Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 03/06/2020 19:34

Thanks fluffy :) In a Christmassy mood due to the weather!

WreckTangled · 03/06/2020 19:37

Thanks fluffy

Might put a Christmas film on tomorrow if it's still like this! ☔️

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/06/2020 19:46

New thread eh?
I bought a new vacuum (it's on order) , I was sooo excited Xmas Grin

I did all the research.
Decided what I did and didn't want .
Told DH that the Shark one we had was utter rubbish and the cats were moulting pounds of fur over the carpet so we needed a few one .

If he tries to tell me its my birthday present I will need a very skilled Proctologist to work the controls IYKWIM.

I am unreasonably excited !

pussycatinboots · 03/06/2020 19:54

70 I had a pressure washer one year. I was very happy. Grin
Please report back when you've done some test runs with it...our 2 are the hairiest little beasts😺 We've a Dyson at the mo, but it's beginning to struggle and DH is sick of the cable wrapping around his bloody big feet.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/06/2020 19:55

Ha! Old thread filled .

Nice new bouncy thread

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/06/2020 20:00

Our mini panthers leave massive clumps of black fur (beige carpet but it was here 15 years before the moggies)

It's a Halo Capsual that I've ordered.
Cordless (no tripping hopefully) , stick vacuum (I quite liked the Harry - green Henry- but like the Miele Cat&Dog I've have to haul the main body along)
Not keen on another Shark and Dyson get bad reviews.

So , I'll let you know when it arrives .

WreckTangled · 03/06/2020 20:03

Ooo love a new appliance! I've got a shark cordless and really like it. Have had some shit vacuums previously though.

pussycatinboots · 03/06/2020 20:07

Ours tend to have a bit of a scuffle when it starts to go dark and will happily pull clumps out of each other. As Charlie is ginger, it stands out well on our very tired old knackered ugly green Shock carpet. Tilly being tabby blends in with blinkin' everything.
I suspect the problem is more the knackered carpet than the quality of the vacuum.
Keep me posted, if it's good I can order one as a "Fathers Day" gift from the cats WinkGrin

NerosFiddle · 03/06/2020 20:10

Thanks for the new thread fluffy. Maybe we will get 12 threads this year if we're all still at home.

I have the shark and it's useless now. I think it's because my hair is shedding so much it gets caught up in it.

I'm watching car share now on iPlayer. I've seen it before but wanted something light hearted.

pussycatinboots · 03/06/2020 20:23

Nero is it the dogging episode? Grin

NerosFiddle · 03/06/2020 20:23

Boots it is!

NerosFiddle · 03/06/2020 20:24

I literally lol'd

pussycatinboots · 03/06/2020 20:27

The one with the blind date with Simon is good too Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2020 20:33

Dysons are rubbish. It's a lie that they don't lose suction. I've never known a Dyson that hasn't lost bloody suction!

I'd heard good things about the Shark though. Maybe if you don't have pets?

We have an old-ish Vax as our once-a-week vacuum and a cordless Dyson for everyday detritus removal though 'D'H is blind to this so I have to do it to save getting the Vax out. The Vax must be 11 this year. About now in fact. We just put a new belt in it, actually.

Wow...I'm boring myself! 😂😂😂

Christmas presents arrived yesterday.
Ds birthday presents for next week arrived today.
I've been busy Smile

Mrsmadevans · 03/06/2020 21:42

Thank you for the new thread Fluffy [smile
I swear by the Miele cat and dog with the turbo brush , it was amazing when we had the 2 cats and the dog & the Dds with their very long thick hair Grin

CrazyBaubles · 03/06/2020 21:47

Thank you for the new thread Fluffy Xmas Smile

puss I was busy scoffing chocolate very slowly eating my Kit Kat as it's the only choc I can have. I missed the end of the thread ☹️

70 if he tries to give you a vacuum as a present I'm sure you'll have your pick of alibis!!

DH picked our hoover without me - it's a Vax. It clunky and heavy with an extra long cord and I hate it so he hoovers a lot more than I do

Oh I loved Car Share Neros

I'm just working out the best way to embroider the details on to my crochet gingerbread men Xmas Smile

FireflyGirl · 03/06/2020 22:37

Yey! New thread! Thread 6 for month 6!

I've started getting bits for Christmas, when I've seen them on offer. Hopefully, the bargain thread should start picking up soon. Bit stumped what to get a 6 week old for their stocking, though, so DS doesn't think the baby is being left out!! I try to avoid tat, so it's usually underwear, stationary, chocolate/sweets etc. We already have a carrier bag full of baby socks, and I'm not sure pencils or Haribo will be advisable...

I definitely don't want a new vacuum! We have 3 already - my parents' old Hoover (good for pet hair, as they have a Springer), DMIL's old Dyson (that I've never used, as I sort the laminate downstairs, the cleaner did the hall/stairs/landing and the rest is DH's job) and the robot vacuum cleaner that does the daily whip round.

If a new vacuum turns up, we'll be your alibi, 70 Wink

WreckTangled · 04/06/2020 06:45

Fire have you got some baby toys left from ds you can save for Christmas and wrap and put in the stockings? Assuming he won't remember them? Ds was the same age and I don't think dd noticed how few presents he had compared to her as she was too exciting by her own things.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/06/2020 07:07

Morning!

I hope you get good news today, Wreck.

Firefly, I agree with Wreck about baby toys. We have a giraffe baby toy somewhere. You're welcome to it if I can find it (it's one that hangs and you pull it down for it to travel back up).

You can put a 'first Christmas' bib in there too. And maybe some festive muslins. A few bits like that will be bulky but not expensive.

I've lost the will today. Motivation is seriously lacking. I've a file which needs a whole day spending on it, in reality. I'm trying to sort it so that can be tomorrow!

WreckTangled · 04/06/2020 07:15

Thanks fluffy although I'm not sure what I will say if it is good news. I'll ask if they'd consider a four day week and then say I'll have to think about it if they say no....I haven't really been thinking about it because I think there's no need unless they actually offer it to me but maybe I should be considering things?

I'm still in my pjs should get dressed really.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 04/06/2020 07:23

Fingers crossed wreck

We have a Miele which is good.

Dried up here today and the sun is out.

NerosFiddle · 04/06/2020 08:17

Good luck wreck. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Fire I have a load of stuff that say baby's first Christmas on it. Most of it still has the label on it, if you want it. Ds was 8 weeks old his first Christmas and dd was a week old.

It's raining here at the minute, and it's to last all day. So I think a day of watching films is in order with loads of cups of tea.

pussycatinboots · 04/06/2020 10:19

Morning. Raining here Smile still waiting for the nearly dead lawn to spark back into life...
Crazy if you need a selection of coloured embroidery threads, let me know - I've loads.
Firefly matching "big brother" and "little bro/sis" tops/onesies for them to wear for Christmas Day - I'm sure he'd love that and not worry about other gifts too much.
fluffy how's your butts?
Hmm have heard positive stuff about Miele before, but DH likes an upright...Grin sorry Blush
Wreck any news?🤞🏻
