Thanks @allatonce99 for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

So many bottles of the MNS gin at Leicester Fosse Park! An entire section full top to bottom.

sorryiasked · 23/09/2020 16:53

@Lockdownhairdontcare this one on Amazon looks good?

Also I think I saw a dinosaur onesie in the men's section at Primark but it could have also been the incredible hulk Blush. It was very green!

NoWordForFluffy · 23/09/2020 16:56

@Penguinbeaver, I've not had a hamper, but can recommend Butlers Cheese as a company. They're relatively local to me and the cheese is lovely!

TheDrsDocMartens · 23/09/2020 17:09

We had from these during lockdown

@Putmynewshoeson My 1 year old loves Happyland and Toot Toot and always plays with this:

www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001P3SJG8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zk3AFbXB1X8MJ?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Was either £3.99 or £4.99 when I bought it so a great bargain if it drops down again.

Or books. Can't ever go wrong with books.

Puffalicious · 23/09/2020 17:10

I'm also looking for a decent Switch deal and Samsung wireless buds if anyone comes across any good bargains.

By the by, anyone who's in the know, should I get the Switch or Switch lite for DS 8, almost 9?

Bezzi · 23/09/2020 17:16

Has anyone seen any deals on an iPad? Also any advice on which one is best, I don't know what I'm doing!! DD would like one but I know nothing about them, she has one already that we bought 3 or 4 yrs ago (a refurb one) but now it's so old her fav games won't upgrade on it anymore. She also gets frustrated because it has hardly any memory.
Any advice at all gratefully received

margaritasbythesea · 23/09/2020 17:20

cactusforever - a kind poster suggested this one to me and I found some ace stuff very cheaply.

ukge

superstar84 · 23/09/2020 17:20

I recommend the switch rather than the lite as it connects to the tv and you can add more joy cons for multiplayer etc

Puffalicious · 23/09/2020 17:21

Just bought half price Lego. Brilliant thread.

Puffalicious · 23/09/2020 17:24

Thanks Superstar as I'm not clued up on Switch! Now hunting for offers.

I wonder if anyone knows if Black Friday yielded good deals last year and best to hold off for the Switch?

Lazysundayafternoons · 23/09/2020 17:27

I held of until Black Friday last year, and there was no reduction in price in any shops, just something that came free with the switch (which was never used anyway).
Yeknom · 23/09/2020 17:34

@Penguinbeaver not necessarily a hamper but I used this company in lockdown to send my friend 1.4kg of various cheeses - it was amazing so I consequently ordered some for myself! www.northumberlandcheese.co.uk

TheSeedsOfADream · 23/09/2020 17:35

@Penguinbeaver, I've used Pong Cheese before and also one whose name I can't remember despite it being fabulous. I'll have a look but it's based in Tetbury.

I now want the biggest lump of cheese. Off to raid fridge. Grin

Putmynewshoeson · 23/09/2020 17:42

@welltidy thanks for those suggestions both look great!

Putmynewshoeson · 23/09/2020 17:44

@begonedom that also looks brilliant thank you! That's me sorted for those gifts :)

CompleteBarstool · 23/09/2020 17:48

Thank you to whoever posted about the Urban Outfitters Home sale.

I just want to add that if you sign up for their emails you get an extra 10% off (even off the sale stuff) and I got free p&p even though I spent less than £30.

I thought the PS4 controller stress toy was a great stocking filler for teen DS and the photo mobile would be great for uni student DD.

@Puffalicious I got a good deal on a switch from Very last year. It came with 3 games and had £50 cash back to my very account with it. According to my account it was on the 4th of November I ordered it. If you don’t have a Very account they often do £30 back if you open one and you can pay it off immediately.

LyraSilvertongueBelacqua · 23/09/2020 17:54

@Puffalicious not necessarily an offer, but I've bought a switch (£279) interest free from Amazon and I'm able to pay in 5 instalments. It works for us as I don't have a big chunk to spend in one go!

I have also seen them with a game for £299 in Tesco

Goodness I can't keep up with this thread.

Last of my WH Smith order has been delivered. Got the large Sharpie pens box, £8.99 with the 10% off. It looks fab.
