!!

SomethingInTheWaySheCooks · 03/10/2020 14:36

Sadly I’m not eligible for the MasterCard offer - probably because it’s already set as my default. ☹️

Friedbanana · 03/10/2020 14:36

This isn’t really that good value compared with the large snow globe gin but they are soooo cute and I guess you could split them for stockings?

3 mini M&S gin snow globe baubles for £12 in store from 3rd November!

Kiko website has lots of really nice make up and skincare, currently offering buy three products get three free*

www.kikocosmetics.com/en-gb/cart/checkout.html?orderConfirmation=true&orderCode=5000072513886

I just got £35 pounds worth of stuff for £25, which is the amount for free shipping. Cheapest item I bought was a nose strip reduced to £1.80

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 03/10/2020 14:37

@1stTimeMama haven't seen them yet this year but we had onesies from sainsburys 2 years ago. They were pj material rather than fluffy ones

eitak22 · 03/10/2020 14:38

Unlurking to ask if anyone has seen any Magformers sets cheap?

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 03/10/2020 14:42

Sorry better link for Kiko*

RubySlippers77 · 03/10/2020 14:42

@AmIReallyThough have you tried Bomb Cosmetics for beautifully packaged gift sets? Similar to Lush but I prefer the Bomb ones Smile they often do 10% off codes or Black Friday deals. They sell via Amazon too but bigger choice on their own website!

LyraSilvertongueBelacqua · 03/10/2020 14:45

Money off at The Entertainer

Had an email from The Entertainer. No code needed as far as I can see, but ends tomorrow.

I can't for the life of me find the MasterCard Amazon offer - can anyone send me the link please? 🤞🏻

Emma10702 · 03/10/2020 14:49

That whiskey set looks great. Ordered for my dad. Love this thread so much helps me find things I never knew existed.
My Penhaligons stuff has arrived too. The gift boxes are great. Just waiting for the miniature sets to arrive then i will decide what I’m sending back!

angstyalways · 03/10/2020 14:55

Does anyone remember a toy that was a little woodpecker at the top of a small metal pole that would peck his way down? (I know my description is amazing Hmm) I cant seem to find anything online but would love one for ds

BeGoneDom · 03/10/2020 14:56

@Givealittlebit I'd go practical for stocking fillers to bulk it up. Toothbrushes, flannels, packs of wipes - your older one shouldn't question it because it's stuff baby uses. Maybe some melty puff type snacks or new cutlery or cups?

LyraSilvertongueBelacqua · 03/10/2020 14:56

code for Entertainer is SAVEMORE

Chunkychipsohyeah · 03/10/2020 14:56

Apologies if already posted but Celtic and Co have 15% off with AW20HO
And Cox and Cox 20% off with HBFS20

NickMyLipple · 03/10/2020 14:56

@SomethingInTheWaySheCooks - email or live chat to ask why!

SomethingInTheWaySheCooks · 03/10/2020 14:57

NickMyLipple Amazon so far aren’t being particularly helpful with me! So you may have hit it lucky. Why are offers only open to some people?

BeGoneDom · 03/10/2020 14:57

@angstyalways something like this?

www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000EGFLHC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_JmiEFbS1HE718?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

angstyalways · 03/10/2020 15:00

@BeGoneDom that's it!! I had one when I was younger with troll style hair, thank you

Givealittlebit · 03/10/2020 15:00

@MrsLeclerc sadly we have a big toy chest full of happy land from the eldest, but balloons are an excellent shout! Bath toys too as it means we can replace some of our slightly manky ones

@tabbycat985 those books are lovely! I wanted the gruffalo ones but missed them reduced, so might get these instead. Also my buns definitely didn’t arrive squashed so maybe just unlucky? I’d give them the feedback if you were planning on gifting them.

Any other ideas for an almost one year old (when we have everything thanks to the toddler!) gratefully received!

SomethingInTheWaySheCooks · 03/10/2020 15:00

Amazon say:
I'm sorry that the offer is available only for the customers you have been invited from our end via banner or link with an email. It is a random process. Also, an www.amazon.co.uk account and a valid Mastercard card deposited in the account is obligatory in order to receive and redeem the promotional voucher. If, for any reason, the Mastercard credit card expires, is rejected or invalid, the eligibility to receive or redeem the promotional voucher expires.
Selective offers really annoy me!!!!

Givealittlebit · 03/10/2020 15:01

@BeGoneDom brilliant, toothbrush/flannel etc would be perfect

LutherRalph1 · 03/10/2020 15:04

Following on from my other post about the Hotel Chocolat dipping adventure, I'd quite like to buy one for somebody so if anyone knows of any codes, please shout!

@DumplingsAndStew

Just a consideration... If there's concern over how fast these threads are moving, why not allow previous threads to actually be used after the new thread link is posted, rather than filling up the final 20-odd posts with random words and lyrics? Then everyone worries that people have moved over to the new thread, so reposts bargains on the new one (understandably).

We are probably wasting up to 50 posts per thread by doing that.

@DumplingsAndStew - I can see why it might seem a waste of posts, but using up the thread with Christmas songs has been thread tradition for years! Personally, I love reading them and they add to the cosy friendliness of Reastie's Christmas threads.
