Morning. Welcome to our new thread.

We maybe have rain today. I really hope we do! I have no ides when we last had it.

I'm baking with the kids today plus potting some plants on. Exciting. No idea where they'll go, mind you!

Only 2 days left of furlough. Yaaay for the financial side and booooo otherwise! 😂

I think today is our last hot day. I'm wfh today.

NerosFiddle · 02/06/2020 09:05

Morning.

It's to be 24 here again today and then 14 tomorrow and rain on Thursday. Though, this has changed in the last hour or so.

The whole house was up half the night here. It was just so warm we couldn't sleep. We had windows open but it was still roasting.

Dh has said that he wants to have a big holiday for his 40th birthday. So I'll spend today doing some research. We won't be able to go anywhere for a few years but it'll give me an idea on prices so that we can save a bit.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 02/06/2020 09:38

25 here today and 17 tomorrow. It always amazes me how quickly the temp can drop. Mr Sainsburys delivered some water cress (and other things) to me this morning so I popped it in my pond. I am told it should root and produce lovely white flowers :)

Wind supposed to shift around to north west this evening, so causing things to cool here at that stage. And (whispers) possibly a small drop of rain overnight....fingers crossed. It's been glorious though, Dh spent a lot of the long weekend in the garden reading and doing some work, DD was out there doing her exercises a lot, and I enjoyed having the doors open and free space in the kitchen to set up the ironing board and my sewing machine, and spent 2 solid days sewing - 1 doing masks for family, the other making tote bags from leftover fabric I had wanted to use up for a long time. I still have a lot of other projects to do, but starting to see the fabric stash dropping slightly...

Back to work today.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/06/2020 13:52

It's definitely cooler today, and definitely less oppressive than it's been for the last 4-5 days. We have a 90% prediction for rain overnight and tomorrow now. I feel like going to go and do a rain dance to give it a boost! 😂

Biddy, it sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Shame it had to end!

We're due rain from 2am. DH has just checked our dust bowl (it used to be a lawn) and said I should have told him to water it.
🤯😲🤦🏻‍♀️

WreckTangled · 02/06/2020 15:10

We've only got a 40% chance of rain tomorrow. The nearest town has run out of water and they're having to give out bottled.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 02/06/2020 15:11

Wow wreck that is crazy! 75% chance if rain overnight here so I am hopeful.

Saw my first water boatman in my pond today, crazy!

NerosFiddle · 02/06/2020 16:05

It's raining!

It wouldn't wet your lips, never mind anything else but I'm glad to see it. I'm going to stay up a bit later tonight as were predicted thunder and lightning.

Mrsmadevans · 02/06/2020 20:00

Evening everyone Grin
Have been busy today , ironing , washing , 2 lines here , 2 lines at Bob's , washed Kitchen floor & Shower room, showered & dressed Mum, sorted out Bob's paperwork, came home, had a bit of dindins, felt a bit tired , bit throaty , bloody hay fever , then sat on the sofa and fell asleep lol !
Good God Wreck WTH! They have been wittering on here about water and hose pipe bans etc etc , it's unbelievable considering the downpour and flooding we had in Feb !Shock
I think it's going to rain, can feel it in the air , looks like we need it Hmm
Hey ho it is welcome for the garden just glad l did all the washing and got it dried Smile
SPRINGWATCH YAY!

WreckTangled · 02/06/2020 20:14

Apparently they're not allowed to impose a ban because Themes water waste too much water themselves.

I've got my interview tomorrow and haven't prepped at all.

If anyone has a spare boden voucher they don't need I would be very grateful for it Grin

Blue skies and 23° still here 🥵

Mrsmadevans · 02/06/2020 20:44

Thank Goodness you won't have a ban Wreck
Sometimes you are better not prepping , if it is meant to be you will get it Good luck Flowers

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 02/06/2020 20:45

Although still dry and sunny here I can feel a difference in the wind and it is obvious that rain is coming. Paddling pool has come down and outdoor sofa cushions are inside. Hope it's enough rain to fill my water butt :)

Impatiently awaiting the arrival of my new cross stitch and my new dress!

NoWordForFluffy · 02/06/2020 20:55

Which cross stitch did you go for? I'm only waiting for one now.

I said exactly the same to my mum about feeling the change in the weather out there. I too want a good butt-filling downpour!

WreckTangled · 02/06/2020 21:05

Mrs it's a different water supplier where I live. We've had bans before but not for many years.

I'm pleased it's not going to be so hot tomorrow. Working from home again, might go into the office Thursday not sure yet. Apparently we don't have to go in at all it's all very confusing right now.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 02/06/2020 21:23

I went for the elephant :)

Mrsmadevans · 02/06/2020 23:32

Good luck Wreck work sounds a bit difficult for you arm, perhaps it's good you can WFH love Smile
Most l loved the elephant, it looks hard though Smile
Good luck filling the butts Fluffy
Must get to bed night everyone Smile

pussycatinboots · 03/06/2020 06:33

Wreck good luck for the interview ☘🤞🏻

Good News - It's raining!☔☔☔ which is taking the temperature down to bearable. Was anyone else too hot last night? It felt like DH had the heating on full blast.🥵

fluffy are your butts full yet? Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2020 06:57

Morning. Sodding page refreshed without being asked and I lost my post. Grrrrr.

Good luck, Wreck!

No butt check yet as I'm in bed, but once I'm up I'll look! We've had some rain, but it's stopped for now. It's forecast for the rest of the morning, and apparently the week. Yay! I don't have to water the allotment for days if that's right!

Most, the elephant one is ace. I love it!

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2020 06:59

Boots, it was boiling here. It's still warm, but with a breeze. Toasty!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 03/06/2020 07:06

Eurgh DS was awake for like an hour in the night, probably the heat. I am exhausted :(

Need to get out of bed and check my butt!

Hope everyone else has rain :)

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 03/06/2020 07:06

Just looked out of the window and the ground is still bone dry 😭

WreckTangled · 03/06/2020 07:10

No rain here but it's gone up to a 50% chance.

Thanks. Feeling nervous now 😬 I don't know why, even if they offer it to me I can't do it because it's full time.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 03/06/2020 07:12

Good luck wreck!

So BBC are saying 98% chance of rain by 8 here. Fingers crossed. Would have preferred it overnight though as harder to entertain DS in the rain.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2020 07:31

Most, the BBC site is normally wrong here. What does Met Office say?

Butt 1 is full. But overflow butt 2 is still mostly empty. We need more rain! The ground was so dry, it needs to just chuck down for about a week!

If they offer it you can see if they'll change it, Wreck.
